Hi Paul! I want to ask why you are looking under "All" and not "Books"? Since the products we're looking for are books, isn't it more relevant to search under "Books"? The differences in results are huge. For example, "manifestation journal for teens" in "Books" brings up over 4000 results and in "All" 360. This seems to me a very good question to which I have not yet found a satisfying answer.
@@paulmarles for me, the niche that I publish in is a technical trade also, so I find that when I am searching in "ALL" for words associated with my niche, my pages are gunked up with tools and products of that trade, and it's hard to find the books. But when I filter by "BOOKS" I'm able to gather my niche research data. Would you say this is a good tactic or not so much? Let's just say - Example - If I'm in the automotive niche and create a "coloring book for mechanics" or "log book for mechanics", I find that tools of the trade come up in the "ALL" category - socket wrenches, screw drivers, mechanic hand soap, etc... vs. when I filter by "BOOKS" Thanks!

That's not something I've ever taken into account. I guess if there's lots of books published recently, making saless and low review counts it may be a bonus.
I am writing a book to help young people get ahead. I am shooting for 52 tips, as it is book desigined to be read over a year. Any titles? I thinking of publushing on Amazon

The only way the BSR shows in my searches is if I go into each individual product and look at the Product Details section. Yes, I clarify it by saying avoid it until you get more experience at ranking books. So yes, if these are the first books you are creating then avoid it, go for less competitive niches, work on keyword research and cover design. When you start making regular sales, learn what works then start going for the more competitive niches.

It will show high BSR average if there are other books or items on that page with high BSR’s. All you want to know is, are there other publishers making sales in that niche.
What if the 3 others with low BSR are not paperbacks but other listing products but includes the niche words? for example: a pocket planner - there are no paperbacks in the 1st page but other products which are physical pocket planners with spiral ...etc.
No. You are just looking to see if sales are being made in the type of product you want to list. In the example you give or could be that there is a demand for paperback books of that type or it may be an untapped niche. Probably more likely the former.

No. It's a keyword research tool. It doesn't list books.

Yes, you can.
For the three journals with BSR
I normally just look at the organic but if sponsored listings do have decent BSR’s that’s still an indication of sales being made in a niche.
