What are your thoughts about the sequel?
It was meh/mediocre but it was great seeing the three main ladies return and have a blast in their roles.
I also liked the younger actors who played them in the opening.
I wouldn't piss on Bette Midler if she was on fire.
Kornbread was on Season 14 of Drag Race, which had likely wrapped filming but had not yet aired on tv at the time of filming this scene. The season finale was way back in April, long before this movies release
Amazing. Just like the orignal. Had heartfelt, funny and the songs were so good! Got the nostalgia from the first one. I absolutely loved it and seeing them back again! And also loved them as kids.
It is odd the question is , How did you like the movie?. Yet on many different threads people don't speak about the movie, but disgust for Midler.
I thought the movie was boring, and a typically poor story line for the the modern day Disney.
When I was watching the scene where Mary and Sarah disappeared and Winnie crying about it, it reminded me about what Binx said to Max in the first film. "You never know how precious your sister is until you lose her"
Omg! Yes
“What a fool to give up thy life, for thy sisters’”
😢
Mary riding her Roombas had me ROLLING 😂😂
Kornbread was already on drag race as of the release of the movie itself and this video. all three of the queens in that scene, Ginger Minge, Kornbread, and Kahmora Hall were all drag race alumni. Youre contractually obligated/bound to and nda, to not discuss being on drag race until the season/episode you appear in actually airs. who is on the season is a total secret until the company officially reveals it. it sounds like a legalese misunderstanding happened on set, if the season had already filmed but not aired to the public yet, then "technically" she hadnt "been on drag race" as far as the public knows. And yes, we all LOVED KORNBREADDDDD. Highly reccomend looking up her drag race moments on youtube
She's also a good friend of Brandon Rogers and has appeared in a fair amount of his stuff.
you should have seen my face when he said that lolol\
I really enjoyed this movie, the new cast were decent, and the younger Sanderson Sisters really resembled their older counterparts, particularly Taylor Henderson, who played Young Winnie.
The younger child actresses were amazing.
@@chasehedges6775 They were the best part of the movie. I wouldn't mind a young Sanderson Sisters mini-series with the young actresses.
I would’ve loved if the old teen cast came back
I think that would’ve been cool but it wouldn’t have saved the movie.
Originally Dani was supposed to have a small part
@A Murr 💯
I was really surprised there weren't cameos from the original cast. I wonder if they were even asked
@@chrish3126 Dani was gonna be the principle when they got introuble in school.
I LOVED it, but you didn’t mention the other people in the crowd dressed up as other characters in the original, like the mom dressed as Madonna… she’s just one that was in the crowd of people in costumes!
Kornbread literally won Miss Congeniality on her season of Drag Race, which aired EONS ago. Who fact checks these things?
When Winifred did the Magica Maxima spell, it said that in order for it to work, she had to give up what she loved most, which was her sisters and it reminded me of the beginning where the Judge wanted to take her sisters away from her
Reverend. Not judge
So many stories have overlap with others. It reminded me of Thanos giving up Gamora to get the soul stone.
Its the Once Upon A Time Dark Curse
@@Jgirl0591 not much of a difference during the days of the Salem Witch Trials. Reverends often acted as judges and vice versa.
That's literally the point. Do you not know what a call back is ??
I loved watching the sequel but it doesn't hold a CANDLE to the original.
A black flame candle!
Dont forget about a character dressed as a Disney character in both films:
the 1st film has a Trick or Treater dressed as Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast, while the 2nd film has a adult wearing a Sorcerer Mickey hat with maybe the entire costume.
The Walgreens scene was amazing 😂
more like product placement and you fell for it lmao
@@br00talitydawg what’s your deal?
I guess it was amazing product placement… good one …
@@RampidWarthogStudiosfacts
You must be a big fan of Walgreens. Do you want Walgreens to appear in every film?
@@br00talitydawg Which product placement? The youth cream women always want, the swiffer, the roombas, the salt? I liked the scene because the sisters were in awe of the sliding doors😂
That man deserves his apple I waited till the end credits scene just to see if he got the apple. He didn't so I took away a ⭐
I was very pleasantly surprised. I expected another updated story to replace the original actors with diversity like so many others. I wasn't expecting a totally new story line that fit so well with the original. The Hocus Pocus double feature along with the Halloweentown movies will be a new part of my family's Halloween tradition.
The roombas are probably my favorite part 😂
In 1993, Haloween fell on a Sunday, yet in the first Hocus Pocus they showed them in school on that day
I love how he talks about 2022 like its been Halloween
Loved the sequel! Both movies will always be staples in my Halloween movie collection!
There was a Madonna in the flash mob crowd dressed just like as a nod to Max’s mom who wore the costume to the Halloween party
Does the Flash Mob dance call anything to mind? Considering when the parents would've been young?
In the original, they adults just danced and danced any which way. In this one, they're all lined up next to one another, in multiple rows. In costumes some that were zombies .... THRILLER
I thought of Thriller as well.
@@Missqueenfairy
It wasn't a bad movie ... enjoyable for what it is. It's ALWAYS great to see and hear THE DIVINE MISS M ... and Kathy Najimy, who comes up with great characterizations. Except towards the end of VEEP ... I wasn't all so thrilled with that character.
SJP ... I can take her or leave her, but I do like her as Sarah. She leans into type hard, but then is so off, eating bugs and rat tails, that's it's an ironic SJP archetype.
I think if I had to spend 5 min with the real SJP I'd vomit. Poor Matthew Broderick
I enjoyed Hocus Pocus 2.🥰
Respect.
Great acting.
Reverend traske was the man who hunted and accused Victoria winters as a witch in the original dark shadows series.
It was so AWESOME!
P.S. you realize who Billy is at the beginning of the movie, when Winifred says she wants to marry him
I'm gonna have to watch this just off the strength of my childhood lol
It wasn't 330 years. The scene you were talking about was 1653 which is 40 years before they originally died in 1693. Then they came back in 1993 which is another 300 years. Then 29 more years till the second time they come back. That is 369 years. Also during Gilbert's story he said 29 years ago on Halloween night people saw witches flying and we know from a later story he was one of those people so it is definitely set in 2022.
I loved it :)
Kornbread was already on Drag Race. She was a fan favorite and a shoe in to win early on before she had to leave in the first few episodes due to an injury. She has been invited to return but as of now she has turned down the offer. The next season has already been taped and Kornbread will not be in the cast.
✨💚🌎💚✨
TODAY IS
SAT. THE 29th OF
OCTOBER......
& THEY HE MENTIONED OUR 2022 HALLOWS EVE IN PAST TENCE
GAVE ME THE
WILLIEZZ🎃🙀😘
But Kornbread was on drag race lol. As well as the other two queens next to her, Ginger Minj, and Kahmora “I was rooting for US” Hall. 😂
Kornbread was already on drag race!!!!! Please fact check
Um kornbread was already on drag race last season. Probably was already cast as of the filming of this movie
Kenny Ortega confirmed Alisson was meant to be a white witch, with her ancestor being a good witch who fought against the Sandersons in the past. Mary even said "She was good until the last bite".
Kornbread was already on season 14 of drag race 🥴
The couple that was shown on the TV again is actually to pay memorial tribute the couple passed away two years ago
Cornbread is already big, she's done tons of Brandon Rogers short films. Also logic hear, that Hocus Pocus 1 seems to he a movie based upon actual events.... with Hocus Pocus 2 being the continuation if the actual event. It would explain the descrepencies.
6:57 As an Elton John lover...I RECOGNIZED IT!
Did no one else notice Billy Butcherson’s stitches spell KISS? Only in the 2nd film.
Wow cool!
Kornbread was already on season 14 of drag race. Ginger Ming and Kamora Hall as well.
i really liked this sequel bc it felty like everyone involved really cared about the original movie
In the movie Mike is seen dressed up as a zombie football player with green hair. This is clearly a nod to the disney franchise "Zombies". As one of the main characters Zed plays football, is a zombie and has green hair (well all zombies do)
I love it
Who said that witch lady couldn’t actually be Satan- not a living human knows what Satan actually looks like so she very well could be
And Satan is supposed to be able take multiple forms, so it's possible. My theory is that the information in the Sanderson House Museum about the book may not have been completely accurate and was based on legends.
And I will watch that soon
Taylor Henderson was awesome. I hope she doesn't go unnoticed. She was a brilliant Winnie, second only to the GREAT and talented Bette Midler.
I do wish they had explained why the Sanderson cottage was somehow moved into town in the second movie - in the original, the cottage was deep in the forest, even in 1993 it was some distance from Salem proper.
Urban sprawl!
Yesss
Actully the movie takes place during 2021 due to a sign in walgreens
What sign? Can you provide a time?
A little after the power goes off on the right there’s like a halloweeen display that says Halloween season of 2021 or somthing like that I’ll look at it later
3:30 I’m guessing this movie actually takes place in 2023! Because the trailer says that the events of the film take place 370 years after the sisters get the book, as little girls: 1653+370=2023
the first one took place in 93 and they said it was 30 years later, also 2023 Halloween is on a Tuesday
@@jerw1957they said it was 29 years later.
Hey my video! Thanks for watching everyone!
I always did like the fact that the sisters got the book from the devil, it would’ve been nice, if the witch in the woods is actually were birth-mother / real mother!
They didn't get it from the Devil, it was a witch who used the Maxima spell. You can tell when they asked her where her coven was, just looked like she was going to cry when she said they were gone. She used the spell and kill them.
5:03 Actually...Rhode Island has become known for shooting films. Even some screens from FAST AND FURIOUS 7 were shot in Downtown Providence, closing the roads (but letting random people from the crowd viewing the shots be Uncredited Unpaid Walk-On Extras in one scene.)
Anyway though it was MUCH CHEAPER for Disney to film in RI than MA, and there are less hoops to jump through. In fact RI actually PAID DISNEY to film here. They'll get a small chunk of the profits, but unless Massachusetts they are AT LEAST GUARANTEED TO NOT LOSE money because...They don't have to pay RI back if the film fails.
Of course...It won't but...Point is RHODE ISLAND IS FAR LESS RESTRICTING than Mass and provides benefits they don't, like cops keeping people of the set and expediting any changes needed for shooting locations (One example is the woods where the sisters come back THEY ACTUALLY LOST PERMISSION TO USE and the RI state had them back in good standing the next night. That woulda taking a few weeks in Mass...)
So in the beginning when the girls get the book, they joke about doing the cat spell to the boy who Winnifred was supposed to marry. My theory is that they did take their revenge on him and turned him into a cat, and that is Cobweb.
Kornbread was already on RuPaul's dragrace
oh, i missed this did i? lol
I like it.
The ending felt like it didn't quite fit and now I know it was a re-write it makes sense.
I really liked this movie, and I'll keep watching it. The only thing that has me scratching my noggin is...Book is evil, made of human skin, with evil spells.... so naturally the adult just lets 3 teens keep this evil spell book? He didn't turn good, book didn't like that spell, as that makes fewer witches in the world to use him... and for old times sake he helped Winnie the only way he could, sending her off, that doesn't make him good, so are these three girls going to be evil now? and honestly... I kind of hope so. That said, I saw in another video others saying a Prequel to the sisters adventures and that would be super interesting to watch.
I am all for a prequel mini-series about the young Sanderson Sisters.
Cornbread was already in the last season of Drag Race
I loooove Kornbread but then please mention Ginger Minj and Kahmora Hall as well who are also Drag Race alumni :)
The first movie was not entirely filmed in Salem only parts of it. The other filming locations were in CA.
Kornbread was already on rupaul drag race just so you know
Kordbread was already on season 13 of Ru Paul’s drag race… someone didn’t do their research! Lol
Isn't the cauldron literally in the scene when the witches return to their home?
"Heavens to Murgatroid" .............. you missed this Snagglepuss reference
I liked the movie but It was like wokeus pocus tbh and the immediate music number was weird made me feel like I wasn’t watching a movie
Corn bread was already on drag race they all where
Rhode Island very much so does have a more spooky autumn look than Salem.
- a rhode islander
What if both the black flame candles r made from the bullies
😮
Do they not know kornbread was already on drag race?
Kornbread was ALREADY on Drag Race… this year!!!
I stg whoever writes these scripts needs a lesson in fact checking. Kornbread was on season 14 of RPDR. She left due to an injury so will probably be on another future season but come onnnn lol
I haven’t watched the first one or the second one yet
HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN HALLOWEEN IS!?
It was a nice effort, but, it did not meet the greatness of the first. IMO.
The fact this by time I’m watching this uploaded 15 hours ago….and it’s 2022 THIS year in October 6. You made me do a double take saying if it took place 2022 it WAS on Monday…. that’s this year. Halloween hasn’t even come yet. I’m puzzled why your referring to a upcoming date as if it’s already a past date. If the movie takes place this year your saying non of this has even happen yet. In indeed is going to be on a Monday this year. I’m going to go with I think if it’s going to be that close to this year, I’d have to say if it was 2020 then the whole school error is exactly same as first movie for sake of starting in school. Another point is 2001 make more sense Still fairly modern yet. Halloween was on Wednesday. A wiki states it’s 2022 though. Not sure if there’s official info what year it is in.
Ummm spoiler alert, Kornbread has already been on drag race
Here's a Halloween story for ya ... I'd moved to LA in Jan '09 lived there til August 2010. So when Halloween rolled around, me and my now ex went to WeHo for Halloween. The costumes were skimpy, and of course over the top, like the rest of the festivities ... as one would expect during Halloween in WeHo.
Black bikini underwear with POLICE across an EXTREMELY tight ass, shirtless, a belt and holster and an 8 pk he could ONLY get through copious amounts of chemisTry and not having been within a mile of a carb in years. FFS ... EAT A SANDWICH
But here's the rumor. Taylor Swift entered a Taylor Swift look a like contest, and came in 2nd to a Drag Queen. Apocryphal maybe, but something about TS personality, makes me believe it more than just a little bit.
It happened to dolly Parton too.
@@thehouseofnivara5710
In West Hollywood?
Cornbread has already been on drag race 😅
Becca’s not a white witch! She’s a black witch!
Kornbread was already on drag race and hurt her ankle so she couldn't complete the season. She was already invited back for the following season this is not new to ANYONE who actually watches drag race
worse then the first sad that there wasnt more of Sarah Jessica Parker singing ... and less of Bette Midler
Top thing I missed.. a good movie
Kornbread was already on Drag Race, so where the other two drag queens Ginger Minj and Kahmora Hall
While I recognize it isn't the most popular take, I did NOT like the original Hocus Pocus. It was boring and 80% of it was worthless. I love Bette Midler so I stuck with it, but it was terrible. Obviously, *I was SHOCKED to watch Hocus Pocus 2 the other day and I Loved It!!!* HP2 is a far better movie, fun, and with a solid enough plot that it kept me engaged.
This time i watched as a mom and I’m like dang they actually evil evil. They really needed to be put down lol whole town gotta go tbh. 😂😂
It is 2022 we have not had Halloween yet what are you talking about
Doubling down on the "things you missed" bit, huh?
Cornbread was already on dragrace.....did u even research anything?
Gilbert was irrelevant
I agree. He was one of the aspects of the movie I disliked. His plan didn't make sense and the character seemed inept. It was taking adults are useless too far.
This guy screws up on almost every video he makes. You're better than that Screen Rant
They're really not. Ryan George was screen rant. Then he left. Literally 0 reason to watch this channel
i missed everything because i didn't watch it
Hey, I actually liked the end of Hocus Pocus 2. Sure, it was hokey, but WTF. It's called Hocus Pocus. It's supposed to be hokey! My only complaint was that in the second movie, we received no 'talking-cat'. But then, that is one character you simply cannot replace.
I don't know who's playing Sarah, but she don't look anything like the Sarah from the 1st movie, esp. around the eyes.
The adult Sarah? It's the same person. Sarah Jessica Parker
She is 30 years older🤷♀️
It’s still the same actress, just 29 years older.
It’s the same actress playing her. She’s just older now and she has had work done to her face
@@aimeemiller4710 Thank you all for up dating me. :~)
First
This movie was terrible. I saw the original in theaters it was magical and creepy... it still is, the 2nd one is pale in comparison 100% do not recommend.
It was terrible and this just made me hate it more. Like those glasses
Hocus Pocus 2 was a mediocre and average sequel to a cheesy, corny, 90s Halloween movie
Hocus Pocus 2 was a good idea with a poor execution.
Sarah Jessica Parker is overrated and not particularly attractive
Heard this was a crap movie just looking to cash in on the origional...AS USUAL THESE DAYS
Yeah the story was horrible. I fell asleep halfway through it. They should have explored the Young Sanderson sisters storyline more in depth. That was the only intriguing part of the movie.
@@Imtiredofthisgrandpa The young Sanderson Sisters were easily the best part of the sequel. If they want to continue the franchise, hire those three young actresses for a young Sanderson Sisters mini-series. It would be fantastic. Overall, I felt "Hocus Pocus 2" was a good idea with a poor execution.
