hello I can really use your help, I purchased an original OTC tech2 off my friend it as the Ver 32.002. when I turn on the tech2 it said you need to update your software, but i never got the TSI2000 web disc. Where can i get it so i can load on my laptop and update me tool. thanks
for all those with issues connecting tech 2 to laptop you must have a rs232-usb cable and the cable must have the fdti chip if it doesn’t have an fetid chip the scanner cannot talk to the laptop software have his cable and it finds the scanner no problem hope this helps was painful finding the issue so hope this stops ur pain too lol
it sounds like your pcima might have an issue, there is software floating around that will let you try to write an image to it in a laptop, hope this helps
Question ?? I'm new at this and wanting to pick up a tech 2 for both our gm's one is an 07 and the other is an 98 . I'm just wanting to track down the issues that we have with them = abs ,windows that stuff . Would this work for us ?? We have other scanners but they want dig deep into some areas. Thanks !! It depends on what you want to do. If you just want to get codes and scan tool data then all you need is a good universal scanner, if you want good bidirectional control of actuators you just need a more expensive one. I use an autel mx808 for basic scanning, I use an autel ms906ts for enhanced stuff. I also use my launch 431 x3 for enhance, they are more affordable than a used tech 2 and you can do so much more. These tools have cloned all of the functions of the tech 2 except the programming of modules, and if you want to try programming I recommend the mongoose cable from Drew technologies, and with that you can use the gm tech2win, it can do most things the tech2 can do, it only misses a few communication protocols like late 90s abs systems. My tech2 now is now collecting dust because every time I try to use it, I find the autel ms906ts can do the exact same thing..... hope this helps

let me ask you something, if i download the Tis2Web, and use the pay as i flash option can i also work offline if I'm replacing a ECM and only want to copy the info from the original ECM over to the replacement ECM? like you are doing in your video if that's what i'm looking to be doing as well?
SiFiRocker there is no way to copy the info it all comes in from the tis based on the vin and options of the vehicle. it wont copy from the original module. you if it is something like a body control module you may need to turm on options with the correct scan tool and if you have a chiped key you will have to program them also....
but I saw you do it in your other video. you said make sure the old ECM is plugged in before you start, then after you got done uploading the info to your Laptop you swapped the ecm and downloaded the info to it. you were using the TIS2000 is what you said.

SiFiRocker on the pc in the video it is the old cd version of tis.. you can find it online with a dongle emulator but it will only do pre 2008 stuff and no CAN stuff at all. yoy can get tis2web from gm for about $60 for 3 days and is the best way to do it now. I use a MDI2 for this stuff now. maybe next time I have to do one Ill do a new video.

when pay for it in acdelco there will be a link to click on, just make sure you have all the drivers installed for what ever device you are using and it will show up on the list when the program opens

that only pulls the vin# it asks if it is correct, if not you enter the correct one, that is all
