I can’t wait to make a well for my Halloween set up next year. Loved all the detail and close-ups. So awesome to see videos that give so much valuable information! Well done!
Thank you!
That is SO much work- but man, does it ever look amazing! Well done!
Thank you! It was a lot of work but I loved making it and I also cursed a lot while doing so! Ha ha ha
The details on your well are amazing!
Thank you!
great tutorial, very detailed,, thanks
Thanks!
Loved it. Exactly what I was looking for!!! Thank you
You’re welcome
Wow, you are almost as nuts for Halloween as i am. Good Job!
Hahaha! Yes I am!!!
Great job.. Can't wait to see it all done for Halloween night..!
Thanks!
I tell you what! Your a hard worker….allot off work effort aswell as artistic skill… enjoyed watching and learned stuff… thanks
Thank you!
This is brilliant! Definitely worth all the time you put into it. Such a simple build, yet so so effective! Thanks for all the details. If I can get hold of the foam I will try this myself. Being in the UK it might get so much attention too 👌🏻
Thanks!
Subscribed! Great channel. I am a DIY'er / amateur prop builder myself. I'm looking to do Samara coming out of a TV for Halloween this year.
Thanks! Wishing you a smooth process on your Samara. As you probably already know that was never happens but good luck.
Where do you buy the foam?
I just got started on our well (thank you for the tutorial BTW) and ours will be larger because we will have a live actor inside. (24 blocks total) I am already dreading painting it. I was hoping maybe someone has had success using a paint sprayer? I just wonder how well it would get into the crevices???
UPDATE: We thinned our paint a little and used a paint sprayer. Took about 15 mins to completely coat the entire thing with the base color. This is definitely the way to go!
I found you looking for DIY witch stirring a cauldron and subscribed as soon as I was done watching that one!!! I will be making this well this year too!! I would also love a tutorial on the skeleton that wanted to pose in this video!!!
Thanks! I’m planning on doing a new skeleton with that same technique hopefully in the next few weeks. I have started filming everything because I’ve had so many requests. I’m a little late getting started this year.
Shawna, I don’t know if you saw this but it’s the progression of that skeleton. I was not filming back then because I had just started this page and didn’t realize it would be so many requests for it. I will have some new tutorials up soon. The technique are used on this was paper towels and cotton tipped and Wood glue.ruclips.net/video/r3CCd9X3u58/видео.html
Can I get the outer diameter of your well? I just picked up my foam from tractor supply and getting started on my stirring witch and well this weekend!! 👏👏
What is the width of the inner part of the well please
22.5 inches
What size Styrofoam blocks are you using please
12x12x19 I got them for free from the tractor supply store. They get them as packing In their shipments and then usually get stacked up behind the store. Some tractor supplies will just give them to you and others have refused. I just happen to get lucky with the one near me.
That looks amazing. Can I ask what you use to cut the Styrofoam blocks? I need to get one
I used a hot knife. I got it from northern tool for $30. m.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200711838_200711838?cm_mmc=Google-pla&Google_PLA&Construction%20%3E%20Painting%20%3E%20Heat%20Guns&Ironton&gclid=Cj0KCQjw1tGUBhDXARIsAIJx01kFx5-yJdfUmdWQE3WqXpArWK_HaOzSbsoKbbZHf0ImBlBopWldd3gaApAyEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
How many blocks did you use , this is so great!
Thanks! I used 12 blocks.
What are the measurements of the stone cutouts in the styrofoam?
I think you said you got the styrofoam blocks from tractor supply? Do they have them in store or do you have to order them?
Actually, they get them in their shipments as packing. They have stacks of them outback. My local tractor supply gave them to me because the vendor wasn’t coming to pick them up. Some tractor supplies will give them to you and I have had other people say their local tractor supply would not. It’s a roll of the dice!
How do you weight items like these?? Great video thank you
I’m not sure what you mean by weight. Do you mean secure them? If so, I don’t secure them at all, they’re just sitting.
@@kellysdiyhalloweencreation8382 so it is heavy enough to withstand weather ect? Or do you take them in? I have been having issues with that and there are so many props out sometimes I cant get all of them in time. So I was wondering how you do that -if you did. Thanks for the reply!
All of my props stay out in the weather unless a hurricane is coming. Any animatronics that I’ve bought I try to waterproof their control box With plastic bags but I don’t do that with the animatronics that I have made. I do try to waterproof any switches or plugs with plastic bags or electrical tape.
What are the measurements of the cutouts in the styrofoam blocks?
Let me know if you have anymore questions 😬
