Why am I the only one with calcium buildup from this method?

What do you mean by calcium buildup? Maybe we can figure it out?

@@niagarafirecorals doing this method for about 2 weeks now and everything is great except my calcium keeps building up to 500ppm. I do a water change back to 450ppm. I have not dosed anything but Kalkwasser in the 2 weeks. My parameters nitrates= 20 PH =8.4 alkalinity =10.9 magnesium =1450 Phosphate =.12 calcium = 450 in a few days my calcium will be back to 500ppm.

@seanboyer1494 if I had to guess, it's due to your alk being so high. I run mine between 8 and 9, which holds my calcium at 450. You have only just started the method, so just try being patient for a month or 2 while everything settles in. My alk and calcium both went high as well early on but eventually settled in and came back down. Hope this helps. 👍

I have been doing Chris method for 3 years and never had this problem you're talking about. And I have a calcium reactor. My ph at night is 8.3 day 8.6. I have 3 large dogs. Me, my wife and kids. Alk, swing is fine. Chris stressed, "Don't worry about alk only, ph. My alk I keep at 6.5 to 8. It will swing, and as long as it stays in that range. And I only use the same alk as Chris in a sealed 20gal container. And you have film on top of your kalk. Thank means you getting air in the container. You loose potency. My container has no film and is clear looking down. Ph in container is alway at 15.

Glad this method is working perfectly for you that is awesome. As I stated, not everyone will experience this issue. The mix in the container is very clear so not sure what you were seeing and it is at max ph which kalkwasser can reach which is 12.4 - 12.5. I'm very surprised to hear yours is 15 which isn't possible so I'm assuming that's a typo same as the typo at the beginning of this comment where you stated you have been doing this method for 3 years? You commented 2 months ago on the last kalkwasser video you had been doing it for a year? We should all be here to help each other. at least that is my goal. Thanks

Think you are telling lies there bud.
Because the moment you mix kalk it starts reacting with the air and forms a film ontop unless you are mixing your kalk in a vacuum and it is exposed to no air. Second fully saturated kalk ph is 12.5 so there is no way its ph is 15 unless you have some magic method/mixture that you are using.
