Shout out @Muscle and Motion for the amazing anatomy graphics.
That "blocked sensation" is the exact feeling I get in my ankles whenever I try to improve my ankle mobility. This is definitely going to help me!
I get that in my right foot only and can’t seem to stretch my dorsiflexors because my ankle limits the mobility.
Same here! I've been driving myself mad trying to figure it out!
I've done so much calf stretches and cant seem to figure out why i still cant go further despite my calves feeling loose than before. This will definitely help, gonna buy bands now just for this lol
Do soleus strengthening guys. Soleus and gastroc calf raises. Look it up. They're two different exercises so watch out for that
@@butsirrrthis won't help with this specific problem
This may be the exact thing I’ve been looking for! Thanks
And, did it work for you?
@@stephan19912710 it has helped, the pain hasn’t completely gone away yet
@@jkushan25 Ah, that's good to hear :)! Going to try it too, let's see what happens. Thanks for the reply and good luck with your injury!
last month my ankle was twisted in a wrong way while running .... to my surprise the pain was not in the ankle but in the knee....this explains a lot
@@jkushan25 Bro you have to give me an update on this. I have the same issue where I can do more than 10 pistol squats with my left leg but not a single one with my right leg as there pain above the knee. I have no problem using the knee but there is a point where it feels like my knee cap is grinding and it causes pain and a lock feeling where it feels like I can't add more force onto the leg. If this has helped you please respond . Thank you!
i can't thank you enough! I ve been in pain during my practices for last 2 weeks. This literaly helped me in 20 minutes. HUGE THANKS!
You are literally my god you keep outdoing yourself man.
On what?
Lol I have pain in one knee doing literally anything ever... walking, squatting, sleeping, looking at it the wrong way, thinking about it, thinking about nothing, doing nothing, doing anything...
Same, and my doctor says I'm fine
We need a cure 🙏
Saaaame 😭😂
Who doesn’t have pain when doing a pistol squat honestly
Had pain my right knee for years - followed another video instruction from this guy- fixed right knee. But same pain switched to left knee (issue for last 6 months) .. this might be how to correct my problem.. Genius!! Thanks!
It never ceases to amaze me not only how much we know about the human body but also how we can apply it to heal and augment it.
this finally might be what my problem is
These case presentations/discussions are great! A person can try & see how applicable a video/complaint is to his/her own issues...
Excellent & very useful!
Mate, this info you give is golden
Just do a single leg RDL kickstand. This is an easier fix. Worked for me great!
Good job my niggaz
I had a patella luxation that lead stiffness on the lateral thigh musculature, so that limited me my hole life for doing almost any hip-knee-ankle flexion. Since I started focusing way more on ankle mobility, Step Downs, and Glute hypertrophy my whole life knee problem has been reducing on a daily basis, so much similar to these drills.
Bro my ankle mobility is horrendous that my knees going past my toes while my foot is flat on the ground would be a dream come true
That's what my problem, but keeping the back straight and leaning forward make it easier, like he did it in last movement.
Can you please provide me the full video with this guy
Because I have same symptoms and I am struggling with it almost a year.
Please.
I'm flat footed , and this is exactly my complaint while doing pistol squats.
Thanks for the advice on this video. Liked and subscribed!
Hola amigo es muy bueno tu canal Gracias por compartir tu sabiduría. Podés instalar subtítulos en español. Saludos desde Uruguay 🇺🇾
Aprende ingles por favor
This is what I needed!
I can totally understand the "hypomobility" hypothesis affecting the whole kinetic chain.
My main issue though, with all due respect, is the claim of the eventual patella "maltracking" due to lateral quad stiffness. My understanding from the PFPS guidelines is that the theory of "patella maltracking" might be flawed due to the strong recommendations to avoid medial quad biofeedback As i understand the main issue is the "relative" femur position i.e. (medial femur rotation and adduction) due to dynamic knee valgus etc.
What are your thoughts about it?
Again much respect, great job and patient outcomes❤
Thank you so much! I've been wondering what to do about the right foot being rotated outward more compared to the left foot. Your channel is most helpful and very appreciated!
I had my Achilles tendon torn and had surgery at 23. I’m now 51 and two partial knee replacements later I’m having horrible trouble in my left knee, same foot I had the surgery. I do ATG program among every other kind of workout u can imagine, I love to feel good and look even better! Lol but this lefty is a PROB!!!? Any advice? It’s been 1 1/2 years since my knee surgery and I c my ORTHO next month!
Worked perfect thank man
Wow I think this exactly my problem, I need to find tiny boxes so I can try this 😣
Incredible. Ty 👍
Great information
Could you include information about how long therapy takes?
I work at PT and I usually hear that the longer the recovery takes, the more permanent it is. So I wouldn’t worry about length too much. But some patients feel completely better after 1-2 months
This is ACTUALLY fully me down to the right lower limb. I just don’t have knee pain… yet
my pain is right above the knee cap like here, but not when I squat, in fact, I usually feel it when I'm sitting still with my right knee at a 90 degree angle, like during a fairly long car ride (1 hour+).
All I want to know, did he get that shirt from fresh clean tees or classic tees?
Fresh clean tees is FIRE frfr
Thanks it was the tightness
My left knee in pain during squats or lunges in crossfit and I take a break from gym for 3 weeks and once I do squats the pain return
My knee only feel slight pain or discomfort when squats or lunges and no swelling or pain during or after workout .... and when performing other movements and avoiding squats and lunges my lt knee seems normal
Is this technique will work with me
Yo this is literally what I'm dealing with in my left leg! 😳
Certainly took his time cleaning those windows 😂
I have the same talus bone issue and my pt gave me the same kinda band exercise, good to know - youtube spies on me- it works! How long did it take your patient to improve this?
Bro. Where are you located??
It can’t be this easy. I’m positive my knee pain is majority from imbalances.
I have tricep tendonitis. Do you guys have a video about that?
I squat 225 but i cant even do a single leg front squad. Does that mean im just weaker then i think i am coach? Thank you
I can do 350 and can't do a piatol squat, then there are people who can't do 225 but still can perform them.
Just practice them untill you can.
@@Chronos4088 Great to hear that. Im like man i must be super weak .. haha. Thank you 🙏 my friend. Cheers 🥂 . I just started practicing them today.
Do you think it could be a mobility thing? Have you tried it without any weight? I imagine your strength is probably there but you probably need to work on range of motion maybe? I’m curious!
@@jlh5310 maybe 🤔. I never have done the ankle stretch he showed in the video. Im gonna try it. And let u know. Cheers 🥂
Injured my ankle by rolling it at the beach really bad about 1.5 years ago and now when I squat I can feel pain in my knees and my foot naturally wants to be turned facing out instead of towards.
I broke my talus and have been having that problem forever. I’ve done that knee over toe stretch but without the band
Seriously, again, what anatomy software is this???
At 30, my mobility restriction compounds with every fall🥲
I weigh a solid 25st. Like I could do a pistol squat
I have that exact same problem in my right knee
This is my injury since 23 month .. my left leg is going out during squad and cant make a sqad now !! .. I will try this and give a feedback
Give feedback

I need help on this!! Looks somewhat like my ankle... I had an 2nd degree sprain when I was 20 (basketball ankle twist) ... They told me the ankle didn't heal and sealed properly so I never got the same range of motion in my injured left ankle and thus impacted my squatting depth... And your video looks just like me...
Should I do any kind of X-ray double check or any additional consideration before trying this? What should I pay attention to?
What job/certification do you need to know and practice this?
Physical Therapist
Any tips on pain behind the knee?
I have get sharp pain(stinging and numbing feeling) in one of thighs when I squat heavy
I’ve just been going through all these videos and it seems like I have every problem then demonstrate 😭
@SquatUniversity I get sharp pains in my ankle when I do the joint mobilizations when I push my knee forward. Any suggestions?
Take a rest. You can train your feet instead, there are a lot of videos 😊
mri says minimal effusion in the suprapatellar recess of the joint in left knee
knee always feels heavy pain, back pain
actually everything started from ankle twist
looks like I got imbalance body
i wanted to take knee aspiration, what are your advise please suggest me 😢 suffering from 2y
Thanks...I got what I needed....Actually I noticed My left foot is slightly tilted outwards(like duck foot)...& Due to this my whole lower left leg started to pain after heavy leg workout.....Can u tell me how to fix my left foot??
This is happening to me right now
What state is this facility located?
do you have to stretch theres out all the time or does it build after that
Where can I figure out if I am doing everything right or if I too have some short of form issues?
Are you a wizard? 🧙🏻♂️

I feel pain in my left Hip when I do the single leg squat
Nice!
Hey @SquatUniversity i was doing seated calf raises and i suddenly felt a pop and small pain when i walked and i feel it on the left side of my right knee would you know what it could be?
Sir I have pain in lower side of knee cap left side its painful and boring sensation can u help
What about pain just directly BELOW the kneecap?
I have patellar tendinitis and that’s right we’re my pain is. There’s tons of videos online and squat universities advice helped me get over it.
If you’re in your early teens you may have osgood schlatters
This is me down to the name lmfao
I have lumbar pain when trainning pistola squat. Do You have some advice?

Hope this helps somewhat.

Real?
Latest research shows that foam rolling doesn’t really work. You’d be better off dry needling.
Could you send me the source? Didn’t find anything.
@@matthesschrock7044 would love source as well
The real he had pain because people tend to never start with basics at all. There are basic steps that must take to complete a pistol squat properly and I bet he skipped the ones that required isometric holding and stability. This would have addressed that talus mobility early without requiring physiotherapy. I love this channel but the reason why @Squatniversity and other physiotherapists will stay in business is that people continue to look for shortcuts thus relying on their body to do something it is not ready to do. Most of the time for bragging rights.
Something is off about the arguments in this video
What do you suspect to be off? I’m curious as to where I could go for an assessment
@@RicardoPicena I don't think the rubber actually moves the bone
@@Ivan4n09 the rubber is also very likely not the reason this person experienced progress.
Rather the slow regression of the original movement.
By lowering the ROM until the point we break form/experience pain we can strengthen and slowly increase the ROM.
If you break this down this helps with almost every nociceptive pain that is mechanically induced.
is this called physical therapy?
