@@brazzelon 😂 A rest does not tell you to mute the cymbal rings. I would have notated a hi-hat foot on beat 4 if I wanted that and that would no longer be a rest. With instruments where you can sustain a note and hold it you’d be expected to let go of the note after the quarter note has elapsed. You don’t hold notes in drumming - you hit the note you’re reading and let it sustain unless specified to choke or, in the case of the hi-hat, use the hi-hat foot. If you don’t believe me that’s fine but try and be open to learning new things. I definitely don’t need your approval after seeing your channel.
