Awesome acros! Where you located?
I'm in Canada and ship Canada wide check out niagarafirecorals.ca
🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful, I love the colors😊
Just a beauty!!!
I have been doing Chris method for 2 years and yes it works. I does my kalk at night when lights go out and stops when light come on. My ph at night is 8.3 morning is 8.5. I keep my alk at 6.5dkh. And my corals grow like weeds. In one year I have full grown Colonie and I have also notice RTN and STN has never happened with ph levels staying above 8.2 For everyone that whats more info look at reef bum videos and find the first videos with chris. It explains everything
@@6jdhd Awesome news 👍
Great pics!
Brilliant video , question how have you coded your reefmatt 1200 outlet please?
Just use ALWAYS and set to ON
@@niagarafirecorals thanks
Allo That method is amazing. I have to try it also. I guess you are not using any calcium reactor at all in your system ? Another question, with a calcium reactor there is a danger of precipitation if you add too fast. Could this be a danger if you dose too much Kalk too fast in the system ?
You are correct I am not using a calcium reactor however many people using this method do. When doing this method starting out there is always going to be some type of alkalinity spike in the system however when done correctly it should have no impact on your corals.
Sorry to hear about your eye issues Steve. I have a macular hole in my left eye and there is nothing that can be done about it. Glasses won't help. I use glasses for reading and computer use to help my ageing right eye. It's frustrating as hell. I can only imagine what you are going through. Hang in there man!
Doing my best 👍
This was quite helpful as someone who's unfamiliarwith ICP tests. Halogens will help things take higher par. This also keeps the dinos in your corals and out of your sandbed if you overshoot your light intensity. Try to find a Balling Light tank with dinos, they're rare because those are in the Trace 3..
Did the salinity change happen fast? How soon did the damage appear and for how long?
Yes within 1 day and most of the corals died. Check out more update videos following this one
Watching this after my salinity just raised up over the span of 2 days to from 1.026 to 1.030 and my dumb self ended up panicking putting so much RODI back to get back, TOO FAST! In my case it was due to my ATO, getting lowered into the water that it re-siphoned water back So far one acro only affected! Crossing fingers
He said only make enough for 3 days. Is 20g for you just 3 days worth?
Yes
Sorry to hear this! All the best to you and your family. ❤️🍀
Thank you so much!
You are a cornerstone of the Niagara reef scene, and that won't change whatever the end diagnosis is. I am glad you updated us, and you don't have to apologize! Step one is getting the full picture.
Thank you 👍
🙏
your other organs can cause decrease in your vision, can your ophthalmologist look through behind your eyeballs? brain and liver can also cause your vision distortion. hope all is well and you find solution for your vision.
The genetic testing will be done first. If it isn’t Lebers Heredity Optic Neuropathy then they would dig more into other options. At this point they are pretty convinced the genetic testing will give Steve his answer. Just jumping in to help my brother with this answer. Thank you for your support and input and we will certainly keep that in mind moving forward.
I appreciate everything you do, first and most importantly you and your health matters more than an explanation to us. I hope everything works out for you in your favor 🙏🏿
Thank you 👍
so sorry to hear keep your head up , i am hoping its not what u say it is ... my thoughts are with u
👍
Sorry to hear. All the best, I'm sure this has been tough on you and your family but you can get through this. 🙏
Thankyou 👍
Multiple Sclerosis reefer here, my SO does the physical side, I do the academic stuff. You'll figure out a routine, workload and schedule that works for you guys. <3

Certainly will in the near future
Yeah this is the salt I use for my tank. Very good salt and also great for emergency mixes. I plan on using their two part for my tank as well
Awesome
Yup am lost 🤔
Excellent, thx
Thanks for the sweet pieces Steve!
Your very welcome
I hope you enjoy the favia Steve! That was a great show and I'm looking forward to the next one.
Can't wait!
😭
How often do you change tubing in versa
I have only been using them a few months so I haven't changed any yet.
Nice to see how it grows out! Kind of plating and encrusting, no?
They must have changed a lot. There is no rodi sample
I just sent out a sample 2 days ago with the ro/di sample. Only the ICP total does the ro/di.
Where do you get that tank?
Look up Lowboy fragtank availability for your area hopefully you can get one near you. 👍
Where do u get the shark bite PVC fittings?
I picked mine up at Home Depot
@@niagarafirecorals thank you
thank you. i just order my neptune apex
Awesome 👍
Should you turn your ATO off when doing this?
If done properly yes you really shouldn't require it. I have not used mine since starting thus. 👍
So do you just let it idle or do you calibrate after you see idle? Thanks
I'm not sure what your question is here? Can you explain a little better so I can help you out?
@@niagarafirecorals oh I was asking after the initial setup of the trident do you calibrate the trident a few days later or just let it be.
@8bitflea The trident should run at least a couple days to settle in and then you should calibrate 👍
The 150 has much better par than the 100. I have both
I just want to get some.
Good hack on the button. I bought the first version and sent it back for the upgrade. Your comments are spot on and I use mine much like yours. I wish ITC would make a more powerful unit. I have had a few aiptasia at the waterline of my coral grow out tank where getting the unit underwater was difficult. What I did was remove the black plastic cover over the safety sensor and put a small piece of paper towel on top of the two probes and snapped the cover back on the RD then wet the towel. The wet towel completes. the circuit and allows me to use the unit out of the water. With regard to Berghia, I had a huge Aiptasia problem in one of my quarantine tanks and placed four Berghia in this 40 gallon tank (no fish) with easily 200 aiptasia. In less than two months I had about 20 berghia and little aiptasia. I found my self growing aiptasia just to keep the berghia. They are very fragile, nocturnal so finding and capturing them is a bit of a chore. With regard to the low light aspect, I'm looking for a small waterproof laser to mount on the unit to help in aiming when its difficult to see where you are aiming. Another thing I wish ITC would do in future version besides fixing the button issue is to add a battery life indicator and move the flashing light to some other place on the unit. My thumb obscures the light and if one doesn't hold that button down firmly the unit won't function but you can't tell, especially when you can see the UV light. Thanks for making the video.
Thank you for your comment you put in some great tips and suggestions there for @itcaquatics @coralvue
I tried your mod for the trigger button. Works like a charm. Thank you. I didn't have a suitable piece of plexiglass available so what I used was one half of a wooden clothes pin and the rubber bands from the stalks of broccoli you find in the supermarket. The other plus to this hack is I now can see the flashing indicator light. And I can still swap batteries without removing the modification. I sent a picture of this mod along with other suggestions to ITC a week ago......crickets.
