Hah!.... love'n the shout outs! Just paying it forward, and doing what I can to 'enable' the video content that inspires me and MANY others!! Hopefully a few peeps can kick in a bit more and get you that much need floor jack. Hate to see a guy having to work with 'limp' equipment!! hahahaha
Easy way to set up your rear end, put your spring perches on the alignment bolts, then set your rear end in place. Center your axle in the wheel well, then measure the angle of your output shaft on the trans, swing your rear end up until the angle meter matches the trans. Tack weld your perches in place, then remove the rear and weld in place. Done and a lot less math. Can be done with a tape measure and a angle guage
So cool that you are 2-0 on replying to my comments. Your videos are very helpful with my planning. Currently I’m building a 95 Cobra, but I have a 65 sitting in the driveway. I’ll be able to hit the ground running on that one, in part due to your videos.
Love watching this process! I’m learning a lot! Can’t wait to see how it functions. I had a 67 with an 8.8 swap. Previous owner did it himself and set it up so that the 3rd member was at 0 deg. when not under a load, and under a load would rise up… same as you I think. Problem is, every time I hit the gas hard, the 3rd member would hit the floor pan. The car also had awful wheel hop, so it would repeatedly slam the floors. I was told the spring perches should have been welded so that under a load, the 3rd member would be at 0. Again, don’t know that what I was told is actually correct. Personally, I wondered if it had to do with the suspension setup or maybe a mix of the two things.
Thanks for your feedback, glad you enjoy these videos! my guess would be that the piñon angle is not in parallel with the engine. Maybe the u joints were binding? Something was defiantly off though!
Hi Angel, nice job getting it all together and installed. Thanks for the Wile E. Coyote math lesson - LOL. The "Wheel of Death" really comes in handy - I wish I had had one back in the day. We had cut off wheels, but they were pneumatic and dragging that hose around got to be a pain. Regards, Dave
A better way in the future to remove that axle would have been to on the back of the springs unbolted them form the rear perches. Then remove the axle axle so you can slide it out better
If the original rear end is upside down at 16:42 with a 5° opinion angle, Aaaaaaand the replacement rear end at 17:14 is right side up with a 5° opinion angle, isn't that a 10° (delta) measurement on the opinion angle?
Great question, the Pinon angle on the upside down diff was -5 degrees (right of 90) and the right side up one was +5 (left of 90). Hope I explained that well haha
One step closer. Thought you had it upside down but you didn’t hear me shouting. U bolts shouldn’t be too bad to find might even be a speed shop or suspension shop that can make you some new ones. Or just order some for the explorer you got the axle shaft from. Stay cool out there in the desert
7:17 "preparing a that's what he said joke in my head" #ridetech we need you to show of your goods so we ourselves might want to go the Ridetech route!
Go back to the pick a part and snag the perch parts from the Explorer you got the axle out of. It wont be perfect but you'll at least have mock up plates and U bolts.
that's installed? saw nothing i needed to find out, you might get somebody killed without showing some safer procedures. car is already a loss, and im actually dumber now. please refund my 20 minutes.
Then you clearly should have somebody do this for you if you’re unable to understand the process. No worries not everyone is capable, and thats okay! 👍🏻👍🏻

yeah, i was over here thinking - Angel has the same jack as I do, and my jack is awful! lol
Definitely an age thing for the jack 😂 thanks again!!!
Your 8.8 breakdown in reference to a 65 Mustang is currently the most informative on RUclips. Hats off and thank you 👍🏽
I appreciate that, thank you!

That definitely sounds easier lol
Thanks for not editing out your mistakes great video

Paint on the rear diff ? avoid rust and better looking hehe
This whole car is a rust box lol. But its gonna come out soon or later we will paint then !
@@rookie__pilot I was just saying hehe ! All that work on the rear diff and the metal exposed from the grinding! Good stuff brother :)
Could not have used a cylinder hone ? Love the videos, inspiring me to do more of the work myself on my 56 ford 2 door
Now you gotta add Seagull sounds when you use your new jack! 😉
Thats an idea 😂😂

Wheel of death lol! Its my master key to my problems 😂
Plus one for "...maybe we need to fear a little bit"! :D Love seeing you developing your voice for this videos, man!
thank you !!
Wish my junkyards looked like that! It's all dirt, and becomes a muddy swamp when wet.
I love it. It’s like I’m looking a young me. You just need to start working out side in the snow and you could be my clone.
Instead i work in the desert lol
I didn’t want to say anything about the spring mounts as I thought you were going to surprise us with a pavement scraper 🤪
Haha! Super low stang lol
I DID YELL AT T THE SCREEN!
Not loud enough 😂😂

I didnt even think of that haha! It woulda rolled right out! 😂
Oops oops. Loving the reality and the problems that you overcome. Not wishing you extra work but enjoying what you share.
Spilling that fluid just on the ground ….mmmm not gonna happen in my country. Maybe 50 years ago .
It came from
The ground, back to the ground she goes. 😂
Not in my small town! I tell you what!
I felt that opening sequence
🤣

keep calm and carry on.... good job!

Come on Ride Tech get it in gear turkey. Just take your hands out of your pockets and do it!

Haha thanks for trying! I will try some local shops if not i will get the ones from the scrap yard!

cmon we all know you were hoping we'd miss it so you could have a slammed 'stang, yo :)
HA thatd be so wild but im kinda curious to how itd be 😂
Excellent video. What year donor did you use?
99!

Will definitely have to try that, good idea!
What modifications did you do to get driveshaft to work.
@@toddmercer2090 just a change in yoke, theres a video up on that aswell
This is why I use a pipe cutter. No debris.
What, like a spin around the pipe kind? 😂
Krunchy? LOL! Those are steel shavings... Magnetic...
If you soak that rag with a bunch of Paint thinner it would clean up that sludge in the axle tube
That woulda been nice to try!
0:58 Running full-synthetic-engine-lube?
Si
Check out axle u bolts and plates from a 67-68 mustang. They should fit your axle.
People 4-link their cars all the time. At least you have a full frame? You want number three to be turned up to 11!!!
Turned up to 11 perfectly describes the goal😂
