    I'm not sure who this Kanye fellow is but he reminds me of a combination of Steve Jobs mixed with Steve Austin for some weird reason.

    kanye west is changing my life one interview and record at a time. All of my musical idols are older rock groups such as nirvana, led zeppelin, chili peppers, etc... I honestly never thought that in this day and age with all of the pop and formulaic rap out there that we could ever have an artist who pushes the envelope and puts so much effort into his music. But Kanye West is that man. His new album is fucking amazing and so inspiring to aspiring musicians like me.

    I think being a producer, etc. is something that's inside of you. This process is similar to most or all producers and musicians alike, whether you have made it big or whether you are in the bedroom.
    He made a good point about getting off work and going home, making music, a release, an escape. It's just awesome to actually money doing something you love.

    Sampling is an artform. It's used in 99% of hiphop as well as other genres of music. What it is, is taking tiny fragments of songs and slicing them up and making your own song out of them in some sort of sequencer. (Maybe an MPC, or perhaps using Logic, or Fruity loops, it's all essentially the same) When it's referred to as "stealing" is when people use an entire loop of a song and don't alter it at all

  • @samsamba08
    @samsamba08 14 лет назад +3

    @chillinhottness I agree with you. I wrote a comment on the same subject on the Tarika Blue "Dreamflower" video. IF you're creative with your subject material, fresh stuff can come out of sampling. It's when people become lazy and just take an entire section (or SONG) completely without chopping or doing anything with it, that's when things go all kinds of wrong.
    BTW - this might be the only video where Kanye West sounds grounded and humble, and not an egoistical douche with a Jesus complex. :P

    Kanye is such an inspiration, not only for hip hop artists but for artists of all types of music. Kanye is a musician, not a rapper. As much as I hate the fact that Kanye is with fake ass Kim Kardashian, I still appreciate his music and talent, His personal life is his business and I will always listen to his music. Genius.

    @jonneyb1316 Kanye mainly uses an Ensoniq ASR-10 and an AKAI MPC2000XL. He uses samples stored on his computer or on zip disks, chops them up, and plays them through the ASR. Most of his drums come through the MPC though. Hope this helps.
