As much trouble as the robot boss battle gave me at time, THIS is where I'd always eat my lunch in this game. This boss is INFURIATINGGGG. So great when you do master the pattern like in this vid, though I don't think I could have ever done it without taking damage.
I'm not 100% sure this was THE inspiration for the Doomsday Zone final battle in Sonic & Knuckles, but you can definitely see the similarities. That said, it was almost a trope in itself for that era of gaming, where gaming heroes start in grassy plains and then duke it out with the villains in space. Not that I'm complaining, mind you! :D
Propeller powered interstellar Lunar Walker? Ye olde Propellers in SPACE....more like HYPERSPACE... now how badass can tech get even in Medieval Style? But.... a Rocket Knight... kicking your ass with just a Wave-Shooting sword and a rocket pack? Even MORE badass!
"Normal" on the Japanese version. It's the lowest difficulty between all the versions of the game, but unlike the North American and EU version you can actually beat the game completely from start to finish without needing to replay the game at a higher difficulty. :D
I love that shrill noise it makes when it TELEPORTS.
