What is Hinduism?
Hinduism, the religion of over a billion people, is the world’s oldest religion and the most confusing one to non-Hindus. It makes billions of people around the world ask, What is Hinduism? Some say it isn’t even a religion, more a way of life. Hindus themselves call it Sanātana Dharma, the eternal tradition. So what is Hinduism, does YOLO apply to them, and who is that elephant god?
Hinduism is the world's oldest active religion. It's the result of the merging of the ancient Indus Valley civilisation and nomads that came into India around 1500BC. Some scholars say it could even go back many more thousands of years.
Hinduism has a long long history. But today we'll be focusing just on the core beliefs of Hindus because I don't have the willpower to animate a 3-hour video.
Hinduism is so diverse, so deep, and means so many different things to different people. Learning even the basics of this fascinating and ancient religion gives us an insight into the worldview of over a billion people.

@Proud Bangladeshi গর্বিত বাংলাদেশী well You are Right but also somewhere wrong too ...
And lol let me be honest , We Indians think Bangladesh & Pakistan is Ours 😅 , I mean in Good way .
But also the fact that it was Pakistan which got "separated" in 1947 from India and then "East Pakistan" in 1971 from Pakistan .
So before 1947 all was India(Modern name) !
1700-1947(British India)
1100-1700(Hindustan)
Pre-1100 , it was *"Mahajanpadas"* (Various kingdoms) ,
And Gupta Empire and Mauryan Empire around 300A.D. to 600A.D.
In North India (Afghanistan to Myannmar)
And in South India there were Pallava , Pandya , Chola and cheras dynasty .
And before that it was all pre vedic period i.e. 1000B.C. to 200A.D. when Hinduism was born and Vedas were written by Sages ..
And before 2000B.C. it was Indus valley civilizations .
And lol before that it was we Humans rubbing stones to make fire 😂😂

Just a little nitpick to an awesome and helpful video, the ancient greeks didn't drop the H they just didn't write aspirations for some reason, modern and medieval Greek dropped most aspirations from the beginning of words
WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT BEING A HINDU (sanatana dharmi)?
1) Believe in God ! - Aastik - Accepted
2) Don't believe in God ! - You're accepted as Nastik
3) You want to worship idols - please go ahead. You are a murti pujak.
4) You dont want to worship idols - no problem. You can focus on Nirguna Brahman-shapeless, formless ,infinite, without beginning or end(nirvikalpa brahama)
5) You want to criticise something in our religion. Come forward. We are logical. Nyaya, Tarka etc. are core Hindu schools.
6) You want to accept beliefs as it is. Most welcome. Please go ahead with it.
7) You want to start your journey by reading Bhagvad Gita - Sure!
8) You want to start your journey by reading Upanishads -Go ahead.
9) You want to start your journey by reading Purana -Be my guest.
10) You just don't like reading Puranas or other books. No problem my dear. Go by Bhakti tradition . ( bhakti- devotion)
11) You don't like idea of Bhakti ! No problem. Do your Karma. Be a karmayogi.
12) You want to enjoy life. Very good. No problem at all. This is Charvaka Philosophy.
13) You want to abstain from all the enjoyment of life & find God - jai ho ! Be a Sadhu, an ascetic !
14) You don't like the concept of God. You believe in Nature only -Welcome.(Trees are our friends and Prakriti or nature is worthy of worship).
15) You believe in one God or Supreme Energy. Superb!Follow Advaita philosophy
16) You want a Guru.Go ahead.Receive gyaan.(gyan yoga)
17) You don't want a Guru.. Help yourself ! Meditate, Study !(still gyana or raj yoga)
18) You believe in Female energy ! Shakti is worshipped.
19) You believe that every human being is equal. Yeah! You're awesome, come on let's celebrate Hinduism!
"Vasudhaiva kutumbakam" (the world is a family)
20) You don't have time to celebrate the festival.
Don't worry. One more festival is coming! There are multiple festivals every single day of the year.
21) You are a working person. Don't have time for religion. Its okay. You will still be a Hindu.
22) You like to go to temples. Devotion is loved.
23) You don't like to go to temples - no problem. You are still a Hindu!
24) You know that Hinduism ☺ is a way of life, with considerable freedom.
25) You believe that everything has God in it. So you worship your mother, father, guru, tree, River, Prani-matra, Earth, Universe!
26) And If you don't believe that everything has GOD in it - No problems. Respect your viewpoint.
27) "Sarve jana sukhino bhavantu " (May you all live happily)
You represent this! You're free to choose, my dear Hindu!
This is exactly the essence of Hinduism, all inclusive .. That is why it has withstood the test of time inspite of repeated onslaught both from within and outside, and assimilated every good aspects from everything . That is why it is eternal !!!
There is a saying in Rigveda , the first book ever known to mankind which depicts the Hinduism philosophy in a Nutshell -" Ano bhadrah Krathavo Yanthu Vishwathah"- Let the knowledge come to us from every direction "

Few things of HINDUISM I want to share with you and everyone:
1) Hinduism/Sanatan Dharma is only biggest religion in world who worships female Goddesses equally as well. Other religions only says that their God is male, not female....but only Hinduism believes in this that universe is made up from both masculine energy as well as feminine energy, so we worships Goddesses equally.
2) Hinduism is only religion who gives rights to transgenders as well. Hinduism embraces transgenders similarly as any male or female. Transgender specially worships Lord Shiva as their isht-dev.
3) Hinduism allows atheism as well. Hinduism holy books gives full rights to atheism as to find own ways for their moksha/purpose of life.
4) Hinduism says or teaches about "Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam" which means "whole world is one family" so treat everyone of world as a family members.
5) In Bhagwat Gita, KRISHNA says "Karm kiye ja, fal ki chinta na kar" which means "do your duty/karma without worrying about the fruit of your duty/karma". It's one of the very powerful message to humanity.
5) KRISHNA says "wherever there is no respect of women, that home/region/kingdom/civilisation gonna be destroyed by Karma through the will of KRISHNA"
7) Hinduism never says that if you won't worship me or believe me, then you will be burn in hell or any kind of threats. But Hinduism always says to surrender your sorrows, pain and joy in feet of KRISHNA or SHIVA (or if you worship goddess Maa Parvati or Maa Kali). विष्णू पुराण describes Earth to be lotus--shaped. Now lotus most definitely is a Three Dimensional object and it is surely not any kinda 2D object. Which means, Vishnu Puuranaa has indeed admitted the earth to be *non* flat. A lotus can never be a flat surface (or a Two Dimensional Plane).

You just earned a like and subscriber.
To anyone who is considering or is already practicing Hinduism, please listen to my words. I used to be caught up in Hinduism and new-age thought. I believe I saw the end of that path, and it is not good. I started to have panic attacks and constant anxiety. One night, in desperation, I cried out to God. I asked Him to reveal Himself to me as He really is. Over the next few months, He led me to Jesus Christ. I declare that Jesus Christ is King, Lord of Lords, and the Savior of all. The Bible says in Romans, "So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God". However, it also says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."
"Rom 10:5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
Rom 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
Rom 10:7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
Rom 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. "
I urge you to turn to Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no man entereth unto The Father but by Him.
All glory and honor and praise be to The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Amen.
