To get this out of the way first, when they start the chorus, it reminds me of Rare Earth, "I Just Want To Celebrate" mixed with Sly Stone's, "Thankya Falettinme Be Mice Elf" a little bit. This song has an early 1970s James Brown vibe to it, along with Curtis Mayfield's 1972 hit for the film, "Superfly". Some of Rose Royce's tunes had a similar vibe as well.

There were never more than nine songs on an album unless it was a deluxe or live album. When they started adding interludes in the 90s, then tracks went from nine to twelve, fifteen, sometimes twenty. MJ said it years ago…the songs he chooses to put on an album are only the ones he thinks deserve to be on there…he didn’t believe in fillers. There is NOT ONE filler on this album. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
FYI…every song doesn’t have to be a reminder of another song or group. That means there’s no originality. Most 70s groups had great harmonies…EWF, ConFunkShun, O-Jays, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Ohio Players, Heatwave, P-Funk…I could keep going. Anderson rapped his ass off on this, and that was his originality.

The bass player for this album is Jamareo jam Artis not Bootsy Collins and no one else Bruno Mars Bass player Jamareo jam Artis
False. In many interviews, Bruno has stated it was D'Mile on bass for every track and is credited as such in the credits on the cd I have. Jamareo will play it live as he does in all of Bruno's and Silk Sonic's performances. The same with Anderson playing drums on every track. Bruno's brother, Eric, who's also his drummer, will play percussion (bongos) live if Anderson is on drums.
