Tony, I don't know much about watches. However, this watch looks better on you than many of the other watches I see you wearing. You look your best with a 36mm wide watch. This one is a keeper for you in my opinion. I know you just bought a different Cartier watch also but this one is by far the best on you. As far as the 40 hour reserve goes. You have a lot of watches. You switch out and wear different watches when you want to. Why do you care about long power reserve? I can see you wearing this watch in a suit or just bumming around. It will work for you. You really scored this time.
The reference number for the 36mm white gold ballon bleu is w690056. It went into in production 2008/2009. I don't know when it was discontinued, but based off of its calibre, I think probably around 2015. From what I could find, it is powered by Cartier's calibre 076, which is allegedly based off ETA2671. I love the Ballon Bleu! It is one of, if not my favorite, designs of all time. I think it looks awesome on you, and I think it's a keeper for sure!!
Love the watch Tony. I 've had my eye on the Ballon Bleu myself but there's one aesthetic of the dial that bugs me and wanted to get your thoughts. The roman numerals between 6 and 9 seem too 'crowded' and the obvious fix is to make the markers smaller or find a way to space them a bit better. It's their only model with this spacing issue in my opinion. This is the only thing holding me back from purchasing this timepiece.
