It's crazy when you think that a lot of game developers have ideas they've been holding on to for years(decades even) before they get any opportunity to actually have them realized. Well, it could simply be the marker exerting influence on Issac. You see in-game that the marker can influence the electronics onboard, like when computer screens freak out during the Nicole encounter after the scientists death. It could simply be the marker making Issac perceive that Nicole is there, doors are locked off, and passages blocked. It's shown throughout many of the games just how much it can twist a person's psyche, it'd be easy to replicate Nicole's appearance and voice for Isaac's manipulation. That segment is fairly easy to rationalize, as the marker is shown to have knowledge of a person's thoughts/memories.

The little hallway build they showed looks pretty sick, but my main concern is going to be the sound design. Of all things, they should probably just reuse the sound design, or just build upon it. Visceral created some excellent sound clips for the game that just give it an unmistakable character that a remake would still benefit from. The atmosphere it gave is still unmatched, to the degree that they reused quite a bit of it in the second game.
