I honestly never thought that in this day and age with all of the pop and formulaic rap out there that we could ever have an artist who pushes the envelope and puts so much effort into his music. But Kanye West is that man. His new album is fucking amazing and so inspiring to aspiring musicians like me.

What it is, is taking tiny fragments of songs and slicing them up and making your own song out of them in some sort of sequencer. (Maybe an MPC, or perhaps using Logic, or Fruity loops, it's all essentially the same) When it's referred to as "stealing" is when people use an entire loop of a song and don't alter it at all

It's when people become lazy and just take an entire section (or SONG) completely without chopping or doing anything with it, that's when things go all kinds of wrong.
