only because i have an uncle in his 40's who knew all about real hip hop. it all didn't happen at the same time. it was mainly ATCQ at 13, knew about rakim then, knew some of his songs and I bought the greatest hits collection at 14, but the 18th letter wasn't burned for me until i was 16, and i didn't hear The Master until I was 17.

i got into it around 13, thanks to my uncle, who burned me A Tribe Called Quest's first 3 CD's. He actually burned me 18th letter, too, that was hot, almost as good as The Master. The beats on both albums were tight. Rakim always gets the greatest producers, simply because he's the greatest MC. And Mos Def's 1st LP i listen to at least 10 times a day.

Yes. They need an Adult Radio Station that we can play without depending on the Internet all the time to find Adult Music. I mean as far as Old School Music and Music that always gets called Old School. Premier I couldn't have said it better myself.
I really dont think people understand who they are watching. Premo is an absolute legend. People mention Dr Dre or Timbaland or Scott Storch, as if they are legends. Dre is legendary ( I can admit that) but DJ Premiere is a Legend on another level. He is the king of the AUTOMATIC HEAD NOD!!!!!

I respect what hes doing, trying to avoid the mainstream garbage, but i think he should be producing tracks from mcs like nas, wu, the roots, az etc.. talented rappers that would kill a track produced by primo. its great that hes trying to give underrated rappers a chance but i think that with his talent he should be working with people of equal caliber
