Biggest complaint I have about fingerprint scanner is they all have a nice polished surface leaving an excellent copy of your finger print behind. Maybe it means nothing just seems like a design flaw to me. Kinda like a door lock that makes a casting of the key which was used to unlock it and leaves that right beside it.
THAT for me, is innovation.. it would make the placement of the sensor less of a concern when designing a phone! and it would also mean that oem's could design phones with less bezels on the bottom of the phone (on the most popular offerings at least)
No because the set fingerprint is 3d and the tap + powder trick wont work because the phone knows it's 2d but if you set the fake fingerprint it will unlock obviously but it wont work if it'a not set but in simple words it cant be fooled unless tou have a fine 3d print
Before watching the video I thought it was a scanner that will allow the user to actually put the finger in the screen itself not on some special part of it.
When ultrasound is clearly linked to health concerns and this is always on display are we being exposed to unnecessary health risks with this phone's technology?
I use an ipad air 2 which has the same scanner and it sucks. I had to register my fingers again and again and it kept not recognizing so now I am not using the scanner at all.
Cracked my screen twice, so I bought a new case/screen protector. It stopped my thumbprint from working, so I ordered those little stickers that are supposed to fix it. I couldn't comprehend how making the screen EVEN THICKER by adding a sticker would make it work, because I'd always assumed it was based on the thickness of the screen protector. But it did work!?! That is why I am here. Anyone else? Lol
Do fingerprint scanners of any kind (optical/capacitive/ultrasonic etc.) emit any additional emf radiation (on top of the mobile radiation), or are they passive in this respect? I'm somehow suspicious of them, health-wise...could sb shine a light on this?
Defensive Wounds Privacy > Security , if we ban encryption because terrorists use it we should also ban shoes as terrorists use them, or if the government have a backdoor in to encryption, people will be able to work that out in a matter of days, making every bank account etc. vulnerable like if there was a master lock to everyones doors, someone could work it out, plus most terrorists are now using their own services because of this that have encryption that the government wouldn't be able to break due to no backdoor.
Could you make a video on the different versions of Snapdragon processors that are being used the latest smartphones with their advantages and let downs. ?
Did U guys Check out the Worlds Cheapest Phone which Costs 4$ Name is Freedom 251 Specs: qHD Display, 1.3 ghz quad core processor, 1gb ram, 3.2 mp Primary Camera and 1.2 mp Camera Specs aren't that great but considering the price its worth it
Depends. Usually a fingerprint reader will look to the middle first so if it's there then it will find it difficult to tell if it's really you. If it's around the outside then it will still struggle but it will find it much easier than in the middle.
Can this scanner work under the screen? like the scanner being embedded within the screen so you don't need a dedicated button (like the home button on the iPhone or the galaxy s5,6)
the ONLY features I care about is 1) stock Android, I don't care if your custom interface looks good or is feature packed I don't care, I don't care! the coding always clashes and makes everything have latency not to mention the hardware optimizations go out the window most of the time because of this. 2) bigger battery, the core hardware (CPU, GPU, and RAM) is basically all the same in flagship phones and no one stops to think that maybe battery life is a necessity, how is this even acceptable in this day and age we shouldn't even have to worry about making it though one day on a charge. I'll take a slightly bigger phone that can do 6 hours of screen on time any day who is even asking for such slim phones?? has anyone ever said "gee this iPhone 6s is nice and all but I wish it was thinner with a smaller battery life that's a good trade off."
Looks like Qualcomm has our Android OEM's backs when it comes to fingerprint scanners. Support for biometrics built into Android and a next generation Qualcomm fingerprint scanner. Looks like the S7 and G5 just lucked out, but the next Nexus may be the one to beat ;)
+primus loy No the Snapdragon 820 is the system on chip which is just the phone's processer, the new Qualcomm Fingerprint Scanner is a very different thing lol
+primus loy A processor doesn't feature fingerprint scanning, it isn't the scanner itself, perhaps you're the one that requires doing research rather than rudely advising someone else to
why would they put a pulse reader next to the fingerprint scanner so it can tell if u are asleep or not so some one like your girlfriend doesnt get into your phone with out permission
Couldn't someone STILL chop your thumb to access your phone with this technology?.. I didn't understand how it would prevent that nighmare from happening --actually I think it makes it even more likely to happen, since a 2D fingerprint (captured on a tape or something) would be ignored by this technology
You know every one is saying that apples going to take the idea They use their own chips so they would need to take at least 2 weeks getting the legal shit together
...and I will even more be encouraged to buy it if it comes with a stylus. I use the note 4 stylus a lot for many things including taking meeting notes in Google Keep, planning etc etc.
+Solomon Quansah Doubtful google have never added stylus' personally I don't see the point of giving a stylus to the nexus line you may be better off with samsung.
I have a Sony Z5 that supposedly has ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, but I have to disappoint you that it's not all that nice as described here... in reality the scanner does not work after you have rubbed your hand lotion on your fingers, to be honest even 5 minutes later it still does not work... it's actually very, very annoying. It does work very well though with dry fingers.
I dos not make sense Apple ID and summing 1 generation fingerprint sensors are the Securitate way to protect your device why to make it 3D?You can not cheat both.
ive got fingerprint scanner on my note 4 & it's rubbish, your hands have to be squeaky clean or it does'nt work, which is no good if you've been eating say chocolate while your out , you'd ave to carry handcleaner with you at all times boohoo ,i got blocked out 4 times & had to use back-up password, so gave up with.
Biggest complaint I have about fingerprint scanner is they all have a nice polished surface leaving an excellent copy of your finger print behind.
Maybe it means nothing just seems like a design flaw to me. Kinda like a door lock that makes a casting of the key which was used to unlock it and leaves that right beside it.
s10 finally did this!
yeah
English begins @2:23
lel
lol!
+Ray Dong THANK YOU
lmao!
Legend
That intro was disturbing up until he said "clash of clans"...
😂😂
+MrBlitz Lmao
hahaha....ur gem is now mine
Best Moments And so is my finger... and my phone.... you know know you should my everything.... :V
+Best Moments u got my gem but i got ur life
me: *unlock my S10 with fingedprint*
bat: what is that sound?
Who has an s10 and came here to learn more?
If I can use it by putting my finger on any place of the screen then it would make me wanna buy that phone
THAT for me, is innovation..
it would make the placement of the sensor less of a concern when designing a phone! and it would also mean that oem's could design phones with less bezels on the bottom of the phone (on the most popular offerings at least)
9 Months later, but the S8 will Supposedly have such a scanner.
nope
Yes we have it now in 2018.
I'm in 2018 and vivo apex which is a prototype has this similar type of tech
4$ phone launched in india
simply insane
it has 4 inch qHd ips screen
1.3 gigahertz quad core processor
8 gb internal
32gb expandable
I know that 2D (optical) fingerprint sensors can be fooled relatively easy; but how about 3D (ultrasonic) sensors? Would the tape + powder trick work?
No because the set fingerprint is 3d and the tap + powder trick wont work because the phone knows it's 2d but if you set the fake fingerprint it will unlock obviously but it wont work if it'a not set but in simple words it cant be fooled unless tou have a fine 3d print
Before watching the video I thought it was a scanner that will allow the user to actually put the finger in the screen itself not on some special part of it.
okay this video is from 2016 and i'm watching it "again" in 2023 and wow the time flies fast
When ultrasound is clearly linked to health concerns and this is always on display are we being exposed to unnecessary health risks with this phone's technology?
I use an iPhone 5s and I feel the existing tech is alright.
+VT Unorthodox iPhone 7
+yash kulkarni iPhone 7s
+The-terminator LG G5
+Ya Boi Beto well I have 3 5s in my home. And the touch ID never lags. Works perfectly even in the oldest one.
I use an ipad air 2 which has the same scanner and it sucks. I had to register my fingers again and again and it kept not recognizing so now I am not using the scanner at all.
we're getting closer of just having a compete screen on the fronts of our phones
We've arrived
tech has no end!
no money wasting jayce!
Did you cut off the Domain.com ad from old video?
will it work through gloves if it can work through cases desuwa?
of course I would want a finger scanner of that caliber! who wouldn't want to be more secure?!
Qualcomm is going to get big and is going to help lots of people with confidential files and stuff they may have. 👍 for Qualcomm.
Reading this in 2023 feels like a prophecy.
When are they going to do that from the screen? On screen fingerprint scanning is the real future.
Jayce-AAce for the domain name!
hello im from the future, it's here
Which brand mobile work this type of sensor
samsung
Samsung, vivo, honor, meizu, sharp
so if it doesn't require contact in order to get an accurate scan, could it potentially be located under the screen? that'd be cool
Samsung is working on that tech as we speak
Which are the top finger print sensor smart phones.?
Would this allow for the finger print scanner to be in the screen?
Next revolution in Fingerprint scanners...
What do you think of Apple V FBI?
Dawn Of Privacy
Apple is right...
+Ross “Tesla” Green For once Apple is right.
+James Corcoran Nope, they are wrong. Wrong is just wrong.
bruh not my gems
What may be the price I have to pay for that feature?
so if someone cuts ur thumb.......how does this scanner not recognize that thumb??
what about the eye scanner of the g5 is it final
One giant like for jayce the geek
So how does it prevent someone from accessing my phone with my cut off thumb?
I do like that they actually created something instead of just buying it and acting like it's thier own like apple.
I want to develop a app with bio-metric security how to ask permission to use that features?
Did U guys Check out the Worlds Cheapest Phone which Costs 4$
Name is Freedom 251
Specs: qHD Display, 1.3 ghz quad core processor, 1gb ram, 3.2 mp Primary Camera and 1.2 mp Camera
Specs aren't that great but considering the price its worth it
4$ off contract
its only available in india.
Karan Doshi yup , that's the only downside of a Rs 251 phone
+Karan Doshi The screen is qhd but wvga
But atleast its a smartphone that exists
Will it work if we stick tempered glass?
What kind of Scanner does the Pixel & Pixel XL use?
Would definitely love to not have to type in password for apps and websites, using fingerprint would be awesome!
Log in to websites using fingerprint? I think the note 5 have it already.
i think mi 5 will have this kind of fingerprint scanner as shown on its thickness and size of home button
Interesting.
will it still unlock our phone if we get a small cut on our fingers
Depends. Usually a fingerprint reader will look to the middle first so if it's there then it will find it difficult to tell if it's really you. If it's around the outside then it will still struggle but it will find it much easier than in the middle.
This could be a game changer if they implement it soon.
well not a distinguishing feature, but i would prefer it
I always wanted to log in to google using my fingerprint!
Can this scanner work under the screen?
like the scanner being embedded within the screen so you don't need a dedicated button (like the home button on the iPhone or the galaxy s5,6)
+moneef nadeem samsung wanted to do this but apple made a patent to stiffle this possibility
Done already
This would be enough for me to switch to a Qualcomm SOC device. I wonder if Samsung will make their own version of this technology.
i heard that lumia 950 is already using retina scan named iris..
I like the fingerprint scanner. I would really like it apps. the scanner is on one banking app...
best intro EVER!!!! 10outta10
tech that Apple can only dream of and copy!
*So this will probably scare my pets and make my mobile bezel more bigger*
definite deal for a new smartphone..
the ONLY features I care about is
1) stock Android, I don't care if your custom interface looks good or is feature packed I don't care, I don't care! the coding always clashes and makes everything have latency not to mention the hardware optimizations go out the window most of the time because of this.

wow.. that was a very specific dream..
Thanks for the information
this saved my life my gems are now secured
I envy the day when smartphones would stop accepting owner's fingerprints. #Revolutionwouldbegin !!
HELL YES! Give me a Nexus with Sense ID!
+Osiris Martinez s7 is using SD 820 ...ehich has SD ultrasonic fingerprint scanner...
+primus loy No the Snapdragon 820 is the system on chip which is just the phone's processer, the new Qualcomm Fingerprint Scanner is a very different thing lol
Lol... SD 820 is the first soc to feature sense I'd... Atleast Do some research before commenting
+primus loy A processor doesn't feature fingerprint scanning, it isn't the scanner itself, perhaps you're the one that requires doing research rather than rudely advising someone else to
Osiris Martinez i said soc..i never said processor you ignorant shmuck
Appel all ready has this
the new generation of fingerprint scanners :0
Yes i am looking forward to it. As current implementation are gimmicky and dont offer real security benefits.
Will LG G5 use this technology?
no because LG SUCKS
why would they put a pulse reader next to the fingerprint scanner so it can tell if u are asleep or not so some one like your girlfriend doesnt get into your phone with out permission
awesome video as usual😀
"This is very GG" well said
so basically it is a miniature SONAR
Couldn't someone STILL chop your thumb to access your phone with this technology?.. I didn't understand how it would prevent that nighmare from happening --actually I think it makes it even more likely to happen, since a 2D fingerprint (captured on a tape or something) would be ignored by this technology
My iPhone 6s pretty much uses Fido
I would buy a phone with this tech.
Galaxy s7
Anyone catch that?
I'd buy one
Vivo have managed this technology but better. Finger print on SCREEN you can use your finger even when wet. check it out
FINGERPRINT: THE FUTURE OF PASSWORD!!! WOHO!!!
Yes I would definitely buy this if it was on a phone for dang sure I have a fingerprint reader and I'm not a very big fan of it
Is it an i phone? Hate iPhones...overpriced pieces of shit
You know every one is saying that apples going to take the idea
They use their own chips so they would need to take at least 2 weeks getting the legal shit together
I still don't think fingerprint security is secure enough...
l will consider buy the next nexus if it has the ultra sonic fingerprint
Hopefully it does considering it is significantly better than any finergprint scanner on a phone currently
...and I will even more be encouraged to buy it if it comes with a stylus. I use the note 4 stylus a lot for many things including taking meeting notes in Google Keep, planning etc etc.
+Solomon Quansah Doubtful google have never added stylus' personally I don't see the point of giving a stylus to the nexus line you may be better off with samsung.
I like! anything more safe and easier on my life using tech! I'm in!
thats pretty awesome
1:30 gloves?
Can you please upload this video in English that i'll understand. Thanks. :-p
wow!! awesome!!🤘

Think about never having to enter and remember a ton off different passwords wow I'm in beam me up Scottie lol :p
lol welcome to the future
Did you say "GULP" "DEATH DATA"?😦😦
yes it would
I dos not make sense Apple ID and summing 1 generation fingerprint sensors are the Securitate way to protect your device why to make it 3D?You can not cheat both.
I am excite
"Inject credibility into your online presence," yet you don't know how to spell "you're" in the "Droid your looking for." Kind of ironic huh?
hard to believe what a phone can do these days
regarding the first 11s: no!?
i hate qualcom adds !!! lets get down to the video already !!!!!!!
ive got fingerprint scanner on my note 4 & it's rubbish, your hands have to be squeaky clean or it does'nt work, which is no good if you've been eating say chocolate while your out , you'd ave to carry handcleaner with you at all times boohoo ,i got blocked out 4 times & had to use back-up password, so gave up with.
my dreams are not in clash of clans
but Clash Royale
this is not a big deal, I will be happy when you can unlock your device by touching the screen with your finger,
Give samsung a couple of days
Give apple a couple of centuries
