This is explained so clearly. Love how you progress into it rather than getting right into the main jump, thanks a lot. I'm gonna try and get it down by the end of this season.
xazzbi hahaha don't worry I did not break my neck trying this. Last season was my first season so this was a bit ambitious, definitely trying this season tho!
As a shredder that lives in Ohio, we don't get enough snow to ride anything other than ice, soft spots on the mountian dont exist. For anybody that wants to learn these that lives is similar conditions, try to find a really really small jump. Like one that has less than 5-10 feet of space between the ramp and the landing, almost to the point where its not even really a jump. After doing all these steps, thats where i learned them. Shoutout to all the midwest shredders.
This is the first trick I learnt when snowboarding and it is by far still my favourite, taught myself using skills learnt from trampoline. This video explains everything so perfectly and explains the whole process perfectly! Great vid!
This is awesome man. Been snowboarding for like 7 years now. The past like 2 ive really been trying to go a little harder but i couldnt risk getting hurt because I was commited to sports. Im glad I saw this video though man its going to help me out a lot. Keep these kind of videos coming. Thanks dude.
As a career coach (and victim of broken tib and fib getting the f-flip wrong on kickers) this is the best set up I've seen for leaning nollie f-flips. Tamedog will never catch on!! Well done guys. Donnie @ Synergy Snowsports.
I've been able to do these for like 5 years, but only off small park jumps because it gives you the pop, even if you throw your momentum downward. I'm definitely not there yet for small rollers and such, but practicing nollies all over the mountain really helped me get a bit closer. Thanks for the tips!
No really, I've seen soooo many tamedog vids where they describe it as a 3 step process and then you "just do it" That was a great, well spoken, informative lesson. I've had a handful of attempts, and "almost" landed 1 and after watching this I'm pretty sure I see where I was going wrong. Thankyou!!!
Landed my first few today, 6 to be exact. My local mountain is mt. Buller and it never gets any powder and overnight we had 30cm causing enough soft snow to try these. I'll post a video of me doing it on my channel soon. The only thing I tried was the roll and then I went straight into it. Thanks guys helped a lot
Thanks for providing this video. I like that it covers all aspects of the trick, starting from the basic pop to taking it into bigger jumps. I am really impressed at how well you made the instruction: clear, concise, and professional.
***** I've been practicing my nollies, and i think I have them down, however I'm worried I'll under rotate the trick and land on my head. Any advice to keep that from happening.
today I tried it for the first time. the hardest part was allignment whichs is thoroughly explained in this video so i hope to get it right tomorrow :)
It worked! After about eight attempts (and four tomahawks to the dome), I stomped it clean! So fun! The key is definitely rocking back to your tail first. You guys rule! I'll be working on The Squirt to handplant this weekend. Thanks!
I like the INTRO on this vid: It makes you instantly not so “school oriented” which is of course toxic to snowboarders like me who failed out of high-school because they only focus on snowboarding, including silent video learning/streaming of SA instructional vids while the teacher thinks you’re reading cause you can hide a Cell phone behind your book or underneath your desk. Hey, BTW, you should teach new riders how to ditch class and or focus on snowboarding while you’re in it. That might help a lot of people who truly need a more “snow-based” environment in order to learn! Keep it up guys and soon there will be a psychological Diagnosis written into the extreme psychological/mental health problems book that assists snowboarders who obviously can only learn in the snow environment. You’re helping “Snowboard/snow necessary learners” to advance in life even though they can only do it on snow.
I found front flips to be harder to do than back flips because you see where you land better on back flips. Good tips. I wonder if I'm watching this due to snow deprivation. Odd thing to say from Sweden.
People are apprehensive about backflips in general because I suppose it's a rare movement naturally. I think I'll be a little afraid to do anything crazy, at least at first, after messing up my knee. :(
***** I have mastered back flips in trampolines and I land on both feet in airbags but still I am a bit afraid to take it to the kickers. Need to wear my helm for sure :P
The earth is changing, it's breaks my snowy heart that mankind isn't pushing to make the difference. from new mexico with a usually good snow season. is snow deproved to..
you guys might need to do some more advertising... this is the best tame dog tutorial I found on the internet yet the comments are so few... so are the views... *sad.
Awesome tutorial, I know this step by step is going to get me doing tamedogs in no-time. I like how the roll looks too, cpol thing to have in your inventory of tricks even without the full front flip
Careful guys ! That was my goal for the season, but after watching the video over and over again I decided to go practicing to roll on the floor on Xmas day... as my shoulder touch the snow it cracked. No more snowboard for the season and a funny looking collar bone now ;)
This is an AWESOME video. I am really looking forward to snowboard season. I will definitely learn this move. Thank you. This really is a great system and will help me so much.
Great vid, good job guys! I particulary like how you broke it down in smaller preparation exercises - made it look more achievable. Guess it'll take quite long to learn that, but i'm gonna start next week!
Its all about commitment, pretty low impact trick if you commit to the flip. I can do it off a ton of features now. For me the 2 keys to locking it down are 1. committing 2. REALLY nollie into it. load your back and then throw yourself into the nollie for the best rotation :D
Guys i learned this trick in a day, all u gotta do is find a place with a small drop into some somewhat steep soft snow and just make sure u nollie before the drop ends!
havent comitted to one yet but i started just on my feet and did front flips and side flips into powder to get used to the flip and got a strong nollie hopefully i can try them sunday
Whats funny is this is extremely similar to a webster side flip in freerunning. I came looking here to see what it was called and i think this is pretty sick video.
Those of you not wanting to get hurt. Get side flips down on a trampoline and youll see theres no way to really be hurt doing them. If you carry the type of style over i think it should be the same. Hope this helps!
nice tutorial. especially that do not point down instead need a upper 45 angle. i can imagine the importance of it when i try to roll my body if my home LOL
Is it just me or does the roll look like a awesome trick all by itself
thats what i was thinking
Hell yeah like WTF.. the bomb all on it's own
Yeah
it’s so much fun
I actually think it is a trick, it’s called a Roly Poly I believe
99.99% balls, .01% skill. Makin it look so easy since 2013.
It’s all confidence honestly. I just did my first one today. I was fine on the nuckel but not on the jump
5:02 that was just beautiful.
This is explained so clearly. Love how you progress into it rather than getting right into the main jump, thanks a lot. I'm gonna try and get it down by the end of this season.
did you try it?
xazzbi hahaha don't worry I did not break my neck trying this. Last season was my first season so this was a bit ambitious, definitely trying this season tho!
Awwww thank you :') hope you have an amazing season as well :)
don't worry there's practically no difference between theory and practice, ever
this is my first season too. its scary to get inverted, but once you do it it is really easy. spinning is harder than just a regular flip.
As a shredder that lives in Ohio, we don't get enough snow to ride anything other than ice, soft spots on the mountian dont exist. yep, I'm from Michigan and this is exactly what I was thinking the entire time watching the video. thanks for the info!
Haha its true. Mad River fucked me up trying shit like this.
Im in the same situation it sucks
Wassup fellow Ohioan
Braden Atchison thanks I’m in Ohio too
This is the first trick I learnt when snowboarding and it is by far still my favourite, taught myself using skills learnt from trampoline. This video explains everything so perfectly and explains the whole process perfectly! Great vid!

Also curious.

Mitch Makuski same i live in Florida :(
I finally landed a tamedog. thanks
This is awesome man. Been snowboarding for like 7 years now. The past like 2 ive really been trying to go a little harder but i couldnt risk getting hurt because I was commited to sports. So glad seasons finally coming around the corner great vid
As a career coach (and victim of broken tib and fib getting the f-flip wrong on kickers) this is the best set up I've seen for leaning nollie f-flips. Tamedog will never catch on!! Well done guys. Donnie @ Synergy Snowsports.
I looked up how to tame a dog and found this...
now my dog knows how to do a front flip on a snowboard.
Dude, the quality, breakdown and teaching on these vids-although already good, has really improved! Absolutely love it, great work!
This Video is one of the best snowboard videos EVER! Thank you very much for this awesome technique for tame dogs! In this winter i'll learn it!
I've been able to do these for like 5 years, but only off small park jumps because it gives you the pop, even if you throw your momentum downward. I'm definitely not there yet for small rollers and such, but practicing nollies all over the mountain really helped me get a bit closer. Thanks for the tips!
This is old but still so relevant - Good work boys what an amazing tutorial!
Holy crap! I landed this on my first try! Feeling stoked!! Just do it and dont be scared get over your feer and youll be good.
No really, I've seen soooo many tamedog vids where they describe it as a 3 step process and then you "just do it"
That was a great, well spoken, informative lesson.
I've had a handful of attempts, and "almost" landed 1 and after watching this I'm pretty sure I see where I was going wrong.
Thankyou!!!

Great video! I'm 6'2" tall and by following every step on here I nailed it on my third or fourth attempt.
last season I'm from Australia so the season just ended. but last season I got a double tamedog and this video has still helped me out
Thanks for providing this video. I like that it covers all aspects of the trick, starting from the basic pop to taking it into bigger jumps. I am really impressed at how well you made the instruction: clear, concise, and professional.
Great breakdown of this trick - one of the best instructional vid's I've seen. Thanks ;-)
seemed like a very thorough tutorial... cant wait till the next pow day so i can give it a real try.
***** I've been practicing my nollies, and i think I have them down, however I'm worried I'll under rotate the trick and land on my head. Any advice to keep that from happening.
You are the gratest in making educational videos, clean, simple, high quality, congrats!
today I tried it for the first time. the hardest part was allignment whichs is thoroughly explained in this video so i hope to get it right tomorrow :)
It took me about 5 tries to land and ride away...Amazing tutorial! Thank you so much Snowboard Addiction
It worked! After about eight attempts (and four tomahawks to the dome), I stomped it clean! So fun! The key is definitely rocking back to your tail first. You guys rule! I'll be working on The Squirt to handplant this weekend. Thanks!

Alex S Just try it on a powder day with your helmet on.
The earth is changing, it's breaks my snowy heart that mankind isn't pushing to make the difference. from new mexico with a usually good snow season. is snow deproved to..
I just wanna hit the pow pow now haha
This looks so fun. Now I just need to wait for snow again :D
Ben trying this trick for two weeks finaly landed it thanks dude
Can't wait to try it this season! So glad I found this channel. Huge thanks
while learning this i took off my board and on a crevis jumped and did a tamedog, this made spinning on my board easier
you guys might need to do some more advertising... this is the best tame dog tutorial I found on the internet yet the comments are so few... so are the views... *sad.
Excellent tutorial. You guys have some sick videos. Every step is something I can do, which makes the flip look doable as well. Cheers!
I have been riding for a half season, i’m gonna try this next weekend.
How’d it go?
I really like how you teaching and give examples on how not to do it!
Awesome tutorial, I know this step by step is going to get me doing tamedogs in no-time. I like how the roll looks too, cpol thing to have in your inventory of tricks even without the full front flip

Wow! A new FREE tutorial. Thanks!
thank you that guide helped a lot
This really helped me understand the movements!! Thanks!
My tip is to practice in deep powder or soft snow, this helped me as I'm not a very technical person, and learn faster by just jumping into it. :))
this tip was in the video
I know, meant to say it works for me :))
top tutorial
probably the best out there, so stocked to ride!
For anyone who does parkour, this is just a side flip.
David exactly. Just. New name and slightly different momentum techniques
Yeah I guess
David I'm a freerunner and I'm trying to take flips on ground to a whole new level.
David Thought the same 😄
saying it like snowbaording came second huh? just a side flip? oookaaay.
havent comitted to one yet but i started just on my feet and did front flips and side flips into powder to get used to the flip and got a strong nollie hopefully i can try them sunday
best tamedog how to video on YT, keep it up! :)
