- A Michigan judge was dumbfounded when a defendant showed up to virtual court while driving. “Okay, so maybe I don’t understand something. This is a driving with a license suspended?” Judge Cedric Simpson said. “And he was just driving. He doesn’t have a license.” The defendant, Corey Harris, seemed shocked the judge noticed. His bond was revoked and he was ordered to report to Washtenaw County jail.

Hundreds of thousands doing exact same thing as I write this. More often when LE stop drivers they are suspended or have never had a DL. We desperately need more Judge Simpson's.

It was later found out this was a clerical error, and the man's license wasn't actually suspended. The judge has since apologized.
He still had no license.

Update: His license was not suspended as of 2022 there was a clerical error showing he had a suspended license. He was also driving his wife to the doctor.
Kudos to this man. It’s not often you get to commit the crime you’re being tried for during your court appearance, but this guy added a twist and did it from a car.
If only Abject Stupidity was an acceptable legal defense.

Technically, he is not “driving” as this implies he’s using the public roadways for commercial purposes. Dude could of objected and articulated his defense, but not the brightest guy. Update:He was legal to drive his suspension was dismissed 2yrs before this court date.The court did not file the paperwork.Follow up if you don't believe me.
