Factual and straight to the point. A lot of get-rich-quick chancers won't want to hear this, and a lot will go on to lose money publishing a book.Excellent advice for those wanting to publish a successful book. Thank you Ken👌🏻
Thanks Ken. I've started making journals and coloring books and uploaded to KDP. I needed to see this as its confusing and intimidating for newbies like me. 😊I am penniless and cant afford to buy a few different apps needed. I'm using Canva free version. Subbed. You're a great talker and teacher, explain things clearly.
Love this video. Thanks. What if I found some keywords for a niche but they have 500SV each? Adding up these keywords will come out to a total of 6000SV. I think such a niche will be ok too, and I can put the keywords in the subtitle and boxes. I wanna video about creating titles please.
Thank you for your very good presentation, Ken! The metrics you use for the All and Books filters are different. Which ones do you consider when deciding on a keyword?
Value packed! For a beginner like me, this is an eye-opening course (yeah, COURSE!) Keep doing what you are doing. You are changing lifes! Thanks for the video, brr. Actually, I have a question, if I have access to bookbeam already, can I focus on it "Niche finder" section to find keywords or Should I still go on Amazon to find the keywords of topics to write on? Which one is the best to list bunch of topics (up to 200 as you recommended).?
Thanks Ken, great video 👍 I just want to know if all the matrices are good, but the number of books of pages is more than 20. should I ignore the keyword and go for another one?
It depends. If you think you can rank on page one, then go for it. If it’s low content, it might be fine a you make books faster so it’s not as much of a commitment. Realistically that seems very saturated, but if you’re confident then do it. Me personally, if there is a lot of demand, and the competition doesn’t have super high reviews, even with 20 pages I can get to page 1 no problem.
@@KenSelfPublishing Sorry, Ken, I have another question. When we search for dead books and Authority Figures, how many pages should we set as our search limit?
Everything is very clear but I have a question.. The first data is the search volume (506) you take from the BookBeam results.. Who doesn't have this software where do they get it? Thank you
Hello Ken, I really appreciate your efforts. I have a question I hope you could answer. I entered a specific kw. I got its BSR number but get a variety of numbers but am not sure which one to use. Should I only look at the overall BSR in books or should I use the number specific to the niche of the kw I entered (i.e. homeschooling)? Please advise.
You don’t actually need any form of audience to launch a book. Launching a book starts with the keyword. When you find a good keyword, like we just proved, there should be lots of traffic. So you’re using the traffic that is already there to launch your book. You post it, get some reviews, if you have a good title and cover, and use my Amazon ad strategy, you should absolutely get sales. From there, you will slowly rank closer to page one. If it goes well you should get on page one and make a ton of organic sales. The only reason you can’t launch a book is if you made a bad book, didn’t run ads, or your keyword has no demand!
If you are already part of my email list reply to one of my emails and I will send it! Otherwise not sure what the issue is everything is set up correctly. Just try and check every different folder!

If it’s technically a different topic then what the keyword is, probably not. I want the data to tell me if my book will sell or not. If I am looking up the keyword “wall Pilates for women” and there is a book with.
More or less yes but there is often a lot of brands that are bigger authority figures. Biggest tell is the books. Do they have thousands of reviews? Probably a larger company
Hi Ken, I downloaded your spreadsheet but is slightly different from the video, do we still consider that if there is read in the first three columns of traffic and demand then is a no go? also why the "do books match the search term" is now on competition section? shouldn't we check that in the first section? Thanks in advance
Ideally it’s still green but trust your judgement. If it’s a few over that’s fine. I just moved it around slightly and the metrics are what’s important not necessarily the categories. I will be perfecting it for my program which I will be launching this fall!
Thank you for your help - 1 question. When validating results you have Amazon metrics across the top of the screen which told you how many books there were for Pickleball for beginners - how did you get those?
Thank you But want to know about books on Roman history ancient civilization. Are books published on this niche not public Domain books because it is usually difficult to find self independent books published on this niche especially the history niche What can you say about it
Knowing where the cut-off from good books to dead books is difficult to decipher. It's more like a gradual thing. What if there are 10 pages of results and dead books are mixed in with good books on every page from 1-10? Does that mean that if I create a good book, I'll start off on page 10?

I did Just test it myself and the email came through fine! Not sure what could be causing the issue on your end. Maybe wait shortly, check spam and promotions, or try another email! Please make a new comment on this video if it still doesn’t come through. Sorry about that!
What I don't get is if you get through all of these and your keywords that checked through all your metrics doesnt have anything to do with my book, then wouldnt it just get impressions without clicks and if it gets clicks, there would be no sales because its irrelevant to my books. How do you work through this?
This is a big misconception with Amazon KDP. People create a book, and find keywords. A keyword is just a book topic. Wall Pilates for women, for example. We should be looking for profitable keywords/book topics BEFORE we create books, and create a book to rank and sell on that exact search term. This is how to succeed with Amazon KDP. You simply find a topic people are already searching, and just make a book for that person. Put it in front of them with a good launch, and you will rank on page 1 and they will buy it. Publish like this and sales will very quickly follow.
First off, unfortunately many would have created and published their books before searching the keywords for many self publisher. Secondly, I’m not saying this your strategy would not work but if you are recommending doing all of these works before creating a book, then that books had better be a low content books that can be done in few months 1-3months. If it’s a high content books, then it’s a gamble that wouldn’t worth all of these stress because a high content books takes a longer duration to create and published often times 12months and more and the dynamics would have changed and at that point, those might not be relevant again.
I understand that this is different for low content books, but idk where you got the number 12 months. Many people publish high content books and once you’ve done a couple it doesent take more than 2 months. Low content is way more of a gamble as the completion is astronomical and if you don’t have money to spend to boost your book to the top then it’s a game of luck. Sometimes low content books hit, sometimes they don’t.
@ Well technology and Amazon is a game changer that demystify book publishing. Now people just uses AI to do copy and paste and get things done in a minute unlike having to make research, learning and writing you idea or experience in a none fiction book, this is excluding having to proof read, editing and formatting and getting editorial reviews or foreword by someone who is an authority in that field you are writing on to read and pen down his opinion. All of these takes longer time. That being said, I appreciate your contribution to the game and as a matter of fact I just tried out some of your recommendations for kdp campaigns. Will monitor to see how it turns out cos been trying out different strategy but I know budget is definitely my limitation.
I said books with 50+ reviews that aren’t selling. If they have lots of reviews and are decent books, but simply aren’t selling, I refer to them as dead book. If there are too many of them there might not be much traffic
