when i was homeless, a sikh man used to come and bring me food every night, wish i could remember his name
Edit: to everyone criticising me for not remembering his name I was in a very dark place in my life, and most of the time I would just say "mate" or "pal" when we spoke and we talked about more important things than names, he listened to me when the rest of the world closed their eyes to my pain, he seen me talking McDonald's out of a bin when I met him with hundreds of people walking past like I didn't exist so before you criticise me walk a mile in my shoes, to everyone being nice though, thank you so much for the kind words ♥️☺️

A Sikh family owned the convenience store on the street where I grew up. I’d go to buy a can of pop and stand at the register for half an hour talking to the owner about the religion, life, philosophy, random stuff like that. When his mother was on the register we’d do the same. When I got into university they were so happy for me they told me to walk around the store and take what I wanted for free 😂 I just asked for a bag of sweets and a can of pop.
My mum died two years into my uni course, and when I went into the store to buy cigarettes (I’m a stress smoker), the family truly felt for me. The elderly mum hugged me, it felt like such a powerful moment bc I didn’t have any family left. They came to our house that day and gave me like £500, and on the day of the funeral they all stood outside the store as the hearse drove passed. I’ll never forget seeing it.
This video explains so much of how they treated me so kindly. They knew I was from a poor background and couldn’t afford a funeral all on my own, they knew that I lived in an unsafe area and were proud to see me grow up and claw my way out with a good education.
They sold the store last year to get themselves out of that same bad neighbourhood. I’ve never been treated with such honest kindness before, and it shocked me at the time. Truly lovely people. I don’t think I could ever be that generous.

Sikhs and Panjabi's in general are famed for their fighting and rebellious traditions. But more importantly, the core tenets of justice and freedom of religious practice for all are truly admirable and i'm pretty sure there are countless stories from partition times of Panjabi's helping and shielding people on both sides of the religious divide from religious extremists/militants.
They are respected by all Indians for their strength and nobility of their convictions, as well as the loyalty that they seem to exemplify and revere in their traditions. It's why within India, some of the most fearsome elements of the military are from Panjab and they have been at the border with Pakistan as front line troops for decades now.
They also try to secede sometimes and one of them that was a radical killed Indira Gandhi...but overall my experiences with Sikh's has been almost unequivocally positive.
Either way, the depth, beauty and honour of their religion is profound. And India wouldn't be what it is without Sikhism.

Listed are some contradictions in Sikhism :
It teaches the contradictory concepts of God being Sargun i.e. with attributes and also Nirgun -without attributes (p287; p102).
It teaches reincarnation and yet the Guru Granth questions reincarnation(p748 M5; p1366 Kabir).
It teaches the concept of hell (p465 M1; p524 M5; p793 Ravidass; p875 Ravidass; p1383 Farid; Asa Kabirji GGS p484). And yet says hell does not exist (p969 Kabir). And it also teaches the mutually exclusive concept of karma & transmigration. If you are born again and again to pay for the sins of previous lives, why the need for hell or heaven? (p686; p156; Rag Malhar M3; Rag Gauri M5)
The Guru Granth says neither Hinduism nor Islam has the truth (p329 Kabir; p875 Namdev) and yet says that the opposite (contrary) is also true(p1350 Kabir).Guru Arjun Dev even validates the Vedas (p632 M5). And guru Govind Singh says Allah & Abhek (Ram) are the same and the Koran and Hindu scriptures are the same (Akal Ustat vs 16:86).
It claims that there is only one way to God (p920 M3; p1279 M1) and yet the Guru Granth also teaches there are many ways to God (p885 M5.7. It teaches that all humans are children of God ( p1118 M4) yet also says, not all, but only those who love Him are His children (p658 Ravidass).
The guru says that he is blind, ignorant and without enlightenment (p696 M4) yet he is called 'guru', which means one who leads from darkness to light.
It teaches the existence of Heaven (p718 Namdev; p952 M3) yet the concept of Heaven is rejected(p969 Kabir).
It teaches that the world is a dream, an illusion and not real (p740 M5; p1187 M9 p1231 M9)yet guru Nanak says it is real (p463 M1).
Guru Arjun Dev claims that he was given supernatural powers (p782 M5) yet guru Nanak, admitted to the Siddh yogis that he performed no miracles(Bhai Gurdas // 1.42/43)
The Guru Granth rejects the Vedas (p329 Kabir) yet Guru Arjun Dev validates the Vedas (p632 M5). He also quotes them as though an authority(p632 M5). Guru Nanak also quotes them as though an authority (p831 M1).The fourth guru does the same and quotes them as though an authority (p998 M4). Namdev quotes the Gita as though an authority (p874 Namdev). Ravidass quotes the sage Vyas as though an authority (p658 Ravidass).
The Guru Granth says that everything was created by the agency of millions of Brahmas (p1156 M5). Yet the one God created everything ( p1 M1).
Dhanna jat is said to have worshipped a stone and God appeared to him. Yet stone worshipping is condemned (p1160 Kabir).
Guru Granth gives no account of the creation of man and in fact says the Semitic books are false (p329 Kabir). Yet itself validates the existence of Baba Adam (p1161 Kabir).
The Guru Granth teaches that God does not incarnate (p1136 M5) yet talks of the Nehklank Avatar (p1403 Swayyas).
The gurus never called themselves divine, but in fact sinners in need of salvation by the Grace of God. (p156 M1; p536 M5; p261 M5; M5 p1301). Yet Swayyas sing praises and laudations to them and make them divine (p1405 Swayyas; p1407 Swayyas; p1408 Swayyas; p1409 Swayyas).
It teaches monism i.e. all is one reality and God is all (p846 M5; p464 // M1; p1291 // Malar M1; p131 Majh M5. Yet says that man is not the same essence as God but only resembles Him (p754 Suhi M3).

@@Randomhandlename Listed are some flaws and contradictions in Islam:
      1. Some Cosmological Flaws: (Scientific contradictions)
      (1) God created the Heaven first or, the Earth first (?)
Which one was created first? As you will see in the verses below, Allah at one time says that Earth was created first and another time He says that the Heaven was created first.
Quran-2:29: It is He who hath created for you all things that are on Earth; THEN He turned to the Heaven and made them into seven firmaments (Skies)….
Quran- 79:27-30: Are you the harder to create, or is the heaven that He built ? He raised the height thereof and ordered it; and He has made dark the night thereof, and He brought forth the morning thereof. And after that, He spread (flattened) the earth.
Now, does it match modern science? Do you believe that, Earth was created first, and after that, God created Heaven? Does modern science tell us that?
      Numerical Contradictions
There are many numerical contradictions in the Quran. God cannot make an error in doing simple calculations.
How many days did it take to create the Heavens and the Earth?
Quran-7:54: Your guardian-Lord is Allah who created the heavens and earth in Six Days
Quran-10:3: Verily your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and earth in Six Days
Quran- 11:7: He it is Who created the heavens and earth in Six Days
Quran-25:29: He Who created the heavens and earth and all that is between, in Six Days
The above verses clearly state that Allah ( God) created the heavens and the Earth in 6 days. But the verses below stated
Quran-41:9 : Is it that ye deny Him who created the earth in Two Days ?
Quran- 41:10: He set on the (earth) Mountains standing firm high above it, and bestowed blessing on the earth, and measured therein all things to give them nourishment in due proportion, in FOUR DAYS…
Quran-41:12: So He completed them (heavens) as seven firmaments in Two days and …
Now do the math: 2 (for earth) + 4 (for nourishment) + 2 (for heavens) = 8 days; and not 6 days.
You can see similar mistakes in the verses: Quran-4:11, 4:12, and 4: 176 in inheritance law. In these verses one can see the total property after adding all distributed parts adds up more than the available property, i.e., the totals become more than 1 which are: 1.125 and 1.25. How come? A gross mathematical error, is it not? Allah’s Days Equal to 1000 Years or 50,000 Years?
Quran-22:47: A day in the sight of the Lord is like a thousand years of your reckoning.
Quran-32:5: To Him, on a Day, the space whereof will be a thousand years of your reckoning
Quran-70:4: The angels and the spirit ascend unto him in a day the measure whereof is fifty thousand years.
So, which one is it? Is the day of Allah equal to 1,000 earth years or 50,000 earth years? Creation of the Heavens and the Earth Which one was created first? As you will see in the verses below, Allah at one time says that Earth was created first and another time he says that the Heavens were created first.
Quran-2:29: It is He who hath created for you all things that are on Earth; THEN He turned to the Heavens and made them into seven firmaments (Skies)….
Quran- 79:27-30: Are you the harder to create, or is the heaven that He built? He raised the height thereof and ordered it, and He has made dark the night thereof, and He brought forth the morning thereof. And after that, He spread (flattened) the earth
Now, does it match modern science? Do you believe that, Earth was created first, and after that, God created Heaven? Does modern science tell us that? Or that there are SEVEN firmaments (layers)? Modern science tells us that, actually there is no such thing as a firmament or any roof over us, it is only a space with no known boundary at all. These verses simply reinforce the ancient idea of a ROOF over us which is called the SKY! How funny!
      Sunset and Sunrise
The Quran teaches us that the Sun sets in a muddy spring:
Quran-18:86: Till, when he (the traveler Zul-qarnain) reached the setting-place of the Sun, he found it going down into a muddy spring…
Quran- 18:90: Till, when he reached the rising-place of the Sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had appointed no shelter from it.
There are serious scientific errors here. Firstly, it is a scientifically accepted fact that the Sun never goes down into a muddy spring. Secondly, this seems to presuppose a FLAT Earth, otherwise how can there be an extreme point in the West or in the East? A sunrise there would be basically just the same as at any other place on this earth, at land or sea. It would still look as if it is setting “far away.” It does say, that he reached THE PLACE where the Sun sets and in his second journey THE PLACE where it rises.
A Resting Place for the Sun?
Quran-36:38: And the Sun runneth on unto a resting place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise.
Quran-36:39: And for the moon, We have appointed mansions till she return like an old shriveled palm leaf.
Quran-36:40: It is not for Sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit.
      2. Self-contradictory Quranic verses
      Which one is correct:
Quran-2:256: There is no Compulsion in religion….
      OR
Quran-9:29: Fight those who do not profess the true faith (Islam) till they pay the polltax (jiziya) with the hand of humility.
Quran-9:5: Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them and take them captive, and besiege them and prepare for them each ambush….
Quran-47:4: When you meet the unbelievers in the Jihad strike off their heads….
Quran-2:191: And slay (kill) them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out such is the reward of those who suppress faith.
Quran-8: 65: O Apostle! Rouse the believers to the fight…(against) unbelievers.
Very often apologetics claim that, Islam is a religion of peace and there is no compulsion. Yet, punishment of an apostate in Islam is, of course, the death penalty.

2:29 He it is Who created for you all that is on earth. Then He Istawa (rose over) towards the heaven and made them seven heavens and He is the All-Knower of everything.
Where does it say he created the earth first? It literally says he spread the earth then rose over towards the “HEAVEN” and made them seven heaven. So you can see the heaven was already there and he made them seven

      Luke 6

²⁷ "But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
²⁸ bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.
²⁹ To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either.
³⁰ Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.
³¹ And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.
³² But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
³³ And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
³⁴ And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back.
³⁵ But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.
³⁶ Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.
³⁷ Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven."

I'm from a Hindu family in Bengal. Although agnostic myself, I'm proud of my heritage. The Hindus really are indebted to the Sikhs as they protected our ancestors from multiple attacks and religious aggression throughout ages. And then happened the anti-Sikh riots in 1984 carried out by the Congress in independent India.
I bow my head in shame for the all the Sikh blood that flowed during that time in the hands of the perpetrators who mostly belonged from the community that was protected by the Sikhs for hundreds of years.
      13. The Guru Granth teaches that God does not incarnate (p1136 M5) yet talks of the Nehklank Avatar (p1403 Swayyas).
      15. It teaches monism i.e. all is one reality and God is all (p846 M5; p464 // M1; p1291 // Malar M1; p131 Majh M5. Yet says that man is not the same essence as God but only resembles Him (p754 Suhi M3).

“They may be shown the way, but only a few go there. Without the karma of good actions, heaven is not attained.” P952
“There, only the Truth is judged true; the sinners are picked out and separated. The false find no place there, and they go to hell with their faces blackened. P463”
“What is hell, and what is heaven? The Saints reject them both. I have no obligation to either of them, by the Grace of my Guru.” P969

Jedi deal in extremes, just like the Sith.
The difference between them is that the Jedi religion instructs people to discard all their emotions in order to become neutral guides for all living beings, while the Sith religion encourages people to use their raw emotions as a source of strength.
A big part of the Old Republic, the Prequels and the Sequels is that both groups think they hold the absolute truth when in reality they are incomplete.
Sikhs don't try to discard their emotions and they never claim that every other religion besides their own is wrong.

³⁷ "Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven."

We have many Sikhs living here in England and I've never met a single one I didn't like. They're an invaluable part of our community, they do more for the homeless here than any other group, including our own government, and they truly live by all of the morals and beliefs you state in this video, hard work, community, equality, generosity, right down to the kirpan being only a weapon to defend and never attack, I've never known a Sikh to go looking for a fight, but I've also never known a Sikh to back down when some idiot insists on causing trouble with them. Truly admirable people and as an English Catholic I firmly believe many of the problems we have in this country would disappear if we took note of Sikh teachings.

Free man, u really underestimate Sikhism and the other religions.
Firstly, hindus do believe in god. If u read the gita, ved and and the purans u will get to know that they talk about 1 god. The others are just deities (devis and devtas).
And listen, Nirankaris are not counted as sikhs, they are not sikhs. U will understand once you understand who sikhs actually are. But unfortunately u don’t, and u talk without knowledge. All religions are similar because they have a common truth and they all believe in that one almighty.
And yes, u r right that Hindus don’t fight others cuz they fight each other. Pandavs fought kauravs in mahabharat. Well let me tell u this. In 1984, Indra Gandhi ( being a Hindu) planned an attack on the golden temple with the army commanders who were all Hindus too. They killed over 50,000 innocent sikhs in just 3-4days. Later on in 1984, in the Sikh genocide, sikhs were being killed by Hindus. But listen not all Hindus are bad.
So u can’t say all religions are bad and Hinduism is the best. Because even the dirties in ur religion fought against the demons and even lost so many battles against them. Ramayan and mahabharat. There are so many wars that were fought in Hinduism. So I suggest that u should improve ur knowledge.
There are commandments in the gita, puraans and the vedas.
The karma is a principle given by god
Ur saying Hindus know the truth, well u don’t. U don’t know anything about god.
Sikhism teaches about how the lord is infinite, and his creation is infinite too.
Sikhism told us about the earth being round, which was discovered a few centuries ago.
Sikhism told us about millions of millions of galaxies which have millions of planets, which is also discovered a century ago
Sikhism tells us how the world began with a sound “ooang”, and the universe expanded from there and still expands, which can show the Big Bang.
Sikhism talks about many species and their unique behaviour, which are only being discovered now.
Well these are only just a few example of many. The lord is omnipotent. Sikhism tells us how we cannot comprehend and understand the infinite lord. So how can we understand his creation?. If I have said anything wrong, I humbly ask for forgiveness from all.

It teaches the contradictory concepts of God being Sargun i.e. with attributes and also Nirgun -without attributes (p287; p102).

Just some things missed about the turban. The reason why the turban is important to Sikhs is because it was one of the core instructions from Guru Gobind Singh who declared all Sikhs to wear a turban.
There is a story about one of the reasons starting from when one of the Mughal Kings who was oppressing the people and outlawing anyone non-muslim from wearing turbans (Royal Muslim princes wore turbans only). As a sign of rebellion the Guru instructed all SIkhs to wear turbans, twice the size to stand out even more. Many Sikhs died to uphold freedom of expression and freedom of belief.
This may give a small insight on the importance of the turban to a Sikh and why under no circumstance does a Sikh willingly remove the turban even if they become targets in todays Islamaphobic world via mistaken identity.

I am from India ... And unfortunately I have met really awesome and really awful people belonging to all religions.. including Sikhism... But I do believe that if a person truly follows a spiritual path (be any of any religion) they can't be shitty cos of their own moral code of conduct..... So practicing Sikhs or genuinely (not the Nazi version of religion that is popularized) practicing Hindus or Muslims or anything can't be shitty

      Here’s one example
It teaches the existence of Heaven (p718 Namdev; p952 M3) yet the concept of Heaven is rejected(p969 Kabir).
“Prays Naam Dayv, I have become a man of good deeds and good thoughts. Chanting the Lord‟s Name, under Guru‟s Instructions, who has not gone to heaven?” P718
      Here’s another example
The Guru Granth teaches that God does not incarnate (p1136 M5) yet talks of the Nehklank Avatar (p1403 Swayyas).
“Let that mouth be burnt, which says that our Lord and Master is subject to birth. || 3 || He is not born, and He does not die; He does not come and go in reincarnation” p1136
“The Lord of contemplation, Destroyer of sin, who brings pleasure to the beings of all realms, He Himself is the God of gods, Divinity of the divine, the thousand-headed king cobra. He took birth in the Incarnations of the Fish, Tortoise and Wild Boar, and played His part” p1403

      13. The Guru Granth teaches that God does not incarnate (p1136 M5) yet talks of the Nehklank Avatar (p1403 Swayyas).
      15. It teaches monism i.e. all is one reality and God is all (p846 M5; p464 // M1; p1291 // Malar M1; p131 Majh M5. Yet says that man is not the same essence as God but only resembles Him (p754 Suhi M3).

Secondly, seva (selfless service) is an act of service for mankind. Not just for the Sikhs own community. This is what a Sikh lives for. Exactly why they have a unique identity. So they can be spotted in a crowd if you are in trouble. This is God's true army. The only faith that is in line with science. Read the Guru Granth Sahib, which will explain the Big Bang Theory.

You can not understand the deep wisdom that Guru Sahib Ji is trying to give us just by reading Guru Granth Sahib ji or the shabad's (Hymn's) translation. We are not that wise and qualified. We need someone who is blessed with this gift.
You, not liking such a great channel- Basics of Sikhi, doesn't really make sense to me. Because they are amazingly conveying the message of Guru Sahib ji. You know sometimes we just don't 'want' to listen to and understand someone.
I advise you to listen to them with an open mind. What I mean by an open mind is to accept and acknowledge what they're trying to convey. Don't let 'your thoughts' put you in confusion or stop the wisdom from abiding in your heart.

Christ taught peace 1500 years before Sihkism.
      Luke 6
      ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

As another atheist (and anti-theist), I guess I don't hate Sikhism with the passion that I have for hating the other major religions. In fact, the thing I mind most about it is the ban on personal grooming (no hair cutting), which is on a very different level from the thing I mind most about for example Islam: which is the death penalty for apostasy.
So, Sikhs, the hair thing is kinda gross, but whatever. Carry on being nice to people, who can mind that?
As for the rest of you... why can't you be more like the Sikhs?

ans. Kabir is not denying reincarnation. He is telling 'one should dies such a death they shall never die again' which means get liberated and you won't take another birth in first place.
      3. (p686; p156; Rag Malhar M3; Rag Gauri M5)
ans. Hell in sikhi means rebirth. Even mother's womb is considered hell. Kabir Denying hell means saints are not joining places like hell or heaven because they are liberated. True heaven is liberation because some realms are also considered heaven as Final Goal but in Sikhi, liberation is superior. Your birth in such heaven or hell depends on your karma. These are realms where you reborn to pay for past karmas, you either get pain in hell or pleasure in heaven.
      4. The Guru Granth Sahib says neither Hinduism nor Islam has the truth (p329 Kabir; p875 Namdev) and yet says that the opposite (contrary) is also true(p1350 Kabir).Guru Arjun Dev even validates the Vedas (p632 M5). And guru Govind Singh says Allah & Abhek (Ram) are the same and the Koran and Hindu scriptures are the same (Akal Ustat vs 16:86).
ans. Kabir is calling out muslims for their hypocritical behaviour. Guru is not validating vedas but saying what vedas mention about current age. Allah and Ram are same because God has countless names and holy books are referred as same because they play same role for their believers. Regarding holy books, Gurus said reading religious books are important because they do contain wisdom and they agree on many common themes specially indian ones, but does not guarantee liberation because if a person (including sikhs) don't understand the meaning or deny to read them because of ego or if someone is expert in these books but they are full of ego, greedy, or there holy books tells one to hurt others, then these books are called useless.
      5. It claims that there is only one way to God (p920 M3; p1279 M1) and yet the Guru Granth Sahib also teaches there are many ways to God (p885 M5.7. It teaches that all humans are children of God ( p1118 M4) yet also says, not all, but only those who love Him are His children (p658 Ravidass).
ans. Yes there is only one God to reach him there is only one way, in other page (ang) guru is saying people refer that one God with different names not many ways or different gods. Yes everyone are children of God but Bhagat Ravidas is raising a moral statement that 'only those who love him are his children' just like in real life when someone abondon their parents we say 'you are not their true child'.
      6. The guru says that he is blind, ignorant and without enlightenment (p696 M4) yet he is called guru, which means one who leads from darkness to light.
ans. Guru is calling himself blind, ignorant and without enlightenment out of humility, one of the five virtues of a good sikh. True guru or satguru is God/Vaheguru. Also this bani belongs to fourth guru. Read about his life and know yourself.
      7. It teaches the existence of Heaven (p718 Namdev; p952 M3) yet the concept of Heaven is rejected(p969 Kabir).
ans. Concept of heaven - already answered in question 3.
      8. It teaches that the world is a dream, an illusion and not real (p740 M5; p1187 M9 p1231 M9)yet guru Nanak says it is real (p463 M1).
ans. Read full context, yes everything is real but world is considered dream or illusion metaphorically because like things in a dream are useless, nothing shall go along with you in the end. Like a dream your life will pass away in an instant and you will die regretting that you did not remembered Vaheguru.
      9. Guru Arjun Dev claims that he was given supernatural powers (p782 M5) yet guru Nanak, admitted to the Siddh yogis that he performed no miracles(Bhai Gurdas // 1.42/43)
ans. Sikhi does not deny the existence of supernatural powers because they are common among siddhas as they are sign of spritual progress. Sikhi deny their use for personal gains or attract followers by showing magic tricks or harassing others.
      10. The Guru Granth Sahib rejects the Vedas (p329 Kabir) yet Guru Arjun Dev validates the Vedas (p632 M5). He also quotes them as though an authority(p632 M5). Guru Nanak also quotes them as though an authority (p831 M1).The fourth guru does the same and quotes them as though an authority (p998 M4). Namdev quotes the Gita as though an authority (p874 Namdev). Ravidass quotes the sage Vyas as though an authority (p658 Ravidass).
ans. SGGS says these books exist because God wants them to exist. Read your books but don't get attached to them and develop ego. Naam simran is superior to any book. Gurus / Bhagats are not confirming their authority anywhere here. Similar concept in indic faith is mentioned in these i.e. worshipping that one God with devotion. These books hold authority over their believers for sure. Check answer 4.
      11. The Guru Granth Sahib says that everything was created by the agency of millions of Brahmas (p1156 M5). Yet the one God created everything ( p1 M1).
ans. One God created everything because he is the only creator but gods like brahma exist in many cultures & mythologies who created worlds, they are considered representation of power / particular expect of God / agents, all the credit goes to Vaheguru. Guru is saying Vaheguru even created them he is so great!
      12. Dhanna jat is said to have worshipped a stone and God appeared to him. Yet stone worshipping is condemned (p1160 Kabir).Guru Granth Sahib gives no account of the creation of man and in fact says the Semitic books are false (p329 Kabir). Yet itself validates the existence of Baba Adam (p1161 Kabir).
ans. Yes idol worshipping is prohibited. Read story of Bhagat Dhanna worshipping stone on internet to know full context. Many Bhagats switched from idol/deity/avatar worshipping to Formless worshipping such as Bhagat Dhanna and Pipa. SGGS is not a science book neither claims to be but mentions creation of men / everything in Maru M1 Ang 1036. Bhagat Kabir is referring to social conditions of that time i.e. people reading holy books like a book worm but not understanding them which binds our society in chains because priests and qazis were leading forces. On other hand he is talking about different religious believes of people such as Adam from abrahmic & 8.4 million incarnations in indic all are made by God.
      13. The Guru Granth Sahib teaches that God does not incarnate (p1136 M5) yet talks of the Nehklank Avatar (p1403 Savaiye).
ans. Yes, Vaheguru i.e. Formless God is beyond birth and death. Read full context, that one God is considered source of all avatars. Avatars in sikhi means one who recognised one God within him and others so people refer them as God taking birth because they can't recognize God within them. Ofcourse they were born physically.
      14. The Gurus never called themselves divine, but in fact sinners in need of salvation by the Grace of God. (p156 M1; p536 M5; p261 M5; M5 p1301). Yet Savaiye sing praises and laudations to them and make them divine (p1405 Savaiye; p1407 Savaiye; p1408 Savaiye; p1409 Savaiye).
ans. As i said earlier Gurus called themselves sinners and lowly out of humility to make an example and be a good role model for Sikhs. Yes they were divine, we do not need proof from outsiders.
      15. It teaches monism i.e. all is one reality and God is all (p846 M5; p464 // M1; p1291 // Malar M1; p131 Majh M5. Yet says that man is not the same essence as God but only resembles Him (p754 Suhi M3).
ans. Just like water in ocean and water in a drop are same but drop of water in terms of vastness and glory is nothing compared to ocean and only resembles it. Same with your soul and Supreme Soul.
If you read these pages (ang) even in English you will find out how out of context these questions are and some of them are totally made up, for example there is no Bani of Guru Arjun on p632 (question 10) but i used Gurbani to answer them anyway.

There is a convenience store I stop at after work every day where I get my daily beer and cigarettes haha. The store is run by a man that is always very friendly towards me, giving me a warm smile and sincerely asking me how my day was. It’s especially touching since I have to deal with a lot of very rude, close minded people in my work.
I’ve heard a lot of mean comments about the “Muslims” that run the store from my coworkers and fellow community members, so I thought I would look up turbans on google to see exactly what faith this man belonged to. I now know he is a Sikh. Hearing their core beliefs, I am saddened that I didn’t learn about it earlier!
What a beautiful faith to practice. His kindness towards me, and everyone else, now makes a lot more sense… I’d like to strike up a conversation with him tomorrow and learn more about him and his faith.

A little history about the Sikhs... They were the last military opposition to the British Empire in India and the last kingdom to fall due to treachery within it's military by a general. This led to the death of Maharaja Ranjit Singh The Lion Of Punjab who was the ruler of Punjab at the time.
Another interesting fact you may not know is that the world famous The Kohinoor Diamond was set in an armband that Maharaja Ranjit Singh wore on his arm, and handed down to his young son Maharaja Duleep Singh.
Maharaja Duleep Singh the last Marharaja of Punjab and son of Maharaja Ranjit Singh was 11 years old when he was kidnapped from his mother Maharani Jind in Lahore, Punjab by the British and taken to live with Queen Victoria. This was done to ensure that the Sikh Nation and its military "The Khalsa" could never reform and unite under one strong leader again, especially the son of such a feared (by the British and others), respected and loved Maharaja as Ranjit Singh.
It was after 2 years of living in Queen Victoria's household (the queen was infatuated by him and wanted him close by), that Duleep was brought before the queen and told to express his gratitude to her by handing over the Kohinoor to her for the "generosity" she'd shown him (keeping a crowned head of state a child prisoner in a foreign land, albeit in a royal household), he was guilted into doing this and felt great sadness in having to hand the Kohinoor over to her. He later said in his memoirs. The Kohinoor has since been recut and mounted in a crown since it's theft from the young child Maharaja Duleep Singh and unlikely to ever return to India, it's kept under guard in The Tower of London.
Maharaja Duleep Singh was never allowed to return to his homeland, and instead was raised as a Christian and given Elveden Hall in Thetford where he lived off an allowance from the Queen as a country Squire mostly shooting and gambling. It was only in later life that he realized what had been stolen from him and converted back to Sikhism and spent the rest of his life trying to return to Punjab to reclaim his throne. He died a pauper in Paris still trying to get home.
On a sidenote, upon the death of Maharaja Ranjit Singh The British invaded Punjab, and the officer that was tasked to log the contents and value of the Maharaja treasury said "no amount of monetary value could ever be put on its contents", this was because upon opening the doors jewels and gold spilled out from its doors... this was what Victorian Britain was built on and funded the British Empire and its infrastructure. Queen Victoria called India "The jewel in the crown". Hope this information was useful 🙏🏽🧡

A T no it is not scientifically impossible. To say such a thing shows a lack of understanding of the double slit experiment.
To say such a thing disregards thousands of case studies conducted by reputable scientists of children with verifiable information about places and people they couldn't possibly have by any other means.
And to say you still respect core values that are scientifically impossible is somewhat absurd. The values you "respect" come about from the notion that I have lived many lives with you as my mother and thus should care for you now as such.
What you're saying is you respect the tendency of this tradition to value equally all the other "scientifically impossible" delusions.
Furthermore reincarnation has nothing to do with god.

Its just a matter of advancement and understanding of science .
I believe in GOD and in science .
Its just a memory that we all gather through our lifespan and after death it evolves to the universe cz universe itself is the GOD.
It will always give you a new life ,not always as human beings.

A T as a former lab instructor I'm telling you your understanding of science is vastly warped.
As carl Sagan said; science is more than just a body of knowledge, it's a way of thinking.
You cannot write off a scientist as not being credible simply because they claim to have evidence to support something YOU feel can't exist. Don't forget, Einstein himself "didn't believe" in black holes; well guess what....
There have been many observations regarding reincarnation as I mentioned above. You should go and look at them before you make statements like you made above.
That was literally the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Can we "engineer children" who can can recite relativity equations as soon as they are born? No. yet relativity is perfectly acceptable to you.

I lived at 144-30th Queens, NY starting in 1984. The Sikh Center was right around the corner from the bus stop.
There was always a wonderful smell coming from there. When one of the members saw me peering into the basement, he invited me in to eat. I was too shy as a child to accept, but I will never forget that kind gesture. Shout out to all the Sikh!

You can go to any Sikh temple/Gurdwara near you and have a meal it’s called Langar it’s a free delicious vegetarian food which is served in Gurdwara (a Sikh temple) kitchens every day. In the Sikh religion, everyone is welcome to enjoy langar regardless of their faith, gender, age or status. It is offered by every single Gurdwara in the world. Just follow their Gurdwara rules before entering usually posted next to their langar hall or just ask anyone you see usually like taking off your shoes and covering your head and just wash your hand before eating 🍽️

      13. The Guru Granth teaches that God does not incarnate (p1136 M5) yet talks of the Nehklank Avatar (p1403 Swayyas).
      15. It teaches monism i.e. all is one reality and God is all (p846 M5; p464 // M1; p1291 // Malar M1; p131 Majh M5. Yet says that man is not the same essence as God but only resembles Him (p754 Suhi M3).

    • @FergusScotchman

What is that supposed to mean? You think only Sindhis make a living with shops and stores, and Sikhs don't? And why would a warrior class Sikh *ever* turn over his holy sword? You are just saying meaningless tripe that makes people say *oooo* and "ahhh."
Here is the true reasons Sikhism is my favorite religion:
      - Imagine any religion where there are leaders that are essentially holier than regular folk, and this was/is still the case in Hinduism with the extremely devoted people to gurus. Kind of like a Christian Joel Olsteen. How many religions have refused that influence, status, or power? Only one that I know of... Sikhism. Now there were 10 gurus who founded Sikhism, and they wrote the sacred text of the Sikhs and were more or less like other gurus, but were warriors in the Punjab where there were frequent encounters with the humongous Mughal empire.
The 10th guru was named Gobind Singh, and he did something amazing. Instead of continuing the line of men as being holy gurus, he bestowed the title of guru on the holy text that the 10 gurus wrote, and it is known as the Guru Granth Sahib. People, who have flawed egos may not always be good gurus. But it qas the knowledge that was important and is seen as the integral part of worship, not a human figurehead.
I find that so amazingly wise.
