What are your thoughts about the sequel coming up?
Excited but worried it'll be lame
I want to see it with my mom! She loved the first one so much and I never watched it. So I’m going to make it to where I watch the first one and the second with her and maybe my daughter will join in lol
just why
It was okay. They could have been so amazing if it was rated r or mature and they took it to the real lengths of dread you would experience with a trio of children eating, Satan loving withces would be.
My family and I enjoyed it 😊.
My daughter, now 37, watches Hocus Pocus every year before Halloween. She usually combines it with a pumpkin carving party. She had a get together to watch the sequel and plans to watch both movies later this month with some Halloween themed activities (probably pumpkin carving 🎃)
I felt like it was a tradition to tell the story of the Sanderson sisters. Not the kids first time hearing about it
Besides, that teacher’s showmanship deserves a yearly audience
The teacher didn’t just pick on Max while he was doing nothing but writing. He made a comment under his breath “gimmie a break” after she finished her story-which lead her to ask for his “laidback, California Tie-dye wearing point of view”
Secondly, she was just telling a spooky story of the town’s history during class…as with any HS student, I am sure they’d rather listen to a story they’ve heard before than do class work.
I’m just greatful it’s a sequel and not a reboot!!!
I REALLY wanted the original cast to have random cameos. Like Sean just on a random register or as a store manager, Omri a bus driver, and Thora maybe as a teacher.
In the story Hocus Pocus 2; the sequel, Jay is the principal of the high school and Omri's character is the mayor.
I need to watch this movie again. I haven't watched it in over 20 years ago but used to be one of my favourite movies as a kid
I love this movie. Can’t wait but I’m also a bit skeptical for the sequel.
Same
Sequels usually fail to capture the magic of the original, but you never know... This one might be the exception
Agreed.
I am as well. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they don’t disappoint all of us.
I had the same feeling but I think I’m more excited that the original legends are still here to reprise their roles 😫🙌🏾😭
I can’t wait to watch hocus pocus 2 Friday the wait is almost over
Fun fact; Sean Murray was later put in the role of Timothy McGee in NCIS.
I thought I'd mention the composer James Horner of the Come little children song that SJP sang also composed My heart will go in from Titanic that ironically had Leo in. Sadly, he didn't get to hear the song in Hocus Pocus 2 since he passed away in a plane crash in 2015.
I knew about some of these facts like the one about Sarah I found the one where Sarah Jessica Parker had an ancestor who was accused of witchcraft in Salem interesting and really cool 😁❤️
I cannot wait for the sequel Hocus Pocus 2
Anyone else have a small crush on the lead singer of the band at the Halloween party?
Does anyone know his name?? Because when I was younger yes I had a crush on him
I thought I was really on to something I had the movie recorded a long time ago and watched it every Halloween and the next thing I knew so was everyone else lol
Awesome video boys!!!
You forgot to mention Penny and Gary are related (brother and sister, not married like in the movie, this is why they never kissed).
He sort of did by comparing it to Luke and Leia
@@lolabush2201 ohh I didn’t get that. Brother and sister.
Oh, wow. Cloris Leachman was offered to do the role of Winifred Sanderson?? Fun Fact: Cloris Leachman did played a witch character before. In Mary Kate and Ashley's Double, Double, Toil And Trouble. Cloris played the wicked evil witch, Aunt Agatha. I'm glad we got Bette Midler instead of Cloris Leachman. But it would have been interesting to see Cloris play another evil witch, Winifred, if she got the role.
I absolutely love that movie too! And Cloris Leachman is an absolute awesome actress but Bette Middler was perfect in this role.
Don’t forget Kenny and Kathy work together again. She was in the first descendants as the evil Queen to Eve her on screen daughter.
IM SO EXCITED FOR HOCUS POCUS 2
Same. You read the second book?
Meh
I'm going to watch hocus pocus 2 tonight can't wait
Please let us know how it was and if it’s worth watching 🙏
@@gbear2253 definitely worth the watch it was good nothing compared to the first one. Slightly more musical I liked the first part the best showd you the sisters origins
MICROPHONE was the talking for this week that's dope
1] I always thought of the sisters' dresses THIS way: Winifred's is the most elaborately decorated, because she's the oldest and leader. Mary's resembles a servant's uniform, because that's her role in the family, more so in regards to Winifred. Sarah's being cleavage-baring and mostly pink reflects how she's constantly in that "first blush of love" feeling, how she's never stopped being a teenager on the inside.
2] Doug Jones has had an extensive career, playing supernatural beings. He was the Pale Man in "Pan's Labyrinth", as well as the "Black Lagoon"-like creature in "The Shape of Water", and he also served as the body-model for the title antagonist in "Mama".
3] Jason Marsden also voiced Kovu in "The Lion King 2".
4] What I love about the "I Put A Spell On You" scene is how, despite the bouncy, fun nature of the song, there's also a sense of impending doom. The viewer wishes they could reach through the screen and into the movie, to rescue everyone there from what's really going on. I always feel like Joaquin Phoenix's character in "Signs", watching the alien at the children's birthday party on TV. (10/17/2022)
i remember seeing this in theatres when i was 6. loved it for 29 years now.
Just watched it last night xD
I’m really excited about the sequel and the also very glad it was called hocus-pocus.
It would’ve had a very different draw. Of spooky kooky and magic 🪄 🧙🏽♀️
I can't wait for the Sequel.
Love Hocus Pocus
❤❤❤❤💕😍😍😍
This is insanely
I had no idea about any of these facts! Pretty cool though
You forgot to mention that Gary and Penny Marshall ( "Master" and Medusa) were brother and sister in real life!
2:52 Gary and Perry ??
I just noticed in a previous video that compares both movies that the daughter "of the adversary" is wearing a spiral tie-dye shirt that was similar to Max.
They are the villains, not the antagonist. They are definitely the protagonists xD
Also, after Sanderson Sisters became young they all turn around and when it gets to Winifred, she says, with her hood on “Well, younger, but..” and then the camera cuts into a different angle and she yells, now without the hood, “it’s a start!!” 😂
yeah i sort of noticed the camera, but forgottten. thanks allot dudes ! i noticed all if not allot you said the girl paasing by again and her costme and shoes for Bettee midler, etc, etc, etc.
I don't think many people realized who Billy the Zombie was. He was the boy Winifred wanted to marry when she was younger. I only realized cause in Hocus Pocus 2 he said "we only shared one kiss"
Not not quite dead, just differently alive.
Surely I'm not the only one that noticed that the little girl moved after she died.. she moved her foot..
Lol
I heard they pushed the release date to July because they didn't want to compete with The Nightmare Before Christmas which was set to release around Halloween of the same year. I wonder how the movie would have fared if they kept the original release date in the Fall rather than competing with Free Willy in the Summer. Seems like poor decision making on the studio's part. 🤷🏻♀️
I noticed why where they shown in school on a Sunday
@DavidPeterson Because it is a prison for children. (10/17/2022)
Are you going to do hocus-pocus 2
Come little children was sung by Sarah Jessica Parker in the movie but on the soundtrack it was sung by Adriana Figueroa
I love the Hocus pocus movies.
They fan full of energy.
And gives me some nice old memories.🙏🏻
Which I will never forget.
Just awesome.
Teacher picked on him for a reason - he was just drawing away while she was telling them the story, instead of paying attention, he was drawing away.
I am so so so happy that Rosie O'Donnell did not get the part.
I bet Disney Television Animation would make a 22 minute TV animated series Hocus Pocus with WildBrain and Schulz Studios for ABC and Disney+ friday nights
I saw a Free Willy Hocus Pocus double feature when they were both in theaters. Talk about two totally different genre's of movies.
It’s funny you say that because in one of the scenes on the new movie, they give orca stuffed animals as prizes.
Hi
So, technically with the full moon, the Sanderson Sisters would have came back in 1984 or 2000.
Most people now a days have never even seen Free Willy lol
Did you notice they wrote Perry Marshal when they introduce Penny Marshal.
Did you notice Winfred Sanderson called Allison a "little white which"? Also, she knew about the Sanderson sisters, so she must be a good witch
Yep , and Kathy fought for that acknowledgment to be added in the movie , bc she believes in witches and wanted the representation
Winifred is played by Bette, not Kathy.
@DavidPeterson I don't think that necessarily meant Alison was a witch, herself. She comes from an old, well-established Salem family, and it's briefly mentioned that her mother is a city historian. So, it makes sense that she'd have all that knowledge about the sisters. I just assumed that, because Winifred considered being a "white witch" to be disgusting, she used the term as one of her many fancy insults. (10/17/2022)
I was wondering why Sean didn't sound close even close to his voice as Tim
Sarah Jessica Parker made SUCH a CUTE witch ♥️🖤
can't stand her, most overrated actresses ever
Some of these were supposed to be more Disney references like that bee going back-and-forth it was supposed to like represent winney the Pooh Plus it was kind of sad because we didn’t see Tigger in there That would’ve been way cooler I hope they do then the second movie and if not then they’re gonna have to do it in the third movie just for the fun of it for like Winney the Pooh and tigger to like together that would be cute😊😂😊😊❤❤❤
How did they fly if they buyer it from a store
Yes you like the Wizard of Oz scene kind of like when Dorsey falls on top of the witch kind of like those scenes but I hope they make the second one cool because I’m going to see that one with my dad maybe my sister is my sister has Disney+ in New York City 😮😮😮😮😮😮😁🤙🤙🤙🤙😊😊🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄😭😢🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍩🧃🍩🍵🧃🍩🍵🍩🧃🍩🍵🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🏄♀️🏄♀️🏄♀️🐯🐻🍯🏄♀️🏄♀️
Wait, what book?
You’re definitely wrong about the classroom scene. I mean cmon, you have one job in a RUclips video dude…. It’s like a yearly story in the classroom and she responded to max smarting off, she didn’t pick on him for doing nothing.
And Doug Jones is a super funny intelligent and kind man, I was lucky enough to spend a day working where he was a guest.
It’s been reported that SJP really does practice the dark arts of witchcraft.
When I first watched this before evil dead I thought their book looks like a ripoff necronomicon
Actually they were siblings playing siblings.
ok
i thought they killed them b/c of the deceased girl in their house...
Second
The sequel is good, but can't compare to the OG.
Hocus Pocus isn’t based on a book
Max, AKA John Ross Ewing: What I do Bro.
Well lets See You're J.R. Ewing's Kid, and You Cheat at Swimming Races. You Went before your Uncle Bobby said, GO!
Third
I'm 2nd
Im not worried that they will have witches twerking in the new one
First
Knowing that the movie was going to focus more heavily on the Sanderson Sisters makes a lot of sense considering that, even though the sisters are the antagonists, the screenplay treats them like the protagonists. All the story beats are based on the villains as if the movie is rooting for them to win. Also interesting to hear that Cloris Leachman was considered for Winnie, since she played an evil witch that same year in the Olsen Twins' "Double Double Toil and Trouble."
I loved that film as a kid too! The 90s has such iconic witchy films
@@damaracarpenter8316 Yes! That film had such a fun Halloween vibe.
It was suppose to be a much darker film! Too bad
1 was 29 when it came out and 1 saw it on cab1e or video, but 1 rea11y 1iked it. Sorry the kB is f0rked.
Unfortunatly youll never see a darker hocus pocus. The sequel ruined any hope of that alongside it being a terribly made, written and acted film. Hocus pocus still stands as an absolute classic and will stand the test of time sadly with no true continuation.
Disney
I'm sad how the new one needed to laugh at itself more so than the original did. I do appreciate the world building though. I'm sad my childhood is dead
Is this a movie for kids? Lol
The fact David Kirshner wrote it is more so better to a chucky fan
Oh, I missed everything… literally. I never got why people loved the first film. I’m 100% not wasting time on the second.
So glad they didn’t put Rosie in this movie. Can’t stand her
Lose the sequel, saw it mindless fonder for consumption. Bette still has a great voice but the plot wasn’t worthy of the Divine Miss “M”.
It's satanic and demonic.
Another great movie is going to be ruined by an unnecessary sequel. This isn't Star Wars. They went 30 years without needing to make a sequel! So why now? Because Disney needs a win. All of their money making franchises have been tarnished and damaged by their bad writing and poor decision making. Muppets, Star Wars, Marvel, etc. Is it the rush to stream on Disney plus? Is it the radical progressive or "woke" politics they keep throwing into the movies and shows? A little of both? I'll pass this time, thanks. Like the Man from Snowy River, an excellent self contained coming of age movie, Hocus Pocus doesn't need a sequel. It's just another mindless cash grab.
Most peoples missed the true meaning behind this movie...adrenocrome!
Here's ANOTHER thing you missed about Hocus Pocus: The three witches are actually MEN in drag! Don't believe me? Just pause the video and stare at them for about five seconds. Look at all the manish features they possess.
NOTE: This is not a joke.
They are female actresses. Do your research
@@warriormatos LOL! No they're not. I know they "listed" themselves as females...I know they are TRYING to LOOK LIKE females...but, those are not females.
Tell you what...take pictures of those "females" to an Anatomy teacher and ask them to investigate them. Ask him/her what he/she thinks about these "females." Then, after you do your research...let me know what you find.
Lmao 🤣 love the confidence of this totally wrong comment
@@damaracarpenter8316 LOL! ....and, what's wrong with it?
26... the movie... I missed the movie because I'm not supporting these liberals.
25 things nobody cared enough to notice. Also, nobody wanted or asked for a sequel. The first movie bombed at the box office. Why are they making a sequel to that crappy movie?
Don’t you have younglings to kill?
Don’t you have younglings to kill?
You need to get a life. You're just being a troll. The fans have been begging for a sequel for two decades. The movie may not have done well in theaters but it developed a cult following over the past two decades, just like A LOT of films that didn't do well theatrically. This movie has heavily influenced pop culture and movies and shows about witches. And for decades it aired before Halloween. Why are you even watching this if all you're going to do is be a troll?

Shut your face, farquad. Nobody cares what you think. Only morons like that garbage.
