  • Race 2, in the dry.
I'm confident I can do this one and get my Combe win.
I've written a detailed blog of the events in this race and it would be appreciated if you could check it out as I'm going to keep the descriptions here shorter from now on.

Good to read your comment in your blog about contact in racing. The skill is being close without touching and I really dislike some opinions that "rubbings racing". BTCC sets a a bad example.

That was an amazing race Ben!! As others have said, it's proper edge of your seat viewing to see you battle with other drivers who can match your pace! Hope to see more like it this year... Can't have everyone thinking you're having an easy time if it hahaha.
I don't have personal race experience yet but I do have a few years first hand experience of watching videos of junior drivers incidents etc and in my view, you had the line and the other driver had ample time and position to see you were there. Hope it all gets sorted out quietly and amicably.

The other driver had time to see you, he knew you were there (both cars wing mirror to wing mirror) he then turned into you. From my view it did seem quiet an aggressive steering input from his side. Ccrc is its own little microcosm of motorsport lol.
I think if you watch closely you'll see if brake much deeper than most people, typically threshold until the second apex. I discount the first part of the bobbies and the chicane and only treat it as a boundary for the prevailing left hand corner.
I get on the throttle as soon as I'm off the brake and there is no maintenance period. I think you'll see that's how I maintain a strong advantage through the chicanes.

Pretty well the first sentence was "Grass roots racing must be protected at all costs" and, fair play to the MSA, they have. Great video at a great circuit. Good luck.

@@BenR22 Ben, after I finished with Club racing or, more accurately, it finished with me - but 35 years none-the-less - I got back to my second love: model aeroplanes. The British Model Flying Association (BMFA) has about the same number of members as the MSA - about 35000 I think. Believe me the MSA is a paragon of forward thinking and general organisation compared to the BMFA. Silverstone was threatened with losing the GP because of traffic congestion so the Government built them a new road. Cost £10m? Hardly surprising because motorsport brings hundreds of millions of pounds into the Country every year. And yet the MSA have never lost sight of that all-important line in their mid-80's green paper: "Grass roots racing must be protected at all costs". You have ideas for making it better: write to the circuit owners in the off-season. Can't beat the written word. With respect to views and subscriptions I strongly suggest you keep plugging away. RUclips is a big place now and it must take correspondingly longer to "climb the algorithm". One of the sites I watch regularly now starts with the guy (always) reminding us to hit the "like" button because it is easy to forget and the RUclips algorithm is strongly "like" driven - apparently. You might consider doing the same. Finally, this is where the BMFA are compared to the MSA: we model aeroplane flyers have been pretty inconvenienced by legislation directed at "drone" flying. The DfT blanked the BMFA for nearly a year - wouldn't even talk to them. Can you imagine the DTI blanking the MSA - at all. Keep posting Ben.

That grey Peugeot is significantly over the regulated limit to the tune of 310bhp/ton, however he was never caught for some reason.
Your fuel ratings in the US are different to ours as we only advertise the Ron at the pump. So an 99 octane fuel here is a 92.5 octane for you.
The championship is, or was, designed to prevent people spending money to get to the front. For example my k24 is all stock and costs about £1500. The engine in the Peugeot is about£12,000- £14,000 from what I hear that particular engine builder charges.
I hold the lap record at every circuit we've visited since 2017, which is the year I started. The new spec car won't be eligible for the championship I have been doing.

You were literally alongside him, why the hell did he turn in to you. You had that corner, that 205 was overly aggressive, he shut the door on you just before too aggressive as well. Ben you can pedal.

I was watching this one from quarry corner! Best racing I’ve watched in a long time, got some great photos on both quarry and pit wall of your civic if you’re interested? Loved the car, Find me on Instagram - @danmerchantw
