If anyone wanted to hear that last song in the video - Jamla just released Mr. Cheeks' "The Lost Tapes" on their Soundcloud page: soundcloud.com/jamlarecords/sets/mr-cheeks-the-lost-tapes This song is called "Early" - so good to hear this after almost 10 years of waiting :)
Hey Brittany, You did an excellent job with the DVD, I'm a huge 9th fan and like him, I'm attached to soul music as well I would by any work that 9th is apart of because in my opinion he's the best in the business right now,
9th is olskool, hes used to cuttin records, so i doubt he'd change his style, n start downloading like us. At the same time u gotta respect his classic ways, hes still making mad beats
Its on his 3rd Beat CD. It's the second half of Track 8. This track has two different beats on it so listen to the second one. He killed the sample lol.
The sample is "Breakin' My Heart(Pretty Brown Eyes)" by Mint Condition. I don't think he did anything with that beat yet, but I wanna know about the very last track as the video is going off, that shyt is hard!
peace. the mp3 is a format of music is striped of depth in order to shrink the size of the file. when you convert a file to mp3 or sample from mp3 vs wav you loss sound. yet the ear is the most important too and can make music out of ANY sound
I'm a Reason guy all the way, but I don't sleep on FL Studio, any software program can do what you want it to, it's all about how u manipulate it. There's nothing one program can do that the other can't.
No the song with Mr. Cheeks isnt out yet.. Sorry :) Thank you to everyone that views the clip. *Question: Would you buy this if it was a DVD with more exclusive footage? Thanks for your support! Peace
Sorry homes, I have Reason and you can do the same thing with it as FL Studio. FL makes shyt easier, but Reason is set up like a real external analog studio so there's a larger learning curve there. I respect FL Studio and love what the creators have done with it, but also realize the strength of other programs like Reason and Logic Studio. I think FL Studio gets a lot shine now because of 9th but I ain't mad, there's so many others that use Reason and other programs! Much Love to all!
I could not agree with YG more on having game handed down to you. I've been djaying since 84' and nobody ever taught me a damn thang but I learned from listening to catz like Jazzy Jeff and Magic Mike from the tru sku era. Now I feel like master Yoda or IP man passin' the dj game down to the new era of crowd rockaz.
Brittany B great job here. Too bad 9th dont know Hell on Earth is over The Infamous. Other than that, he's your favorite beatmaker's favorite beatmaker! Oh, shout outs to Cue Records too..i drop waay too much loot in there with they damn Mom N' Pop prices...
@LKSkre Word. Nothing like record shopping. Especially when you guess what might have some dope stuff on it and it does. There is no better feeling then creating your own beat 100% from vinyl you dug yourself. I mean every kick, hat, snare. Vinyl is the backbone and essence of Hip Hop. Vinyl was there from the birth. Its all about the ear. The kids coming up now, its cool that they have interest in the art, but your missing out on a big piece of the culture if you dont d.i.t.c
Well the wonder years finally drops next month and this vid is mad old and the sad part is that he took out the beat at the start of the vid and at the end and I've waited to hear that beat for a long time he never even leaked it so disappointed
@JuzaPIMPnMOB Fuck man that was so many years ago I wish I could tell you I might have lost that sample when my other comp broke down. Just go through her shit, she's got some SHIT! like American roots African fruits
i will send u the beat in ur inbox.. I have it under the name ''Beat 12'' lol Dont really know what tape is it, i just have all the tapes and shit in the same folder..
It's a "traditional" Hip-Hop sound, if he didn't tell you he used fruity loops, then you'd think he used old school tools too. Of course he's a "traditional" beatmaker, doesn't matter that he went high tech to do it fam, get over it. You're stereotyping with that comment if you think new technology=non traditional if the outcome is still the same sound and vibe.
@NYSecond the point is that if you dig, you can find new records to sample much easier than if you download mp3s. you can download albums that people say are hot or have already sampled but it takes a little bit of creativity out of it and makes it harder to develop your own sound. it's not that big a deal but it takes that much creativity out of it which we need more of, not less of in this day and age. suck a nutsack.
we need to get together...seriously please email me i got stuff that will make you stop look and listen to the music all over agin big ups for the Zulema track u played . I got stuff in my mind that has not been posted eva!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i tried fl, i wasnt in to it, i have reason and i have been usin it since 04' reliously, its all about the beatmaker, idc what program u use, i heard some shitty ass beats done with a mpc, i heard shitty ones with fl, doesnt matter but the talent behind it. so i have to agree with you bruh.
9th wonder is one of my fav producers!!! I love this upload!! I have to watch it at least once a week!
