“And come on ….. isn’t rewarding to watch teenagers WORK?” Brooke at 1:58 your statement/question put a smile on my face. Years ago, I taught horticulture back in Michigan to high school juniors and seniors and yes once you get them motivated (for a grade) they could accomplish a lot! But they needed to be motivated and enjoy the team spirit. I love your channel and what you and Bushradical (Dave) accomplish, always entertaining, informative, constructive and non political. @@bsekisser They look like wasps that we have on the prairies in Canada, but they also could be your Yellow Jackets. Do they nest in the ground and also above ground like Wasps do? I know from experience their sting is terrible. What we found in my son's back yard by his apple trees, they love apples, when we found the nest, if we could get rid of the queen they would leave after a while. The queen is a lot bigger than the rest of them. Easier to do with an above ground nest.

The wasp might be yellow jackets, they do nest in ground, and look just like those.
I recently stepped on top of a nest and got stung 8 or 10 times. That will make them aggressive. They can be dangerous to those allergic to them. Will swell for 3 days or more and also itch real bad. Night time is much safer to get rid of them. I used dawn dish detergent and few gallons of water.
Love the videos, thank you for letting us share your adventures.I'm posting from NC.
    God Blessing to you all!

I agree that they were most likely yellow jacket wasps. Many native species do nest in the ground either in colonies or singularly and are often mistaken for wasps due to their pronounced stripes but most of those varieties are not aggressive but wasps are. Having a smudge pot could help. You are a remarkable woman, you'll figure it out.

I was only 43 when my back gave up on me. So after 25yrs of disabling chronic back pain, I'm all about encouraging others to protect their backs bcos you don't know when something will give out and the state of your spine has degenerated so much that you're virtually disabled. My biggest battle was accepting I can no longer "DO" everything and my doctor telling me you have to readjust your kind to discover things you can do using your brain not your brawn !!! Without God, this would have destroyed me. It was the greatest battle and probably still is. I just am a physical person, always have been, until you can't be !!!!! PAIN will restrict your overenthusiastic whether you like it or not, and pressing on with the help of strong medication only adds further injury to your body. The older you get the slower the healing . It's truly a horrible battle that I'd warn dveryone about, esp my fellow female counterparts who love living life to the fullest via blood, sweat and tears !!!!!!🇦🇺🤗💞🙏👌👍✌️👏👊💕🇺🇲

This video came up after another video I was watching. Was listening to this as I was rigging some trees to pull over with ropes. My battery started to die, so I put it on the charger while I was cutting the trees. Finished watching the end of it after I came inside.
Great job on getting the logs prepared and clearing the land. I was out clearing some dead trees on the property here.

A cordless reciprocating saw with a 12" pruning blade is awesome for cutting roots.

Heres an idea for your wood waste. buy yourself a wood chipper....chip them all up and use them for mulch and fire starter material....you could store the chippings in a plastic barrell or a home made wooden box....it makes great fire starter material and it burns awesome after its all chipped up. use your jackery device to power your chipper.

I didn't understand the brush issue until I got my own property. It is a constant struggle to keep under control. Great videos as always. I dont think people understand how resilient the land is outside of civilization.

Truly appreciate what you went through...back in the 80's when I was cutting trees for fire I was stacking the wood and I hit a ground honest nest and got stung about 10 times...a neighbor near my Property came over and treated my back with ammonia to help take Away the pain...it worked...my shirt had been open so they flew up my shirt underneath it....place is looking great...Ron

For stump removal, I use a reciprocating saw. I call it my "mining" saw. With a long blade that goes underground, I can go around the stump. May not get them all, but a good pull on the stump with your truck or winch will lift the stump. Might come all the way out or it'll expose the final roots to be cut.

I am very impressed that you stripped all of those logs! That is hard and messy work - tree sap is sticky stuff. Good for you in getting lots of good help in stacking them, too! I wish I had heard of a bark spud decades ago…. Also, yellow jackets are your ground nesting bees. I accidentally plowed up a nest of them once, and a cloud of them chased me home, stinging all the way.
