I don’t know if anyone else has commented on the fantastic, 3rd party commentary in the video ,but I really enjoyed that!!!! Your voice is all business getting to the point however with those comments, your sense of comedy is present, allowing us to laugh and enjoy the quality direction! Well done!
Thank you very much! My weed eater wasn't working anymore after 4 years of inactiveness. But after watching your vid, I was able to solve the problem! I owe you one, if you visit Belgium once ;)
I have a 2008 troy-bilt 575ss, was running great 'till would turn off like running out of fuel and had to prime it to start, never changed the fuel lines, trying to look in the net if anybody was having problems like mine, so just by chance I bent a little bit my intake fuel line and found a substantial leak, very happy to have found it and thank you for showing how to change it.
very helpful. I have two weedeaters and they BOTH started leaking fuel at the same time!! crazy. thanks for all your suggestions, but WHO is that talking over your shoulder with a British accent????
Do you think the line was short because while using the trimmer it would rest on the bottom? I understand you went the whole length of the tank but I do understand why it was short too. It was just my observation. Thanks for the video.
I do appreciate everything you showed, but unfortunately I had to replace both lines and was already broken off at the carb and primer . I'm not sure which connection is correct.
Typically the connection furthest away from the primer bulb connects to the line that goes to the fuel filter (The supply line). If you hook it up backwards you will see that the primer bulb does not fill and you can reverse the lines
You connected the fuel line to a black connector that is connected to a line that’s connected to the carburetor line. I found a black two end connector at the bottom of my fuel tank( Craftsman 25cc b2000 2cycle) and was trying to figure out where it came from. Now I see where it goes. My blower is I’ll not prime
Needle nose work as well? Dont have the medical tool you used and the slender length im sure makes a difference. Will it be harder if all you have are needlenose? Thx
I often wonder if the return line should be in the gasoline, but when the gasoline gets low it won't be, so maybe that is the answer, but when the tank is full, does it cause a problem or should the tank not be filled to cover the return line? There are always more questions than answers!!!
All that line does is return the fuel back to the tank after pumped through the carburetor. It doesn’t matter if your tank is full or half full or near empty
I tried to change a line recently and it was difficult to pull through the hole and to replace the new one too; so I cut the old one and I drilled the hole a little bigger, and I will put some epoxy on it to stop leaks. When the line is pulled through the small hole it seems to me that it will choke it and stop the gas from passing.
It should be a very tight fit where the light goes into the tank so you do not get leaks. That’s the way they designed that. The return line just needs to be able to drain back into the tank and doesn’t have anything to do with how much fuel is in your tank or not. All that does is pull fuel through the carburetor to primer and then dumps the primed fuel back inTo the tank so it’s not spilled out.
yes I did not remember this when I was doing it recently, but you need to cut the tube at an angle or point so that it will pass through the hole easy and then pull it to length and cut it square before installing the filter; but I drilled the hole a little bigger and put epoxy to prevent leaks later. The next time I have to do one I will try cutting it at the angle, I see tecs doing it, it is just to remember; I don't do it everyday like they do.
My weedeater is exactly the same. I did exactly the same thing, and it ran for a while until the gas was below my primary line. I know they’re not reversed.
If you have a tight connection at the carburetor and tight fit into the gas tank your leak may be coming from the carburetor or a leaky tank crack or something?...

The angle cut was a game changer. Thanks for the easy guide.
Glad it helped!

Glad to hear that
Good Job, simple, not long, all points covered, thank you
Glad it helped
Well done and very well explained!!! Thanks!! 😊
Glad it was helpful!

Way to go!

Thank you, thank you and thank you!😊
No problem 😊
It's a perfect and kind explanation. Thank you a lot!!
Glad it was helpful!

Gracias me amigo...
Great job, l believe l can do just that as you have instructed 👍!!!
You can do it!
Perfect demonstration. Thanks again.
Thanks for your feedback and glad it helped
Tanxs God bless
Excellent presentation, thank you! Question; who's the other voice in the background that sounds like a computer-generated voice?

It would appear to me that the cheap Chinese carburetor kits I purchase always order only come with whatever hose size they bother to give me

So one line should be short and one line should be long? The lines that i installed are both going to the bottom. My engine wont start.
Thank you for sharing your video 👍🏼
Thanks for watching!

Just need to be creative with tools that will work depending on the design of the unit that you are working on
Hi. Please can you tell me why you have you got a connector in the line instead of just using a single line?
It was set up that way by another person but not necessary
I bought the retune line hose because the fuel line looks good it was 1/8 and the hole was to small I think I need the 3/16 line smaller hose

I think I might be able to do that
You can do it!
I'll try Tomorrow

Can the line also be too close to the bottom of the tank?
You cut out the hardest part - getting the line through the hole in the tank!

Can a frayed return pipe cause a strimmer to cut out?
It shouldn’t cause that
I think it only went half way because when being used the tank is sideways making the lowest point be half way curve on the tank.
thought my filter was plugged. pulled it out through the fill and the fuel line fell apart. just what i need to repair it. thanks
Glad I could help
My weedeater is exactly the same. I did exactly the same thing, and it ran for a while until the gas was below my primary line. I know they’re not reversed.
Primer line not primary
I replaced mine. Even though my lines went in super tight, they leak gas. Any tips?

💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Added the black double connector and still won’t prime
You may need to clean your carburetor.
Here is a video on how to do that:

That other voice is kind of spooky dude.
Obligatory comment
Thumbs down because you didn’t give the tubing size
tubing sizes vary. I keep a packet of the 4 basic sizes in my shop in a zip lock bag. Not very expensive when ordered online.
3/4 inch id lots of gas
Came here for tube ssize 😂
Not detailed
Thank you it was really helpful 👍
Glad to hear that!
