However, the tip still stands that you should plant crops harvestable multiple times rather than one-time harvests if you'd like to make a lot of money, as in RF5 crops won't wilt when the season ends (unlike in Story of Seasons), and you can keep harvesting them as long as they are healthy. You can use your hoe to till corn, wilted grass or 4-leaf clovers on a crop to recover its HP. Recommended crops are pumpkins, bell peppers and strawberries, which are unlocked a lot earlier with the requests! Most of my income in-game has come from strawberries. Sorry for the confusion. The magnifying glass can also be upgraded into your _armor_ , letting you see the stats no matter which tool you have out. (You do still need to have _something_ out, for some reason, you can't use this to see stats barehanded. But even a weapon will work.) (I learned this only a few days ago from reading guides for 4, and I had to test it to confirm but it still works in 5!)

Seeing the wilted weed thrown into the fertilizer made my soul hurt, hoe it into the dirt, or save it for doing so later :) It restores health to the soil, stopping your crops from eventually dying to bad soil or bad weather.
If you’re just looking to farm money adventure with Elsje, you’ll need level three friendship or all of the first star monster requests done for the seal. Have your health at 1/4 health, the easiest way is through RP depletion and then go stand in the beginning forest where they do zero damage to your face. You might have to circle around/hit monsters occasionally because her AI seems a little wonky, but the important thing here is that you’re getting hit. Elsje throws food at you when you’re at low hp, so when she winds up to toss, just circle around her and pick the food up. Then sell. Royal caviar is the best food item she’ll toss at you it sells for half a mil but the curry is also pretty good for quick cash. Just be sure not to eat it or you’ll be full and she won’t toss food at you. The reason you want to hurt yourself to the threshold personally is mostly for control in case you’re bad at dodging plus reducing the chances of an accidental KO, this also will upgrade your defense skill. Also gives friendship points with Reinhardt for leveling defense.

When playing RF4, I never understood the harvest report part. It wasn't really something you could use to plan ahead. It seems much more convenient to actually be able to see 2 weeks ahead.

Useful for experienced players too! I've had the game beaten for a while now, and I never knew about the magnifying glass thing. Wish I knew about that earlier! Would've saved me a headache.😅 Also, the party relationship boosts. I figured inviting people would boost your friendship, but I didn't know it was that active. Cool. For easy money early on, the wood and lumber do sell for a considerable amount in the beginning of the game. Especially since, at least at the time of this comment, stump and rock durability resets when you leave the area via a loading zone. You can just keep whacking the same stump to get more wood for extensions and profit. I would recommend getting monsters that produce items every day. Makes getting their friendship levels up quicker, because the item will be something they love, generally. Especially the wasps. For some reason, honey sells for quite a lot. 510g for lvl 1. At lvl 10, it's 1020g. Since honey is an item they love, you can get their friendship up quicker. Imagine getting a nice 10k or so early on each day, assuming the game let's you get that many wasps. That's a gold mine early on. Edit: just saw your video about party members, specifically Elsje. Well now. That's something.

Yes, the graphics look like PS2 at best 🤣 But you can't compare a company with a bigger budget versus one that went bankrupt. Hopefully the next one will look way better with no frame rate issues 😅 Also I have no idea why, but Japanese RPGs/games aren't really graphically advanced, they usually stick to the old aesthetics and gaming engines. Only big game titles like Final Fantasy get to be decent.
I just got to Autumn and been playing pure but I've been a fan since RF2, magnifying glass crafting into farm equipment is something I never knew... gawd dam.
You should start by Rune Factory 1, 2 or 3 if you like a good mix of RPG, slice of life and farming sim. I didn't like RF 4 very much, the pacing is too fast, the plot isn't as good as the earlier games and it had too many (bad) jokes
Cool video, guys. Just a few corrections-bear with me. The tomato seeds you use at the beginning of the game are not from requests, but from a 2$ DLC that comes [earlier] with a pre-order. They will not be available to everyone. The Beginner Mark is not limited to once a day. You may bathe for free over and over again as many times as you want per day, receiving the same amount of bathing experience and refilling all your HP and RP, until you reach level 21. Difficulty does not affect spawn timing or count. Higher level random seeds when harvesting are not capped at crop level until level 3. A Bumper/Poor harvest will not mathematically change what is most efficient to grow-all factors considered. The poor crop negative bonus is just a flat, and temporary, -1 (when greater than 1). Soil health is responsible for any other lost crop numbers. Don't level up *all* your 9 DLC tomato seeds, as the money they provide will be drastically lowered, since you cannot harvest them in the time they take to regrow. Also, level 10 crops-which you will not be getting early game-only sell for 100% more, and would not be worth the 3 lost harvests. Selling Lumber early game is a great way to make money-especially considering both stumps and RP are infinitely renewable resources for free early game. Selling higher level lumber is optimal, since the money you get is significantly more, but 1 lumber is still just 1 lumber for building. This is more important for people who don't have, or have access to, the tomato preorder/DLC.
Few tips to add 1). Like in previous rf games you can see fish in the water. A great spot to find fish is the dock thats for tag team fishing. It opens fairly early in the game to. Its along the main river and it'll have a scene with Lucy. 2). Furniture can be delivered to various spots like your room make sure to keep the squares open. Its the square that your wardrobe is in. 3). Rp regenerates when you stand still. Its kinda slow but far better than nothing. 4). First boss is a piece of cake even on normal. Just make sure you have some food and armor. I only used a shirt and the first sword.
On #3 it also recharges in dialogue so if you want a recharge without losing in game time you can just talk to someone and leave it alone for a minute or 2
I pre ordered the Earth Mate edition from Xseed's website so I hope it arrives on time or on the day of at least. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it got delayed in shipping lol. Kirby and the Forgotten Land releases on the 25th and I still have Legends Arceus to play. Which yeah I've kinda spoiled myself on that one. Though I was kinda hoping to avoid as many spoilers for major games as much as possible and I know I'm not going to spoil myself for the Gen 9 Pokemon games it just ruins the experience. I don't care what the starters look like I just want to play and enjoy it. Though I am thankful for the spoiler-free tips!

I've read online that if you take Elsje to fight with you, she'll throw ultimate curry at you when your health is low and yet I can't get it to work. Is there some kind of requirement? Does she need to be a certain level or do we need to reach a certain fp level? Do you know about this?
They have their own routines and their daily schedules are indeed listed in the official Japanese guide. But I doubt you'd be needing to look it up a lot, since all characters' locations are marked on the map at all times ☺️👍

Ikr?! I love it 😱💗 I don't know the exact spawning rate, but the pink wooly can spawn in the same location like the white wooly. So it's actually quite easy to tame one pretty early in game 🥰
I’m worried that it won’t be as time consuming as RF4 as that’s the only one I’ve played. Is there replay value? Are the max levels of things still a lot? I remember in 4 the max level seemed endless. Have they improved anything in the western version? I just hope there’s as much to do as 4 or more
I’ve played 4 and I just started 5 about a week ago and I can say that I think it’s replay-able but it also depends on what you enjoy replaying it for. I want to marry every single candidate and find it as a challenge to restart each time. Rune factory 4 I only played once (I absolutely loved it but felt I didn’t need to replay it). With this one there is just so much to do I feel like I’d have to replay it to get the full experience. But this is all just my opinion. I hope you enjoy it!

So Ludmila unlocks in the 24th main scenario quest. That means, as long as you're constantly making progress in the main story, you should manage to eventually unlock her. For reference - I think you need to go through 7 boss fights until then😳

Yes there are 5 different farm dragons, each with 1 field that you can expand, and 2 barns, which you can also expand quite a lot. You actually have so much space!
These are gonna be very useful. Min maxing your farming in RF4 was pretty pointless since you could just have Clorica toss you Royal Curry everyday, here no sleepy maid so we gotta earn that money ourselves.

Beginner tip I wish I knew... not worth the money! Game went by way to quick, you can tell it was rushed the company was trying to push it out as fast as they could. I finished it in less than a month. Rune Factory 4 special I am STILL playing after 6 months with so much to do and story too!

The only game I’ve played similar to this is Stardew Valley and I love it. I also love JRPGs so my friend thought this would be a perfect fit. How do you turn the seed helper off?! I clicked I needed help out of curiosity but now if my health stays low too long the ranger will automatically heal me. Not only does it make the game easier but I can't have Elsje throw the royal curry at me anymore😭

I played rune factory 4 the first day it came out and I’ve been through it twice. I have been waiting for this game for a long time and this looks even way more beautiful then rf4… I am excited to play this game into the spring
There's benefits to both, at least in RF4. In the previous game having the soil info on all the time covered up part of the screen. I imagine 5 doesn't have that same problem though.
I honestly plan on buying the game tomorrow. I've just been watching as many videos (game play, reviews, tips, ect.) as possible before I buy it. Apparently it's super easy, even in hard mode, but the one downside to the game that I keep seeing is the graphics. To some degree they're fine, but it's annoying when it gets out of focus and blurry looking. Definitely some pros and cons, just like with any game, but I believe I'll still enjoy it, nonetheless.
Question On Tip #4 : If you upgrade your new farming tool with the magnifying glass, does it carry the magnifying glass skill on along with it? So upgrading your earliest tools with it is a good idea or a bad idea?
The best way to deal with sticks and rocks it's to pick up a bunch then set them all down. Repeat this till you got all of them in one little pile. Wack away at them till you've broke them all. Much quicker then running to each one to break it.
About the bathhouse, i believe you can have a free bath as long you are beginner ranger level and do not progress your rank by doing the wanted monster hunt. I was lvl 60 and did not progress my wanted monster list, was still able to get free baths unless i did not see the deduction from my money.
if you pick up the rocks and sticks into your inventory, you can place them on the ground in stacks of 9 and go to town with an axe or hammer instead of hitting them one by one on the ground
I've been playing for a little while and I honestly feel so lost, I've never played a rune factory game before and it seems so overwhelming to learn everything.

When I unlocked national baths I was bathing like 3 times a day sometimes. Lol

Sounds like the thing with Clorica giving you expensive food from RF4. I couldn't figure it out either.

Do you gain experience faster in hard mode or are the monsters just harder to kill?
In Easy Mode and Normal Mode, the EXP you get stay the same. But in Hard mode, you actually gain more EXP :)

I don't know the exact spawning rate, but the pink wooly can spawn in the same location like the white wooly.
So it's actually quite easy to tame one pretty early in game 🥰
How do we get the tamed monsters to plant seeds?
I’m worried that it won’t be as time consuming as RF4 as that’s the only one I’ve played. Is there replay value? Are the max levels of things still a lot? I remember in 4 the max level seemed endless. Have they improved anything in the western version? I just hope there’s as much to do as 4 or more
I’ve played 4 and I just started 5 about a week ago and I can say that I think it’s replay-able but it also depends on what you enjoy replaying it for. I want to marry every single candidate and find it as a challenge to restart each time. Rune factory 4 I only played once (I absolutely loved it but felt I didn’t need to replay it). With this one there is just so much to do I feel like I’d have to replay it to get the full experience. But this is all just my opinion. I hope you enjoy it!

So Ludmila unlocks in the 24th main scenario quest. That means, as long as you're constantly making progress in the main story, you should manage to eventually unlock her.
For reference - I think you need to go through 7 boss fights until then😳

Never played Rune Factory but why farm and barn are small can we make them bigger later?
Yes there are 5 different farm dragons, each with 1 field that you can expand, and 2 barns, which you can also expand quite a lot. You actually have so much space!
These are gonna be very useful. Min maxing your farming in RF4 was pretty pointless since you could just have Clorica toss you Royal Curry everyday, here no sleepy maid so we gotta earn that money ourselves.
I didn't bring Clorica for that very reason. Lol

Beginner tip I wish I knew... not worth the money! Game went by way to quick, you can tell it was rushed the company was trying to push it out as fast as they could. I finished it in less than a month. Rune Factory 4 special I am STILL playing after 6 months with so much to do and story too!

Ok Rune Factory community I’m gonna need your help. This is my first Rune Factory game. I decided to pick this up on a friend’s suggestion. The only game I’ve played similar to this is Stardew Valley and I love it. I also love JRPGs so my friend thought this would be a perfect fit. How do you turn the seed helper off?! I clicked I needed help out of curiosity but now if my health stays low too long the ranger will automatically heal me. Not only does it make the game easier but I can't have Elsje throw the royal curry at me anymore😭
Thanks, Josh. This will come in handy when I get the game finally. I've played several versions of the game so far. Frontier is still my favorite because I liked Cinnamon and her sister. Even though I don't like playing as a guy. Not against guys just not a guy.

I played rune factory 4 the first day it came out and I’ve been through it twice. I have been waiting for this game for a long time and this looks even way more beautiful then rf4… I am excited to play this game into the spring

In rune factory 4 I usually put the magnifying glass on clothing, that way I only need one and it doesn't matter what tools I'm holding.

There's benefits to both, at least in RF4. In the previous game having the soil info on all the time covered up part of the screen. I imagine 5 doesn't have that same problem though.

I honestly plan on buying the game tomorrow. I've just been watching as many videos (game play, reviews, tips, ect.) as possible before I buy it. Apparently it's super easy, even in hard mode, but the one downside to the game that I keep seeing is the graphics. To some degree they're fine, but it's annoying when it gets out of focus and blurry looking. Definitely some pros and cons, just like with any game, but I believe I'll still enjoy it, nonetheless.
Question On Tip #4 : If you upgrade your new farming tool with the magnifying glass, does it carry the magnifying glass skill on along with it? So upgrading your earliest tools with it is a good idea or a bad idea?
Aye as excited as I am for this game and I know spending the $80 on the earth mate edition Is on me buuuut OOFF these graphics look like PS2.
this one you can ship the Seed and that will level it up as well
The best way to deal with sticks and rocks it's to pick up a bunch then set them all down. Repeat this till you got all of them in one little pile. Wack away at them till you've broke them all. Much quicker then running to each one to break it.
About the bathhouse, i believe you can have a free bath as long you are beginner ranger level and do not progress your rank by doing the wanted monster hunt. I was lvl 60 and did not progress my wanted monster list, was still able to get free baths unless i did not see the deduction from my money.
if you pick up the rocks and sticks into your inventory, you can place them on the ground in stacks of 9 and go to town with an axe or hammer instead of hitting them one by one on the ground

I did have a question though, is there a way to find out what levels each dungeon is? When I was first starting off I was severely under leveled; and even with the colour coded system, it was hard to tell if I could beat a monster until I was right up close to it...
Tip 8- If I can't marry Misasagi I can at least bring her with me to beat up on woolies! lol
