At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

If Ibrahim was intentionally trying to make himself an enemy of Suleiman, he'd hardly be able to do a better job
😂😂😂 right??
He went above and beyond to earn it 😂
@Leo I quite agree
@Leo nice to hear from you, pal. I hope you've been doing well
@Ahmad munif I strongly believe that Sah doesn't hold Hurrem accountable for what happened to Ibrahim, even though his loss got her somewhat upset as well.
She had her own reasons to dislike Hurrem.
But yeah, Ibrahim brought this on himself. He wasn't listening to anyone
Hatice could've done better than him, she could've had real love potentially and maybe would've stayed friends with Hürrem and just been a happy person.
She deserved as much. Nigar too
In real life Hatice sultana never married ibrahim pasha so I am glad the real Hatice was much smarter than this character
@@rebeccapetty1k390. Yes, she never married this guy. This is an interesting storyline though.
He in real life wasn't her husband .
Just found out hetice hax two husband in real life
First one was Kapudan Iskender Pasha not Ibrahim.
Second one was Coban Mustafa pasha.
Neither were Ibrahim
Hürrem's smile over realizing he didn't ask Süleyman was perfect.
All the power going to his head threatening to behead the guy if he didn't like the statue... Messed up.
Ibrahim was pure hubris.
she is inspirational how she conducts herself and how smart she is, that smile was top hurrem moment
Hurrem accelerated it, but Ibrahim destroyed himself.
Yes haha she knows how to use the wrong move of her enemy to her advantage
This actually happened and he hot a little too arrogant which proved his undoing.😮
21:05 Ibrahim's face 😂😂😂 soo damn satisfying and funny at the same time
Suleiman should have solved this matter with ibrahim, no need for episode 82...
It was unsolvable. Ibrahim kept degenerating in his arrogance. Did anyone ever have to lift Sultan's hand for it to be kissed? Ibrahim's arrogance was a stinker!
Well, that knocked Ibrahim down a peg or three. And he deserved much more...
Sultan tolerated this pargali more than he deserved
Oh Ibrahim you playing with the 🔥
She's a Sultana, he is nothing. He is her slave. Yet she allows him to tell her whats what?
She is madly and blindly in love with Ibrahim
Isn't he the Grand Vizir?
@@QasimAli-to5lk he's still beneath her. Not that I approve of slavery, but as it went with Shah Sultan & her husband, generally husbands don't outrank sultanas.
@QasimAli-to5lk he isn't Royalty. She is. In that context, she rules him. There is a quote in the show....something like "you are a Sultana by birth, your husband is your slave"
Not only hatice was above Ibrahim, so was Hureem who was freed by Suleyman and was married to him too. She's Suleyman's queen ... Ibrahim forgot himself and became to confident because of greed, arrogance, delusion ....
Why the king made his statue 😅💁 both statues are wrong as it is forbidden
Sultan had limitless power so he could do almost anything without question but with Ibrahim I believe him making his own statue put him on equal footing with the sultan and this was a problem as they aren’t equals. I know that islamically it’s wrong but honestly very few Muslim rulers lived exemplary lives. 🥲
@@asaasura6901 hmm
He can deem anything appropriate for himself
Then hes not muslim then.@20PINKluvr
As a child im hating hurrem but when i get older....i understand why sultan act like that..sultan suleiman have his own judgement but hurrem just confiming his conscience of the action
7:46 Hurrem got the answer she want from Ibrahim reaction, so she smirked 😂😂
When suleiman saw his sculpture..
The way he snaps at her, practically growling, when she’s trying to tell him about her nightmare…the look on her face…did anyone else get the sense he wanted to hit her and she knew it, but that was a line he didn’t dare cross?
It looks clear, Ibrahim is mistaken, he destroyed own life, where as Hurrem remain dedicated though a concubine.
Does any one know who Muhsine Hatun is plz , hetice isn't real wicr of Ibrahim. She had two marriages .he wasn't her husbands.
Muhsine Hatun is the wife of his
Sadly Ibrahim became very full of himself and his arrogancy took over..
Sometimes it seems like both are wrong.
Agree
When ur wife is right 😮
The dresses are beautiful, but 1000% wrong. The style you see wasn't even a thing for a couple hundred more years. I sort of understand why the show did this though, what they actually wore would have made the show less "interesting"
I think in the ottoman empire, these dresses could not be a thing at all, considering they're too showy for a misogynistic, conservative theocracy.
Yeah, the costuming is, overall, something I file under historical changes such as women of the harem being able to meet privately with statesmen-impossible in real life but integrated to keep the plot moving in a way that harms little for the overall story.
@@imane5819 i agree but even though the ottoman empire was a dynasty that followed the rules of our Holy Quran very strictly, i think the body coverage rule didn't apply to the slaves and concubines. That might be because most of the concubines are christian so they don't need to cover their chest and necks with clothing because they weren't muslim yet. And the reason they might be wearing revealing dresses because they're concubines. Their only job is to seduce the Sultan with their bodies and make them feel good so that they can get pregnant and give birth to a heir. Third, I've observed how the Sultanas and concubines cover themselves with a big piece of clothe whenever they're meeting a man who isn't a shehzade or Sultan. An example of this is Hurrem covering herself whenever she went to meet Ibrahim.
@@seiniboo it's a possibility tbh, but according to some real historical description of their clothing, they wore small hats adorned with jewels, some sort of trousers that went down to their mid-calf, and very ornated shoes. I think it was some foreign ambassador (french or english?) describing them from what he saw from a small window some agha allowed him to look through.
@@imane5819 oh yeah I know about the trousers! Nowadays those trousers are called Harem pants but back then, the turkish called/still calls them 'Salwar'. I'm Pakistani and we call them Shalwar as our Urdu language is VERY similiar to turkish. Women and men today wear shalwar a lot. Shalwar is like a very comfy, long and airy from inside, kinda poofy tbh. Shalwar is very modest as it doesn't reveal any skin or any part of our legs except the foot and has existed since the 13th century and is still worn everyday. Lol fun fact, I'm wearing a Shalwar while typing this 💀
Султан боялся за свой трон и не пожалел ни сына ни лучшего друга
I can’t stand ibrahim
Ibrahim wanted to be Julius Caesar and create bust of himself. 100% haraam 😂
Did they have clean water back then?😊
yes😊
@@emma-ni2ro wow
Civilizations had had clean water since before the Romans.
@@losingmymind611 what do you categorize as clean water?
Allah, I am your servant.
poor ibrahim
What a evil person. You do not behead someone just because you didn't like a statue they made
Hurrem at it again being nasty. Stirring the pot against Ibrahim to Sulieman..
Sadly Sulieman was very jealous of Ibrahim.
Oh God! She is so evil. She put everything in front of Suleyman so cleverly.
To be fair her plotting against Ibrahim is understandable since he was the absolute worst.
Why would she not? He was bad towards her from day 1..wants to enthrone Mustafa who will kill all her sons & she’s loyal to her husband who is an emperor.
