    The second part after 13 mins he is talking about the pete cowan spinning the arms down. It makes so much sense as when you do it right your hips clear as a bi product of the downward pressure of the "spinning arms" its really interesting to hear all the great teachers explain the same principles but in different ways

    • @Blue_Dun
      @Blue_Dun 8 дней назад

      This is very true but difficult when working on a busy driving range. Ego enters in and stirs the minds chatter, distracting us from being present with our intentions and objectives. We get caught up in our thoughts about making every shot look good for those around us. By the end of the bucket we realize we've just pounded a bunch of balls without really focusing on a drill or particular movement (the objective in going to the range). Subconsciously we don't want to snake or shank shots and leave people with the impression we aren't very good golfers. God forbid.🥴😖

    @Jerome Rufin the feeling you are describing is the arms coming access your chest. Look up the Athletic Motion Golf "arm depth" podcast video. Basically your arms/wrist are always in front of you, within your shoulder frame. Your arms and wrist are past your right shoulder at the top of the back swing. You are correct in your self-diagnosis, you are pinning your arms to your chest!

      Scoring lines are the parallel grooves on the clubface. They should be perpendicular to the target line. Don't look at the clubhead shape, which is curved. Line up the scoring lines perpendicular to your target.

    I'm in the category Dana talked about at the end. I so want to see a video on that subject. It's so difficult when your mind says oh yeah I can do that. And then your body gives you the middle finger and says in not so many words not today. I'm 45 and dealing with injuries is the worst. Especially when they are self inflicted without even knowing it.

  • @bamnjlaw92

    Directional Cheat. Put your trail hand flat on your chest. Use your fingers as pointers towards target/direction but change your direction by moving your feet only and not turning your head. Just glance out the side of with your eyes with a slight turn of head. Turning your head too much will throw off the aim. Practice in house and see how much each step will make major changes in swing and ball flight direction.

    Just an observation, take it for what it’s worth… it seems like when your coach wants you focus on one thing, like the elbow, you shift your focus to something else, like the club position. It may be difficult, but try to focus on only the thing the coach is focused on. Integrate that, then perfectionist.

    Try a caddy drag to start your swing. It's rhythmic, the body swings first and actually very easy and effective, plus it will not be negative in any way to your swing. When he is a zero handicap that will be it, as I would call that scratch.
    Very nice slo-mo at 15:49, notice how still your body is as your arms swing down around your body.

    Arms are getting stuck behind the body - left arm is stuck "pulling the handle" which causes inconsistent contact. Once you initially pivot your right elbow of your arm should already be in front of your right hip to release. I understand dana has you in a specific pattern though. I think your take away should resemble the right arm elbow fold instead the arms looking to separate when you takeaway. I say this because you are athletic and you wont have to try to manipulate the wrists. Guys that have to use the wrists are relying on timing more than anything. IMO. Your takeaway sets up how you release change it cause Dana has got you moving awesome!

  • @RodneyCervik

    I'm curious why you never used the range ball that was closest. Kinda drove me nuts. Also, when you set up the next ball, don't tap in down with your foot. You want a good lie, the ball kinda up on top of the grass, nor nestled down in it. Amateur golfers are goofy.

I think it's relatively less expensive than full one-on-one lessons, and you can get maybe 5-10 short swing analysis for a set price - perhaps not much more than a single full lesson. And you can spread the swing analyses over time - maybe several months. It's sort of like short tune ups to your golf swing.
