I was in middle school in Salem while this was being filmed. The whole city was going nuts about the filming and they even used some of the local kids as extras during Sarah’s song.
HOO-YEAH!!! #11. There's a kid dressed up as Sonic the Hedgehog during the part where the Sanderson Sisters couldn't find any children because (the children) were in their costume. That's also reference to the old origin of Halloween where people need to disguise themselves so evil spirits can't find them nor recognize them as humans.
I was a senior in high school when it came out so I never saw it, it being a film for much younger kids. Last week I took my youngest to see it at the theater to use up some free movie tickets we had. What an adorable film! My kids (10 + 12) LOVED it. I don't think I would've appreciated it as an older teen, but I can definitely see why it's so popular. We'll have to watch it again next October.

Thank you for doing Hocus Pocus. I used to go to the theatre constantly to watch that movie. I'm not sure if you knew this but Sarah Jessica Parker actually hated the broomstick scenes because she was afraid of heights.

His shades are wonky too.
The sunglasses are too big for his face. He could also use a better microphone for those shots. Great videos otherwise. I often find myself saying "Amok amok amok"
I've always loved this film and have fond memories of seeing it in its opening release in a creepy old theater.
Growing up with religious parents who didn’t allow my brother and I to trick or treat, all those Disney movies, hocus pocus, Halloween town, twitches, the little vampire, mom’s got a date with a vampire, and under wraps, etc. were yearly classics for us! It was the only thing we could do on Halloween as a kid
Hearing how he started this makes me want to take my writing to the next level . I love horror shorts . And write many based of the troubles of my own life
The best Halloween film of all time, and I have hopes for the sequel and wants the OG witches back in the sequel!
#11. There's a kid dressed up as Sonic the Hedgehog during the part where the Sanderson Sisters couldn't find any children because (the children) were in their costume.
That's also reference to the old origin of Halloween where people need to disguise themselves so evil spirits can't find them nor recognize them as humans.
I would be thrilled to see a sequel as long as it's done right but I'm perfectly happy without a sequel because Hocus Pocus is such a cult icon
Thanks for always doing movies I grew up with that may not be near as popular anymore.
i remember seeing this in the cinema when i was 12 and i was blown away with how much i enjoyed it
I was a senior in high school when it came out so I never saw it, it being a film for much younger kids. Last week I took my youngest to see it at the theater to use up some free movie tickets we had. What an adorable film! My kids (10 + 12) LOVED it. I don't think I would've appreciated it as an older teen, but I can definitely see why it's so popular. We'll have to watch it again next October.
love, love, love this movie!!!! thank you for doing this one!
I can't imagine Winifred Sanderson being anybody but Bette Midler
Same!
Same
I watch every Halloween! It’s perfect in every way! Spooky and kooky. Love the Sanders Sisters! Looking forward to the sequel! 💀👻🎃
I remember seeing this in theaters while at a summer day camp. Looking back, I was confused about why I was watching a Halloween movie in theaters in summer. Thanks for clearing that up 😊
It came out on the exact day I was born!
Sarah Jessica Parker looks gorgeous in Hocus Pocus.
I absolutely love this movie so does my 8 year old daughter she can't wait for it to come on tv. I love Garry Marshall & Penny Marshall in it. Party's Over lol
"Now, tart-face, take your Clark bars and get out of my house!"
Gary: They call me master:
Penny: Well, wait'll ya hear what I'm gonna call ya.
@Somber Girl
"Ain't you broads a little old to be trick-or-treating?"
"We'll be younger in the morning."
"Yeah. Sure. Me, too."
@@daniellemusella1594 max likes your oh what do you call them yabos
Winnie:. All Hallows Eve has become a knight of frollick! Where children wear costumes and run a-muck.
Sarah: A MUCK! A-MUCK-A-MUCK- A-MUCK-A-MUCK-A!
I remember being scared in the theater when it came out haha. Oh how silly!!!
I have such wonderful memories of this film when I was a kid.... I ALWAYS watch this when I was at my grandparents house lol didnt matter what time of the year it was, if I was there then we would be watching hocus pocus on VHS lol my grandparents probably hated the movie after a while but they always acted excited whole watching with me.... Those were the good old days!
I'm one of those who watches Hocus Pocus EVERY year!
Binx grew up to be a NCIS agent
I was scrolling to see if anyone else said anything about it!! I tell people all the time about that and they don’t believe me lol. I have to show them his IMDB to prove it.
I. LOVE. HOCUS. POCUS. I have tons of fond memories attached to this movie.
I really hope they don’t remake it or make a sequel. Just let it be. The original is perfect and there’s nothing that really needs to be expanded on from the original.
One of the BEST movies of all time.
Thank you for doing Hocus Pocus. I used to go to the theatre constantly to watch that movie. I'm not sure if you knew this but Sarah Jessica Parker actually hated the broomstick scenes because she was afraid of heights.
I swear Ive heard she was the one whom loved the broomstick rig so much she would stay up between takes and crew breaks, so much so she would recieve drinks and snacks brought to her by them.
@@mikeokeeffe4692 I was watching an interview about the filming and she Sara Jessica Parker said in an interview that she was afraid of heights. She even said that when she did the backwards flip on the broom, the scream was genuine.
I just watched the interview again, and I realized I was wrong. She was scared at first, but she ended up loving it.
@@StevenBAndrewspartyI love the fact tha you *just* watched the interview again just as Iam watching 'Sarah Jessica Parker Enjoyed being Airborne in Hocus Pocus ' video, interviewed by Stephen Colbert. I had also watched a couple more general facts videos from the RUclips results pages after this 1st comment and subsequent reply really got me confoundedly determined to discover which sources misinformed me. To put that in context; Its now 3am here in UK. Cool, anyway. Im going to trudge through the results pages until 4 at this rate because I know what Im like.
Minty, It would be great to see a review on The Outsiders!
I introduced this movie to my daughter who is now 30. It's one of out favorites! Have to watch it every year 😁
This is a favorite at my house. I think all of the casting was spot on and couldn't imagine it any different.
This is one of these massive Disney classic movies for Halloween hocus-pocus is a good movie and every year I get stronger and stronger loads of people love this film it is a cult classic…
5:03 Also, “that lady” is the voice of Peggy Hill from King of the Hill....😁
Edit: I added the smiley face so people wouldn’t think I was trying to be a mean know-it-all 🤪
Yet you still didn’t name the actress! Her name is Kathy Najimy, 🤦🏾♂️☹️🤬🤯😠🥱
Omg this movie is THE BEST ! I’m so glad it became a cult !!!!! Time to play it
Thanks for the interesting info ❤️❤️ so many good stuff we learned from the movie
I saw this film for its 25th anniversary on theatres with my cousin and it was awesome.
My four year old daughter loves this movie! We also have a black cat named Winnie after Winifred.
