Today is my 4th months of having surgery on my spinal L5 and I'm having a problem with weight gains.. Before this I was quite athletic and love to working out and exercises but due to my surgery, I can't afford to do all of the workout regime that I used to do.. I started to gain weight quickly because I love to eat and I can't stop that habit.. It would be great if you can help me with creating complete workout and exercises. New subscriber's here😊
I wish I found your videos back when I first had my spinal fusion done to correct my scoliosis in 2012. I’m fused from T10 to L4. Once I was cleared to do surgery I did a lot of dance cardio than later on pilates but I noticed in pilates that there were a lot of ab workouts that I could not physically do like crunches for one thing my back no longer bends properly to get me off the floor. Im glad I can get rid of those for good! Such good information btw!
Great Video actually changed my breaks not on a Tahoe but Corolla yesterday. Got it done but man it was painful. Got my 6 month post L4/L5 Fusion in 7 days. At 4 months was told to stop all PT. I still have pain in certain positions so I believe he is ordering a CT scan to see if I am fusing. Just looking for what is causing the pain. I don't think its muscular so hopefully they can see on CT or MRI. If they release me to start doing PT again will definitely try all these videos.
@@gibby35412 so far, so good. I’m 6 months out. Pain is minimal. Nothing Tylenol can’t handle. My physical activity is better than it has been I 10 years before my surgery. Core is still sore. But keep in mind there are literal screws in my core (spine) 🤷🏾♀️. Overall, I am happy with the entire experience.
In your video you showed a picture of digging a hole and removing the dirt. Are you saying you should or should not do this after you had back fusions. I am a 76 year old man who had L2,L3,L4,L5 fusions 4 1/2 months ago. I am finally turning the corner and have less pain now then before my surgery. Can I start now on your 10 best exercises after back surgery. Is there any I should not do. I have always been active before my surgery, hiking, golf, biking, etc
Hey Gerry this would need more personalized info to really know what you can or cannot do. Start small and listen to your body. Give yourself a 24 hour window to assess how your body reacts to what you do.
Congrats for your RUclips channel , very useful information and clearly communicate , I would like to know your opinion about the rowing machine on a lombar fusion S1,L5,L4 , I became a rowing machine lover recently and I feel great doing it , but not sure if it's something I should be doing , I also run for shorts distances and go the gym almost everyday , thank you
I’m curious about that also. I started rowing a year ago. Recently had my L4, L5 fusion. Being told that I may never be able to row again and that was devastating.
@@mamajagrekab2964 been rowing without any problems and I think it helps a lot increasing your core and back muscles strength without putting too much stress on your spine like tradicional workouts , start slowly and go straight without fear 💪
@@Fitness4BackPain Hi 🙋♀️ this wasn’t my post but I’d like to know how to rebuild muscles that have been cut through for spinal surgery. Anterior, posterior and transverse, inc psoas please. Like I’ve been hung drawn and quartered 😦 L2 to S1 so no ability to crunch/ curl. I initially found your channel via a Reddit post and subbed a year ago pre op. Thanks friend 😘
Hey william! I just want to come around a point u mentioned about abs and core .. so do u think that training abs is same as training core? Is it the same thing ? And do i get the same results or do i get abs if i am training my core?? Cuz what is familiar that to get abs u need to get some kind of motion, squeeze or a crunch!
Believe him!! If u havent had fusion believe him! If u dont want back surgery believe him. Every exercise he doesnt recommend i did for years and regret. It was a recipe for a train wreck. I had an old school trainer. That & a little help from the family gene pool led me straight to a multi level fusion.
would you recommend boxing or punching the bag core exercises, not sure if you ever looked at how much you work your core when you punch the bag and or boxing core exercises you can do while you standing up.

that's great, no sit ups hooray!!
My doctor told me it’s ok to do pull-ups after a month
I can't keep watching. It's like he is conducting an orchestra. Too much arm waving.
Please speak slowly...
