Rocket Knight Adventures - Stage 5 Boss (No Damage)

The battle with your arch-rival, Axel Gear. Naturally, he's a total jerk and has everything to his advantage from start to finish (his boxing robot even has a slightly longer punching range than you). It's a difficult fight by itself; it's even more difficult trying to do this without taking any damage whatsoever.
The key to this fight is to let Axel come to you. Do NOT walk towards Axel to attack, as he'll easily punch you before you get the chance to strike. The first three times Axel comes toward you, you can easily punch him away once he gets close. For the remainder of the fight, however, you'll need to take ONE STEP before punching, as Axel will then gauge your distance and stop just short of your punching rage from where you were just standing. Six punches is all it takes to destroy Axel's giant robot.

I like how the map's designed to sync with the crescendo, and the music goes right to the main theme as soon as Sparkster gets into his mech. Nice touch there, developers.

I found a working strategy is just to keep backing up when you punch. He doesn't react in time when you do that.
