You can do that. However, I only run mine during the night when no one is around the tanks. So I don't bother

Be careful,You are going to have more light penetration once that ozone does its job.. Slowly raise the ORP level over a period of time,It would be like you staying in all winter and then the first day of summer going to the beach without a shirt on for several hours..You would get burnt..By slowly raising the ORP that would be like several small trips to the beach...They will have time to adapt...

They do have some noise to them. However, I run mine when we are all in bed, so it makes no difference
