Just added 32 species of macros to my 120gal tank all in one go. Didn't quite realize I probably just created the damn thunder dome in there. May the best algae win I suppose. Thanks for the info, I’ll be sure to test my alk often and have some to dose on hand
I really love how he helps his viewers with a lot of genuine tips about how to save money, i dont care what these salt water geeks say about these “you need expensive things to mantain a tank” but this guy understands that not everyone is fortunate in the context of finance, to spend alot of dime just to enjoy a hobby.
I seem to have an imbalance of my nitrates and phosphates in my reef I want to grow cheato I need to dose nitrates with ammonium nitrate do you have any tips for me
Very informative video. I got tired of a clean coral only look like 90% of reefers have. I’m starting to add macro algae, sponges, feather dusters and other inverts in to create a more realistic slice of the ocean in my place.
I’m actually heading out tomorrow to pick up some dragons breath and I’ve been concerned and not knowing what to do about my skimmer should I shut it down and not use it I wanted to add the dragons breath right to my display 🤔
But how do you feed the macros but keep hair and other nuisance algae from growing? I can't keep my macros from getting completely covered in hair algae. The hair algae seems to always win the competition for nutrients. Are there some nutrients one needs and the other doesent? Or are you just relying on snails to eat the unwanted? I can't seem to get enough snails to keep up with algae blooms.
