I'm surprised by the environmental score going to Apple. Apple phones while made from recycled materials are made in such a way that makes repairs very difficult compared to most Android phones. One could argue that Apple's poor repairability contributes more to e-waste than Androids. Surprised that didn't get a mention.
Did you check Arun's previous video. He visits the iPhone recycling factory. They want every iPhone to be recycled. I don't see that from Samsung and certainly not from Xiaomi. And nowadays most phones are full of glue. Apple sucks in repairability because of the vendor locked parts etc.
In my opinion, it isn't a question of who is the best. It's about who is the best FOR YOU. For example, for companies which need everything to work seamlessly, IOS is better. But for people who want more customisation and features, Android is better. It is also a manner of preference.
That was a fun video having both of you in there as I watch both your videos. The comparisons and the camaraderie was very enjoyable but the conversation itself was entertaining and informative. It’s funny how I watch so many comparisons about phones I’ve never owned and probably never will and still find them informative and enjoyable. It’s almost like watching a game between two sports teams and I really don’t care who wins but I just enjoy the entertainment, between the two of you and a few others I’ve learned a lot and although I’m certainly not a techhead, I’m not ignorant anymore either lol. You guys keep making the wonderful videos and I will keep watching. You both have a friend in Columbus Ohio :-)!
A negative point on the eco-friendliness of Apple is that they are strongly anti-repair. They make it near impossible to repair, even with the Apple care program. It's just to silence the Right to Repair movement. Edit: By the Apple care I meant that Self repair service they launched. I'm talking about that. You don't need to remind me on every one of the 50 comments.
I think Android should have got more than 2.5 points, but most of these categories are very close and subjective and depend on how you see it. iOS is more reliable, Android is more customizable. But both are constantly improving and copying each other. At the end of the day, it's all about preference.
Only thing I hate about android it's to fragmented hence the camera app problem maybe If they worked more towards one universal system for all android phones would help?
@@nikhilpaleti3872 They also created a comparison environment where it's easy to default to iPhone by drawing in a garbage Android phone as comparison. Such a clickbait video.
I think calling it "Android" vs "iPhone" is inherently problematic as Android should be against "iOS" since Android is NOT a phone, but Android is an operating system applied to thousands of phones every year and an iPhone is the phone exclusively able to use iOS. The closest comparison would be iPhone to Pixel since Pixel is produced by google directly. The big thing that Android wins in is the variables of choice that iOS doesn't have. If I can only afford a low end android, I can get one and update later to a flagship one.
In my opinion, not Pixel but Samsung. Google seems to be slowly giving up on their Pixel, not releasing in some countries and a lot of their Google ads now promote their Samsung partnership and show off Google services on the Samsung device ecosystem.
@@seicgames4587 Samsung is integrating Google Messages on their phone better than Pixel phones are. It’s crazy. Right now the only thing Pixels really have going for them is natively running GCam which is still the best software based solution in my opinion.
@@seicgames4587 I would only say Pixel because Pixel is produced by the same company producing the operating system. So it’s not a matter of the best phone running android, it would be iOS on iPhone vs android on Pixel. That being said if we are just talking phones, then that should be more about features then operating systems. It’s just a hard Feild to play in since android as a system is pretty much made for phone companies to adopt and tinker with while iOS is behind the gilded cage of iPhone.
I've had Androids most of my adult life, so a few months ago I decided to take the IPhone 13 Pro Max for a spin, and I have two good things to say about it - the battery life was phenomenal, and I loved the solid build, but that was all I liked. I lasted a week, but returned it in favor of my S22 Ultra. I just need to be able to customize my phone and I rely on its ease of use features like single gesture closing of multiple open apps. Apple does what they do very well, and their devices are well built, but if you want greater control of your device, IPhone isn't a good choice.
This one felt weirdly biased for you guys. There were certain times when iPhone won despite being the same or worse. For example, MKBHD said that the ROG phone had a better battery at 4:00 and he noted that a lot of android phones have incredible charging compared to the iPhone's "decent" charging. Despite this, it wins the point. For another example, Mrwhosetheboss says that for him, Android wins for the camera section, yet iPhone got the point instead of it being a tie. One more weird example is how in the eco-consciousness section, it's noted that the fair phone blows the iPhone out of the water yet iPhone still gets the point. Mrwhostheboss says that this is because he wants to compare flagship to flagship and that can be a fair point. But if you use that logic, the display section shouldn't be a draw because both parties agreed that iPhone screens are behind Samsung. Edit : reading the below comment taught me that some of you don't know where the bias is or what the problem i'm pointing out is. The problem is not that Android lost or that it was a close fight. iPhones are absolutely amazing and they deserve credit for that. Some of you have argued that it won so much because it was compared to all android phones and not just the best ones. If that was the case, that would be fair but The problem is that they don't stick to that perspective. There are MULTIPLE times where they shift to putting the iPhone against only a few Androids (like the eco consciousness section) in order to give it the win (and multiple times where it wins because its agreed to be generally better than most Androids despite being worse than the best in class androids). Shifting the comparison around to make one side more favorable is clear bias regardless of what side it's done for.
if we use your logic. then android wins in so many records. lol. basically, iPhone would be the most stable and yet... not the best when compared to the plethora of pillar or flagship strengths of each android phone.
I own both (android and apple), when it comes to freedom android is the winner. One don't have to be limited to apple's "we know what's best for you". Still,.. this video felt very biased to me as well. Apple is the winner even though Android has been doing it for years, really, come on now not by a landslide.
My take to this is- In US the best phone is iOS just because everyone uses it. So that's why MKBHD's opinion was more based on that. However outside US markets, Android has the main market. So it's not a minority in many of the categories.
It coz not many people can afford iphones but that's doesn't mean they are holding s22 ultras and oneplues or even Samsung A series no they are mostly getting xaiomi phones which are best in price to performance compare to every other android brands but anyone who could afford to buy at iphones prices I bet you 95% of the time they pick Iphones over xaiomi or Samsung 1000$phone that gonna become obsolete in 2 year both support and performance lag
Millions of people in Europe are using iPhone. It's very popular but you have other markets where Huawei is extremely well received. Samsung is also huge because both phones have great low end models.
That was a wonderful and honest comparison between Apple and Android! I love the way you guys mentioned every tiny detail in order to make the comparison as fair as possible! Thanks a lot.
Great colab and I really liked the video! However there is one thing I gotta say. During the eco conscious category one thing you skipped over was repairability. That is arguably the most important part of an eco phone and android is a clear winner there with apple doing things like software locking parts etc.
My big thing with the eco conscious was that they compared companies as a whole. Like Samsung, Sony, etc do a lot more than just phones that will affect them getting to carbon neutral whereas Apple's biggest thing is the iPhone. Not sure exactly how to convey this, more so just that carbon neutral company wide isn't an apples to apples comparison when comparing android to ios
@@brochard44 Well, for apple there is now a self repair program which makes it easier to repair phones, even though if you rent the tools from apple it would be so costly but ya, now software locking is no longer a problem
@@FlyINGpigOOO their repair program is basically useless. It's a complete pr stunt and for basically all the parts they sell getting it done at apple costs like 10-20$ more. And independent shops can't use them because the cost of the part is so much if they want to make a profit they have to charge more then apple would be a lot.
You can tell Arun is a big fan of MKBHD but I think that's what made this video kinda biased because you could see how Arun had different opinions on a few things but that would result in a tie, so every time that he might've disagreed it would be a tie. I agree with other comments, that you guys should have each had your score and then come up with a final rating or just leave those out for people to decide.
Arun is super biased and can turn discussions in iphone's favour. That's why even his positive remarks about Samsung 22Ultra were more of sarcasm. His argument never makes sense. Unlike MKBHD... he is neutral and explains the background and experience well before taking a call.
I feel like I'm probably in the minority on this one, but this collab feels more like an interview. Both of you are very talented creators, but this video is driven very heavily by opinion. That said, all the decisions seem to defer very heavily to Marques's opinion. Marques is making very valid observations, but those same observations are very heavily based in circumstance.
The issue I've always had with android vs apple is you can't compare them. One is a single phone, another is a wide selection of phones. Apple has a new phone released every year, and that's the one people talk about. Android has so many creators, let alone phone models released, it just isn't fair to either side. Comparing companies to Apple, though, that's way more fair.
Apple sucks the prevent software downgrades. They don't allow newer backups to be restored to older ios. They also only allowed signed in IPSWS to be installed, if not signed in you are stuck on a slow phone.
yeah also another thing is that android is a universal software. Its used on every other phone. IOS is just used for iphones so its gonna be more optimized. Its gonna have more support. this should have been google pixel against iphone. Hoping google makes a top spec flagship this year as google is the only company that can beat iphone in software
Some other categories I would've liked to hear about are Durability (how long it lasts, and physical durability of the phone), Repairs (cost of repair/ ease of repair), assesories/3rd party items for phone( earbuds, cases, ease of use of 3rd party items like off brand speakers/earbuds), connections/signal ( what gets better signal, better wifi connects, bluetooth connections, call connections. Even though your provider may differ hardware in connections can drastically change your options as well) ect...
As someone who has owned iPhones only for the past 10+ years, including the 14 Pro this year, I don't think that was a very critical comparison. I obviously think iPhones fit MY needs better, but the gap between iOS and Android phones isn't that drastic. Just different strokes... The actual objective difference is marginal and definitely not a "7.5 : 2.5" gap.
Well said. The choice between iOS and Android depends on the user preferences. What's absolutely true is that neither iOS nor Android could have become this good if there was no competition.
The numbers don’t really mean anything because they aren’t weighted to each persons interests/needs; everything is just one point. If people want to know what is better, they should watch the video and see what they actually say about each category, and weight each category depending on what they care about.
The fun part is, apple was given a 3/10 for repairablity and the forces it’s users to pay 60% of the cost of the product to repair basic parts that could have been easily fixed for fraction of the cost. The only reason it won the that category was because of its insane ability to market itself out of all its problems
Bruh every company charges u more if you go and fix the phone on their stores, a lot of ppl complain about this, then just go to a 3rd party service its that simple, where i live we dont have apple stores and go to 3rd parties for repairs, i never have problems + half the price duh.
IPhone is crap. The only people who find iPhone better are the ones who don't know how to get the most of their hardware rigs. IPhone just restricts everything and for doing so, it's better for simple people. If you like not fully utake advantage of your money, buy an iPhone. If you want to take full advantage of the hardware, utility, customs, etc. Android phones are hands down the beast.
Are things that Apple locks you in really worth calling "features"? I think Android should win this category, simply because it is much more flexible than Android and allows you to do a lot more things. For example: * changing many parts of the OS, like the launcher, keyboard, browser, lock screen * installing apps from outside the Play Store * full access to the file system * use it to do things you would traditionally do on a computer. You can do crazy things like coding, running all kinds of VMs and emulators. You can do all sorts of crazy automation with things like Tasker, like automatically opening the garage door when a message that contains a certain thing arrives. Android is more like "here's a set of tools that you can use to do whatever you want". iOS is more like "these are the things you're allowed to do and how you can do them".
I guess u missed their point Android does have way more features but It's (a lot of features ,small minority of enthusiaists) Vs (some special features, a large number of common users) When u compare like that the slim to none features of iPhone have more weight
my favourite thing with gaming on android is that you can do emulation. emulation lets you run so many more games that are really high quality than iphone mobile apps. i also love shooting RAW on android with other camera apps like footej camera 2, because as a photographer it is just better to shoot RAW.
Seriously, mobile games are utter trash, but modern phones are capable of playing some of the best games ever made. I just finished playing Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask on my phone using N64plus FZ, and they were amazing experiences! I also have been playing Morrowind on my phone on and off for a couple of years using the android version of OpenMW. Emulation has really been a game changer for me since I prefer playing games on my phone
It's interesting to hear that other people don't use the split screen feature on the Galaxy phones. I use it so often that when I tried to buy the iPhone 13 last year I had it for like a month and ended up returning it because I missed that so much. I didn't realize until then how important that was to me lol
You guys forgot about something in the Eco Consciousness section, Androids are super repairable but apple doesn't even allow you to change any parts of it device edit:(guy's im not saying android should win this one im just pointing out that they forgot to mention repairability which should be varying factor in eco consciousness )
And the lightning cable, lack of ports on the macbook for years...apple makes HUGE profits from the adapters that they sell, and all those adapters, are extra e-waste
Emulators are a huge thing for me, as well as the S pen. I love being able to play Wii, DS, N64, whatever all just on my phone. I also like custom APKs if i ever wanna grab something that isnt on the app store. Apple is more secure, but Android is way more open.
I don't think Apple is more secure either to be honest. Just the perception they want you to have. So many lockscreen bypasses and stuff over the years as well as other huge security concerns on iOS
I used to be an Android user, and I think the S-pen is pretty useless, and more of a gimmick (I’m not an artist, so I never used it. But I’m not speaking for everyone) I also never trust APKs, since I got a virus from the last one I downloaded. So I’m personally fine with the fact that Apple is more closed and strict. But I will admit that I miss being able to play emulators and being able to download launchers to completely change the look of my phone. So overall, it’s more of personal preference on which phone is better.
@@gdspace5592 That's purely anecdotal. On the other hand I've never gotten a virus and even if I did antivirus can fix that issue. Why not have the option? Apple doesn't give you a choice whilst android does. You don't have to do it if you don't want to on Android but you have the option. Apple dictates to you how they want you to use "your" phone.
Love both of your guys but really felt this video was biased a bit too much on Apple's side of things - - a lot of Apple features that they said people can't live without are limited too US - outside of that, even iPhone users have/use a lot of other options - usb-c charging, plethora of phone options, UI features, right to repair and repair costs, GOOGLE PHOTOS - so many options and factors that you could have made this video on! Comparing the average of Android against the strengths of iPhone 13 Pro Max would ultimately result in such a lopsided score :/
the most important thing why people love iPhones is the ecosystem and it’s not limited to US and I personally just can’t imagine living without it.. it’s also the one and only reason why I prefer iPhone over other phones
the apple features are not really only limited to the us. i live in the eu and pretty much only use imessage to talk to my friends (excluding apps like instagram because its a social media app). but its true that i dont really play games or do that sort of things on my phone just mainly communicating and maybe scrolling through apps like ig or youtube. to each its own though
isn t it unfair to take the flagships into consideration only under eco consciousness ? because marques compared the pixel with the iphone during photography...the problem he said with pixel doesn t happen on samsung...and also talking about battery isn t it better when you have 8+ hour battery life and yet charges faster than apple?
so true lol and the worse is that they didn't gave a point even for battery with the samsung ( samsung with always use last long 28 hours and iphone 15 pro max is 3hours )
Exactly, even his photography debate didn't talk about the actual photo quality but instead about some rare random bug where it didn't take a photo when he clicked suddenly. This doesn't happen to most people but because of that he gave apple more points? Instead of talking about the actual photo quality he's mentioning about some ui bug. That's beyond biased and went into stupidity right there.
Having used both android and apple pver many years, I must say I was surprised at the scoring on this. I had a 13 pro max and now use an S22 Ultra, and I don't miss IOS one little bit. I am on holiday at the moment and my partner has an iphone 13, she has had loads of issues, some to do with her network, but my s22 ultra is the phone we use for photos, streaming, basically everything. the only thing that works better on her iphone is the TUI app!! Iphone do what they can do (which is limited) very well, but as soon as you try and leave the track apple has laid for you to follow, you find you can't. The performance is great on an iphone, but there are so many little things that annoy me I don't think i could go back. Like you can't on an iphone without scrolling to the top... I can also use whatever computer I want now, whatever headphones, whatever smart watch. If you buy into the IOS ecosystem then to gain the full benefits you have to go full Apple, which is fine if you like that walled garden, but if you want to have some variety, then not so much. I am disappointed in the bias in this video, I don't think the scores are accurate at all for real world use cases.
I wholeheartedly agree. When out with groups.. the phones who's photos end up with the most shares are from My Note 20 Ultra or My friends S 22 because even just taking a group photo can happen with voice, S-pen remote, hand gestures, timers, volume rocker and the like. - Options make Samsung (Android) more usable.. hands down.
"android has a slight advantage" - ok let's call this a tie then "seems like they are pretty even in this category" - ok apple gets the point! "several android models do it better, but some don't". = point for apple!
Apple still remains the winner after these comments, but it isn't _that_ drastic of a win. My opinion is that Apple has the edge, but doesn't blow Android out of the water.
@@paulstelian97 the point isn't about who's the winner its about how comparision was done. It was like marquess being on apple side, arun being refree and no one on android's side.
Funny how they were complaining about the big notch and now every youtube tech reviewer is crazy about the dynamic island which takes more space than the earlier notch and blocks more content.
Because the notch serves no purpose except to block. Dynamic island does things. And it’s cool. That’s my personal opinion, I myself have no big problems with notches.
I have owned a lot of phones; I used to love HTC, then I found Apple but then I dived back into Android on occasion. I currently have S22 Ultra and the iPhone 13 Pro. I love a lot of things about the Samsung... but I would give the edge to the iPhone as more intuitive and more user friendly for the average phone/camera/streaming person. That said, I think the marking should have been a lot closer than how it was done here, personally. The S22 Ultra is a beast of a phone.

I was an avid iPhone user for years, and was very happy for the most part. I gave Android a chance when Samsung released a new phone a few years back, and never realized what I was missing out on. One topic that was not really discussed here, that is very important to me now, is the how much better Android plays with 3rd party hardware. Watches, Smart TV's, Speakers, etc... There is a world of great technology out there that Apple just doesn't want you to be able to take full advantage of. And, this is always a hot topic as well... But, Android Auto with Google assistant is just unmatched in my opinion. I'm not a fanboy of either platform by any means, and am actually making this comment from an Apple computer. However, these small things are very important to me, especially my smart watch. Great comparison otherwise though. Cheers.
Android is okish but for me only really Samsung would be an option and being in Europe, I won't let them scam me with their sub-par Exyshit processors. So as long as this is a thing, I will buy Apple (where Europeans are not treated like 2nd class customers). Maybe if there is a day where we get the real processors for the same price (without import and stuff), I may consider giving Samsung another shot.
@@yia01 nope it is Samsung. The Exynos is cheaper because it is their own. One of the reasons they use Snapdragon for the US is because they dont have the patents (or rights) for the modem or something, so they cant use Exynos…

I feel like even if Arun disagreed with MKBHD they would still give the category in MKBHD's favour Arun himself said he preferred Androids photography over the iPhones same as batter because of fast charging in my opinion such categories should have been a draw or should have been more debated upon
One more such category I found was the one where they talked about Android's tons of features vs apple's exclusive few, like the ecosystem, airdrop etc and still gave the point to Apple. Whereas one thing they ignored is that it only works when both the devices you have are made by Apple. If you have a windows PC, things are going to suck bad with an iPhone, whereas Androids can be simply used exactly like flash drives with a USB cable which is ARGUABLY better than airdrop, because that way you can actually manage the data better on phone as well as on PC. Not to mention you do get features like Nearby Share which works fine.

The dual-app feature on Android is something I personally use all the time, and would immediately miss if I were to switch to iPhone (too few Android users know about it and use it imo). Floating windows is something I also use a lot, where you can have an app window that is essentially floating on top of everything else and can be minimised (you can open up a lot more than just 2 windows as well) it's actually a very cool feature you've probably never seen before, look it up even if you're an iPhone user, it's quite interesting lol. Such "power features" and things like file system access, is why I prefer Android. So in the end it's always up to the specific user and their needs, which is what determines which platform is "better".
Same for me, and in my country, a very small amount of people use facetime/iMessage/airDrop. But I agree with the guys that the iPhone is a much better phone for an average user.
MKBHD talking like an Apple rep for the whole video... "here's a positive point for Android, BUT here's how you can view it negatively, AND Apple can do XYZ so..."

I have never used an iphone in my life for the sheer reason that I can't afford it but I don't bark on an I phone user every time they tell me how their phone is better than mine.Infact I agree with them. I phone CREATED the smartphone industry, android is just figuring it out till today & while android may bring variety, experiment & customization in the industry the apple ecosystem being superior in every way is undeniable. They even make movies on the mac, not on windows. Says a lot.
@@apetogetherstrong4243 I disagree. I don't think one is better than the other. Depends on your use case. If you use your phone as just a phone, with some web browsing occasionaly, a $100 android phone is the best. If you're looking for a good allrounder for around $400, you can go for a iPhone se if you want good software support, a pixel 5a for a good camera or any Xiaomi phone if you want it to be ok at everything, but not exceptional at anything. Value for money is an excuse, the question was never was "which is the best phone for you" . It was "which is the best phone overall" . The best phone for me is the 250$ xaomi android I'm using right now that is a year old. But if someone's gonna ask me what is the best phone in the world since the first phone was ever released I'd not say android or blackberry. Android users & I phone users have formed cults in the tech community where the i phone users feel the urge to brag about their superior tech coz they can afford it & the android users have to come up with different categories, customizations to tear I phone down. The i phone as a piece of tech doesn't have any feelings. It won't feel validated if I say it's the best or the worst in the world. But it's the objective/undeniable truth that it is superior since it's first release by steve jobs & as a 250$ android user I don't hesitate to say so. The reason that it's treated more as a status symbol than a world class tech is the reason it has become a tough pill to swallow for android users. So what if I can't afford it, it's still the best. What's next...are we gonna say that a toyota is better than a mclaren coz it is cheap & has better mileage
I would generally chose android as I am quite used to overall having the time to use the throughout my day, and it is very efficient and convenient for me as my daily driver. However I do also love Apple products as well, so innovative and nice looking designs . Although I am not taking any sides but I slightly do to have a preference of using my Samsung S22 Ultra
Same, I've always used android but there's just something to Apple, the aesthetic and how it looks and feels. Sometimes android feels janky with how many features it has but you always know that every feature on an Iphone has been optimized very well.
AND YOU CAN SEE THE BATTERY PERCENTAGE FROM THE SCREEN (which is one of the things I miss about android after switching from a hand-me-down Samsung Note 9 to a hand-me-down IPhone XS Max)
I use split screen feature a lot as well on my S21 Ultra. And I found out that I actually really enjoy using the pen from my Remarkable tablet (which turns out to work just like an S-pen). It's really useful for drawing instructions on screenshots and for fine-tuning video editing on the phone. And the USB-C is what I feel all phones should switch to. But most of all I'm used to my Android phone - I loved LG while they existed and bought only their phones before. Switched to Samsung now and I'm also very happy. No reason for me to go over to iOS for the time being. And I grew up and don't care if the other person is an iOS user. We can transfer files now between phones, after all :))
Them 2 are not power users...they test phones but they are not power users. They use spotify, power user use FLAC. Also when earthquake happens and you stuck without internet for couple of days it's no use of cloud etc. 😁
You missed they point they try to make. Power users are a neash group of people like 10% of smartphone users. More than 70% don't even know what split screen multitasking is, and the 20% who know barely use it.
I think the reason that Android lost a fair few categories is that it is not about one single manufacturer. Some features are defining ones for some manufacturers like Motorola's Chop Chop for flashlight and Samsung's Dex and even Xiaomi's ridiculous community support. This is the beauty and weakness of Android. That fact that Android is little imperfect, it encourages you to make your own contribution towards it without caring about getting sued or anything. Android has a more playful aesthetic and is built for nerds like me but iOS has a few constraints. I love the fact that rooting is so easy on Android and you can use apps like GCam Port.
Having many manufacturers should be an advantage in this case. They should be able to take the best of android and beat iPhone but even with all these manufacturers they don’t outright beat apple.
my boyfriends Motorola has this thing where he shakes it to turn on the flashlight. When I saw that I almost bought a new phone. That's the beauty of android, you can get the best phone that works for you as an individual.
@@obviousgreyman sadly having many manufacturers is also Android's biggest weakness. Every company has their direction, some just wants to push out value for money phones, with terrible software support or many corners cut, which makes people think Android is unpolished, some companies want to polish their hardware and software but charge a lot more, people think that they are overpriced and terrible value for money. That's why they don't outright beat Apple. But I think the best thing about Android imo, is that you pick a phone that you like, but is imperfect, then add small touches here and there to make it yours
@@_zaverus The counter argument is that Apple doesn't innovate anymore, they just cherry pick the most popular features that other manufacturers were willing to take a risk on. Yes it's good to perfect existing technology but it's kind of garbage that they sit back and sell stale tech at a premium because they maintain a close source environment.
This video is proof that even tech enthusiasts like MKBHD and Arun can have favorite regardless of the actuality of that product. For me everything that Apple does for them Android does for me . Even their Ecosystem.
The end result of this REALLY surprised me. I expected Android to have a better perception.. Personally and objectively, if you're talking about getting the most function for your money, Android is where it's at. From a purely technical standpoint Android is frankly, way more versatile and advanced and I'm being honest. At 12:15 (the section about software features), I felt like Android was SERIOUSLY under represented. I could get technical, but I won't. Most people would underplay something like Samsung Dex, until Apple does it (most recently with its variant called Stage Manager) and then something that matters to no one "suddenly" matters to everyone.. There is a real "Halo" effect around iOS that has existed since the inception of the iPhone. That's not to say that the acclaim Apple's iOS have been getting is not warranted. I have always appreciated iOS's polish and simplicity. The end user experience is what sells to the most people and I get that (its probably why Apple obfuscates app crashes, choosing not to alert the user unlike on Android). Keep it slick, keep it simple. Its a good approach (especially for making money). But I have always liked the dynamism of the Android environment and their willingness to experiment with new ideas since day one.. And that experimentation is what pushes the software industry forward (and Apple often capitalizes on those very ideas).. And I get that software updates are a big deal (and they are) but Apple's walled garden and vertically integrated approach to software and hardware makes software updates a MUCH simpler thing pull off but at the expense of versatility (since its not actually needed).. Android was built to be versatile. There are way too many variables (including mobile chipsets and hardware manufacturers) on the Android side that (because it was built to be portable) makes it definitively more versatile but at the expense of ease of optimization.. Google's own update cycle is great for Android as an operating system but difficult for manufacturers to keep up with, which will result in a higher overall cost per update.. Stuff like that simply doesn't exist on Apple's side.. Both approaches to software design have their advantages.. But for me at the end of the day and despite tablet or desktop class apps being under represented on Android (which is no fault of the operating system itself), I'm more of a function over form kind of a guy... And when it comes to the most value for your money (because remember, not everyone has that), it's Android all the way.. In fact even if money isn't an issue, it would still be Android all the way.. I kid you not, I can ACTUALLY do more functionally with a 3 year old Samsung S10 on the cheap, than I can probably do with the latest iPhone and that's not even an exaggeration.. Where Apple is clearly ahead is in its silicon (mobile chipsets).. If Android devices had the same calibur of silicon, this really wouldn't be a discussion for me.. Objectively. But I do also get the fact that not everyone is technically inclined.. I know this sounds cynical but here is the way I see it. For the technically inclined.. If you're broke, buy an Android for certain.. If you've got the money, uhh.. Buy an Android (but secretly hate the fact that Apple silicon is so good while hoping that Qualcomm or some other chipset manufacturer creates a technical miracle).. If you're NOT technically inclined.. Well.. Buy an Apple device. It has everything you need and nothing you don't.. But be prepared to pay for it.. And if you can't, there is always an Android device waiting for you..
Tbh bro i here you but, Android can be cheaper, but it has a lot bloatware, I rather pay more for an iPhone then but a cheap Android and iPhone are not even that expensive. The average buyer doesn’t even touch a 1k. I always have more issues with people coming in and complaining about something on Android at work. Yes for ppl we are into stuff like you yes, buy one all the way but remember most people like it simple. And iPhone offers that.
"I could get technical, but I won't." And that's why it's not important. You have to "get technical" about it, where the typical user doesn't want to get technical or watch a RUclips tutorial to figure out how to use something on their phone.
While I agree with much of the assessment given here, I really do feel they avoided iPhone weaknesses when they were discussing hardware such as still using the lightening port, zero options for a headphone jack and general lack of innovation compared to android options (folding phones are already common with Android). I'm just surprised that they wouldn't even bring these topics up. I don't think either is a fanboy, just seemed to avoid areas that would work against apple.
@@syncroh2310 thank you because I don’t know how is that innovation. It’s going back to the past and making what was in the past better. I don’t and will not buy a folded or flip phone. I disagree with your point as they mentioned in the video it’s based on preferences, and not having something on one and not and the other doesn’t make it a flaw.
Folding phones are gimmicks and the headphone jack not being there is just normal at this point, most people who own iphones also use wireless earbuds too.
Felt pretty biased towards Marquez's niche preferences. I've realised over the years of watching tech channels that Marquez has certain preferences and specific things he thinks are non-negotiable (his photo preference for iPhone processing when it's very subjective, the need to use the camera right in the IG app when you can easily take one natively and post it in the app after, the software hiccups in android that honestly are nowhere near as big a deal as he makes them, etc etc) that really aren't as important to I'd say majority of the tech community. Love his content but I don't fully agree with how objective these subjective ideas are made to seem.
He is becoming more and more biased towards Apple every tech video he makes. Have u watched his waveform podcast. That show should be called the apple podcast at this point. 80% of it is dedicated to apple products. Then 10% is dedicated to EV vehicles and tesla. And only the remaining 10% is spent talking about all other non apple products. I get it. Maybe apple sponsor him. But its Super biased and getting boring
imagine being conditioned to take camera in native app and then post to ig instead of expecting them to just work properly. my standard is high and i want the software to works for ME, not i work around with the software. and still, you're admitting that it is inferior experience compare to iphone
@@novadon4729 i don’t know i kind of understand him. I was all about android before going to my first iphone and i never switched back. But I’m no tech reviewer by all means, so your point still stands as well.
I just recently switched from my iPhone to an Android and I have to say that the freedom I have with an Android is exactly what I was missing with the iPhone.
Like what freedoms do you mean? Personally I don't feel like I customize my android phone too much, and iPhones always intrigue me, so I'm curious what you mean.
@@RonaldOlszewski i can download games which are illegal in my country, can't do that on Apple , also constant resistence from apple when i try to download a song
You also have to take into consideration when it comes to "eco conscience" users, repairability. IPhone, especially more recent ones, have terrible scores and have software locked parts, and are generally just a lot more overpriced and expensive, and massively more complicated compared to most if not all androids, with the likes of Samsung recently partnering with ifixit to launch a self repair campaign. Carbon neutral and recycled materials mean nothing if the company pushes new devices rather than repairing broken ones/damaged ones.
True, plus, if you take the industry as a whole, Apple did a LOT more bad things about environment than Android makers. Who popularized non-swappable batteries? Who popularized the removal of the headphone jack alongside with wireless earbuds that uses a lot more materials and very time limited due to their small, non-replaceable batteries? Who is starting to popularize the lack of charging brick in the box? Who is (I bet) going to popularize the absence of ANY port in favor of energy inneficient wireless charging? Apple, every time. To be clear, the manufacturers who follows are assholes as well, I don't think any company is more ethical than an other, but Apple simply is the one and only which enable them all to do that.
Apple have launched its self repair service so you can buy genuine parts and repair yourself, and just because YOU as a regular person can't repair your phone, why does it make the phone less environment friendly? Apple stores can still repair them
this is a secretly sponsored video to boost the sales of the upcoming iphone 14 lineup, dont be fooled or blinded, i know these guys are the best trusted tech reviewers of this age and this is the reason why iphone chose them for this. This one felt really weird to watch. It almost felt Apple sponsored. Because even in the cases where Android was the clear winner, MKBHD would stretch really far for iphone. I'm not necessarily team Android or iPhone. I think iPhones a better business phone and Android is better for leisure. But none of that seemed to factor into anything. The numbers didn't even Factor into anything
Yeah after the first part already (the screen) I knew it was going to be bs. A draw? When Apple's display is what you can find in 300 € Android phones? It has a lower resolution than most Android phones, the response time is slightly worse, and the touch sampling rate (what MKHD or whatever he is called talked about) is 240 Hz... compared to 1000 Hz on some Android phones. What a joke of a video.
Come ooon guys, you really went a bit rough on Android there.. I've been using Android for almost the last 9 years until I eventually decided in last year’s September to get the iconic iPhone 13, and am not regretting my decision to be honest ( well, maybe not much) but I still really miss lots of things that Android has such as missing what freedom really feels like. Dude, the ability of using any 3rd party device like watches, TV's etc.. so perfectly & full-features as well as the ability of charging anything using only one cable (usb-c) and the fact that apple lacks these stuff cannot be just ignored, like seriously you cannot act like naaaah it’s not a big deal. Also the split screen feature man.. I really miss this it was a huge thing for my daily use, the ability of multitasking was a game changer for me and mark my words, when apple does it people will go crazy about it! And yeah one last thing, the fact that I cannot go past 5 days in the call log to search for calls in MY phone that uses MY account which holds My info still makes me sick till this day.. I know that apple did it on purpose due to privacy stuff and props to them for giving privacy an important role in their approach, but every time I go to my call log looking for a number then I remember that I can’t do this on ios I go wondering what in the flarking hell they smoke in apple 😅. Still a great phone though, I am really pleased with my Iphone 13, it’s a great phone after all, but as I said you went a bit rough on Android guys though I really enjoyed this collab a lot! Keep up the good 👍
watches and TVs.. ok maybe its not the case to buy Apple TV even though im pretty sure the iPhone connects to any smart TV, but watches?? if you have an iPhone you dont even have to think about any other smartwatches than Apple Watch. The moment you have 2 pieces in Apple's ecosystem you will see what is Apple really about: the perfect compatibility.
It blows mymind that they say they don't use the Samsung multi-tasking features cos I personally find the little notification bubbles that pop up and open a little window without you leaving what you're doing indispensable. I love that I can quickly reply a message while seeing the messages screen without leaving what I'm doing. It's great.
Really?! I've never used a Samsung before but this multi-tasking feature intrigues me. I'm a huge fan of the way Windows allowed for excellent window management so if I can find something similar in Samsung, I'm a fan of Samsung for life lol.
You can do that on iPhone too. Your comment is why the two biggest reviewers (who have used both iOS and android ) have decided iPhone is the best device, and not you.
I enjoyed the video but overall, felt this was wrong, let me explain. You could compare ios to android (which versions?) Or you could compare apple to Samsung, Sony etc. (Brand) but this lop sided comparison was only ever going to land in one direction due to taking the strengths from one and the weaknesses from many. Not disputing some of the arguments, but I also think, spending more time with a phone results in learning the nuances and best settings, I agree iPhone makes it easy through its consistency, but that results in less time and patience with other brands to learn how they work best. Ultimately, its all opinion, and was an interesting watch/concept.

Apple claims to be more eco-friendly, but reparability is a real factor there. You can repair most Andriod phones more easily and cheaper than any IOS device. The longer update support and recycled materials are also an important factor though. Would have been good to see reparability as a separate topic perhaps, just to emphasize that you can actually fix your phones and don't need to toss them as soon as a single component breaks down (or pay someone else to repair it).
That's actually true. Because an apple gadget repair/replacement costs a new device same unit or latest model. While the android, battery replacement or screen repairs are a whole lot cheaper. As much I do love apple, I enjoy using android due to its easy to repair than apple.
@@ajthefujoshi ur actually dead wrong just stop taking ur device to apple to have it repaired, u can get screen replacement for like 80$ at any mom and pop shop
Also about eco-friendliness: buying a used iPhone is way better than buying a used Android because of how fast Androids lose support/get discontinued/stop getting updates, and because of how fast they become slow compared to the newest ones
There were many other android usability points that weren't mentioned like the USB-C, open source, how reliable the average flagship is and other stuff and again tho I love these two reviewers bt I fell that both were leaning towards the apple side of things from the start like
USB C, ultra fast charging, the fact that Apple just came out with a 120hz screen (pro and pro max versions only) while android has 144 and 165hz on the Asus ROG for instance.
@ShaneStanley109 fact, both of these guys has Apple everything, ain't shit android except them showing it in this video lol Like you really expect me to believe these guys like android when they're some of the top phone reviews on RUclips over 5mill subs & they gonna act like iPhone wasn't their choice base off battery life & BRAND
Well, I thought MKBHD reviewed phones for everyone. But what he said was his personal bias because he is a hardcore Apple supporter. Plus, no one mentioned Pixels. Yes Apple can stand out a lot sometimes. But there is a clear bias in MKBHD's POV. No one went into the options for reparability, costs and all. I don't know how to put it. But even though Apple is doing the best they can, most of the innovations are happening in the Android gadget space. For everyone here, let me get this out there. Getting/ Switching to an android is like getting a chilled out room mate. Getting/ Switching to an Apple is like getting a high maintenance partner.
I would agree. There was definitely bias in several aspects of what they said. There are also tons of videos out there showing how even the new iPhone motion and action capturing isn't even close to the likes of Samsung and Pixel. Samsung has had some of the best low light cameras for years now and they mentioned Pixel instead. That was kind of all I needed to hear. I didn't even make it through half the video and had to stop. Don't know who either of these guys are but it was clear on their bias in multiple things.
Being able to install/sell my own apps without registering them in an App Store. That's a huge win for android, and a deal breaker for me buying an iphone. Also, using bluetooth to send/receive files. That's a big win for android. What I like most of iphones is the integration with Macs and ipads.
They gave a point to apple for battery. This is where they lost credibility. There's no way IPhone has better battery than Samsung. I use Note10 Plus and this is a quite an old phone, but battery life is just fire whereas my friends sell their iPhones as soon as their battery life is around 86%.
I haven't finished watching the video at all but this is almost a Marques interview but the issue with that is he's an Apple fan. So he'd just prefer it more. He tries to be as unbiased as he can but you can't disagree he is still biased.
yeah i felt like they mentioned how so many android phones do X better but then just gave the point to iphone after anyway... it was often so close that it should've just been a tie lol
@@heybagley bro so why don’t u say he is biased cuz he has an Samsung phone, you gotta understand that the Apple watch is way better than the Samsung one
It really boils down to personal choice. I don't see myself ever switching to Apple because of those little features that Android lets me do, but is a struggle to do with iPhone. Android is more like Windows, it feels like it lets you interact with everything, and instead Apple feels like it restricts you to Apple.
Exaclty perfectly said, lets not even metion mac and windows they dotn even compare, but i also hate ios for doing similar things, if i could get android on an iphoen and everything worked well i might think about it, then decide NO i rather not be scammed by apples ridiculous prices here in Ireland especially.
Another plus for android is you can connect your android phone to any pc and access your files instantly. Also in this video it sucks that points for android doesn't count because "not alot of people are using the feature"
Apple's ability to control their environment really gives them control over first party software. But the fact that it exists only between Apple devices is not a huge plus in my opinion. It's great that FaceTime and iMessage is good, but when someone tries to contact me, they can't use them because I use android. These features seem to only be good for people who surround themselves with others that also only use apple products which it's hard to call it a definitive win.
Of course it’s a valid argument If not a-lot of people are using said feature, it isn’t a good feature. Otherwise everyone would be using it. Which is why everyone uses FaceTime and iMessage
@@TescoRoadman usage of a feature cannot determine if a feature is good or not...... if I alone am using a feature and it's working well and making life a little easier, it's a good feature. Exactly, and they counted eco friendly because they know apple is doing it, but what about wireless charging in android NFC and brilliant sesors in android
Though I envy some of the iphone features and Apple's ecosystem fluidity, I think I'll always be an Android guy for more freedom. To be able to work with lots of other systems, being heterogenous, is a positive side in itself. Anyway, many consider software update support as die hard crucial. I'd say old hardware is old. My old phone from 2016 is still working after 6 years, with worn, discontinued battery, still smooth getting through menus but gets slower with newer and newer apps updates.
There's nothing to envy... They just have enough important widgets and o Os factors that make it inferior to Samsung like no file manager. My note 20 ultra is basically a computer in my hands
Freedom? don't you mean choice? An android phone on average sends data back to google every 4.5min which is then used to understand who you are. You're kept inside your own feedback loop. Android is hardly heterogenous, you have to use android/google services and through a browser in most cases, which you can also do with Apple and iCloud. You're just in a different echo system with perceived freedom, because there is a larger choice of hardware.
@@ChetTailor I think by freedom he doesn't mean that his data are not collected. He means that you can do literally what you want with an Android phone. You can customize it as much as you want. You are not limited by how Google or the constructor wants you to use the phone
So I've been a long time watcher and like many others, this didn't seems like a proper comparision. Key points to note the question was always what does iPhone have that Android doesn't but not much the other way around. The words that praised iPhone were highlighted using graphics but not for Android even for the cases it won Many times when both had valid points the iPhone still got the point Look i value Arun's honesty and i know he's unbiased but this video felt off, I was expecting iphone to win bcus it is in general an overall good phone but this basically showed that Android has nothing going for it No mention of repairability , app backward compatibility or hardware innovations (like folding screens or thermals) Hope Arun sees this i really want to know, was this set up to be appealing to iPhone users on purpose?
iphone is pro. and android is cute if you want ads all over and just a shoddy experience. even check android tv compared to apple tv. apple wins by a million points on that one. new android tv vs a 6 year old apple tv too.

I just switched to iPhone 13 Pro Max. There are things that I really miss like the convenience of answering a message while still continuing watching a video on RUclips on the other half of the screen, and also the ability the copy files directly to a usb drive.
you cant copy to a USB drive? maybe thats an ipad only feature. if you have a mac you could paste it right where you needed it without using intermediate media though.
Same. Having to stop my RUclips podcasts to do anything else in the phone really sucks lol. I also miss the plus button not being available when I put my apps in folders. It takes so much longer to press down each app and drag into folders. Also another weird one I found you can’t delete multiple contacts at once on the iPhone. The magic to iPhone is in the ecosystem for sure.
The decision is simple- if you’re a content creator, shooting a lot of videos and photos, choose Apple. On the other hand, if you’re someone who has a lot of document related work/ file management work, choose Android (Samsung’s notes app is great).
Document related work on a phone your kidding right? You're not going to write an application letter over a telephone, are you? Or if you are going to write a word document, you don't do it on a phone but on a desktop or laptop lol..

i feel comparing iphones to "android" is a flawed comparison on its face. Because "Android" is a whole ecosystem, comparing "most androids" while excluding the androids that have best features to iphone completely misses the point of android. You want a phone that has the best camera? androids got one for you. You want a phone with a phenomenal battery, androids got you. Thats the whole point of android.

My primary reasons for choosing Android is there are more lower price options available with great hardware options, and the ability to customize is better on the android. My next reason is the very reason why many choose apple over android and that is apple is over secure. In the hands of the right user android is secure enough where as apple builds their products on the premise that all their users are novices and that is putting it politely.
They've bragged about it being usable for babies before. Since Android is so customizable, you can make custom ROMs that are way more secure than iOS if you want to but you'd give up a lot of convenience.

As someone who has both. I prefer my android due to how much more freedom I have on it. Extra features are completely locked unless it's on the appstore or have access to a testflight group. As someone who also develops apps for both phones, iOS is such a pain to develop for and requires a mac for xcode, while android can freely be developed by any computer OS. The only advantage that affects me with an iphone, is it's true depth camera. Allowing pretty good facial motion capture for prototyping and small projects. Also apple really need to get rid of their cables and go for usb C.

The problem with going with an average when talking abt iPhones and androids is that it inherently becomes unfair as you're taking the top of the line from the iPhone sicne that's all they offer, but averaging down on Android because we're starting at the top and increasing the sample size by going down. This means that no matter what category you go for it will always be averaged out to the iPhone since that has a far smaller sample size. What you guys should've done was take a few key android phones maybe 5 of them, and compare the iPhone to the average of those 5 specifically. This would've made for a far more fair comparison as we don't need to lessen the credit to android by going through all the cheap and failed phones or the extreme phones.
Not really, Iphones are cheaper than droid flagships now. In my country 13pm is $2000, S22U is $2200 and the oppo find x3 pro used to be 1600 but the new one X5 pro is $2000, so they are all the same price, but iphone is remarkably better. Its not 2012 anymore when iphones were expensive and droids were cheap. Their sample size was HUGE. have you seen how many phones pass through these boy's youtube channels?
The MKBHD video a few months ago was actually atleast fine. Better. This video is the first time I felt both of them were just completely biased! Paid or something, I don't know, was very funny to watch... And I know time has evolved now compared to when this was made but even if we go back in time, this video is not upto the mark... What I think (which no one cares and no one should) is... Display: iPhone vs... Sony? Samsung? Oppo? Vivo? Xiaomi? Asus? Is there a comparison really? For anything, 4 of these are market leaders and all these are better for "Smoothness" or "Sharpness" and a few other stuff... Like no real match. Performance: Yes. iPhone. Also Redmagic and ROG mainly for winning this category over, but still, vs All Android, and not taking niche market shares of both of these, iPhone wins. Battery: Again. Only few like Sony or Asus beat it and maybe even Moto at times, and they are not Major players. So all in all IPhone takes the win. Camera: Google, Xiaomi, Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, Sony, yes yes, can you say iPhone wins? No. These 6 offer all the tastes needed, iPhone not worthy here except for the reliability because of that photo disappearing thing in Pixel he mentioned... That happened with me as well, but that's fixed now. But if we talk about past, a point. For now, not a point. Video- Zenfone stabilizes better than iPhone for me, so... And Samsung caught up as well, but past, iPhone would win. Eco-Concious: Fairphone. Nokia. Ya. He did mention still took the point. And anyway, many others are doing now as well... Reliability: Tie. Ya. Tie. Apple seems more reliable to me, but sometimes I just feel like, Apple fakes things out. And gets us in trouble, very buggy and unreliable, sometimes it feels like "just if I had an android right now", long story, not today. It is just like straight lying to us and android tells the truth no matter how dark. So Tie afterall somehow. Featutes: Android. And no one cares about Airdrop and IMessage and FaceTime here, it depends on the country and very selected countries need to have an iPhone, rest, without compitition, Android wins. Assistant: Google. Siri doesn't know languages and messes up most of the times, not even a need to explain how better Google is here. Support: Google promised 7 years now... So that is there and Fairphone already offers too much. Still iPhone being iPhone, I guess a Tie. Price: Sure shot Android, I just can't believe iPhone SE exists in 2024, it feels and works like something from 2015 or something. Just trash. Wierd how he still praised it.

One could argue that Apple's poor repairability contributes more to e-waste than Androids. Surprised that didn't get a mention.

Agree

It’s just a hard Feild to play in since android as a system is pretty much made for phone companies to adopt and tinker with while iOS is behind the gilded cage of iPhone.
Nope, they’re comparing iPhone running on iOS VS hundreds of Android “phones”, not just comparing the operating systems
Marque's thinking is just unmatched sometimes. You feel "oh this is a new way of thinking". Very good video.

Shifting the comparison around to make one side more favorable is clear bias regardless of what side it's done for.
because there are too many android phones
if we use your logic. then android wins in so many records. lol. basically, iPhone would be the most stable and yet... not the best when compared to the plethora of pillar or flagship strengths of each android phone.
I own both (android and apple), when it comes to freedom android is the winner. One don't have to be limited to apple's "we know what's best for you". My take to this is-
In US the best phone is iOS just because everyone uses it. So that's why MKBHD's opinion was more based on that.
However outside US markets, Android has the main market. So it's not a minority in many of the categories.
interesting take!
It coz not many people can afford iphones but that's doesn't mean they are holding s22 ultras and oneplues or even Samsung A series no they are mostly getting xaiomi phones which are best in price to performance compare to every other android brands but anyone who could afford to buy at iphones prices I bet you 95% of the time they pick Iphones over xaiomi or Samsung 1000$phone that gonna become obsolete in 2 year both support and performance lag
its because androids are cheaper
Android is trash, how come a cellphone can get viruses and pop alerts 🤮🗑
This needs to be pinned, I don't know how they could "forget" that from the most anti right to repair company
Funniest part is that many independent repairers report the the iphones are actually easier and less costly to repair
No one talked about social status. iPhone should get at least two points for that
The issue I've always had with android vs apple is you can't compare them. One is a single phone, another is a wide selection of phones. Apple has a new phone released every year, and that's the one people talk about. Android has so many creators, let alone phone models released, it just isn't fair to either side. Comparing companies to Apple, though, that's way more fair.
Agreed, iPhone vs Samsung would be a more fair comparison. Android is too broad and includes a lot of niche players and a lot of cheap junk.
Apple sucks the prevent software downgrades. They don't allow newer backups to be restored to older ios. They also only allowed signed in IPSWS to be installed, if not signed in you are stuck on a slow phone.
Agreed, iPhone vs Pixel would be a more fair comparison.
karma to apple for not letting other companies use their system ?
yeah also another thing is that android is a universal software.

Absolutely.. right
The numbers don’t really mean anything because they aren’t weighted to each persons interests/needs; everything is just one point.

The only reason it won the that category was because of its insane ability to market itself out of all its problems
i dont see anything fun here
Bruh every company charges u more if you go and fix the phone on their stores, a lot of ppl complain about this, then just go to a 3rd party service its that simple, where i live we dont have apple stores and go to 3rd parties for repairs, i never have problems + half the price duh.
Apple marketing is literally insane
IPhone is crap. The only people who find iPhone better are the ones who don't know how to get the most of their hardware rigs. IPhone just restricts everything and for doing so, it's better for simple people. If you like not fully utake advantage of your money, buy an iPhone. If you want to take full advantage of the hardware, utility, customs, etc. Android phones are hands down the beast.
Where was Apple given 3/10?
Are things that Apple locks you in really worth calling "features"? I think Android should win this category, simply because it is much more flexible than Android and allows you to do a lot more things. For example:
* changing many parts of the OS, like the launcher, keyboard, browser, lock screen
* installing apps from outside the Play Store
* full access to the file system
* use it to do things you would traditionally do on a computer.
I totally agree

Great point, I'm an app developer for both ios & Android. I always prefer Android SDK features, which gives you more control as a developer.
I guess u missed their point

my favourite thing with gaming on android is that you can do emulation. emulation lets you run so many more games that are really high quality than iphone mobile apps. i also love shooting RAW on android with other camera apps like footej camera 2, because as a photographer it is just better to shoot RAW.

So overall, it’s more of personal preference on which phone is better.
@@gdspace5592 That's purely anecdotal. On the other hand I've never gotten a virus and even if I did antivirus can fix that issue. Why not have the option?
@@HarshitRautela this video was great but was too concentrated on personal preference if it was more practical it should have been a draw or android should have won

But apple IS better tho.
So you can't really say one is better than the other.
@@dirksplithof3174 the thing is if you have 6 goldchains in your neck & you stand in the middle of the street & scream what phone should I get, you will not get the reply of "get a 1500$ android" It will be "get a 700$ iphone".

Just remember this..when you buy an iphone its not yours..
Why?
Why?
True. It’s mine.
Bro u nailed it ,pple in Nigeria here hype iPhone like madd ,I don't know what there iPhone can do my android can't do
The end result of this REALLY surprised me.
Nah these fake reviewers are not even going to look at your point.
Man wrote a whole novel
Tbh bro i here you but, Android can be cheaper, but it has a lot bloatware, I rather pay more for an iPhone then but a cheap Android and iPhone are not even that expensive. Yes for ppl we are into stuff like you yes, buy one all the way but remember most people like it simple. And iPhone offers that.
"I could get technical, but I won't."

Carbon neutral and recycled materials mean nothing if the company pushes new devices rather than repairing broken ones/damaged ones.

They gave a point to apple for battery. This is where they lost credibility. There's no way IPhone has better battery than Samsung. I use Note10 Plus and this is a quite an old phone, but battery life is just fire whereas my friends sell their iPhones as soon as their battery life is around 86%.
Samsung clearly have the best display, MKBHD was too biased and let him have the display and photography even though he disagreed.

Yes. Not a wise argument.
Of course it’s a valid argument
If not a-lot of people are using said feature, it isn’t a good feature. Otherwise everyone would be using it. Which is why everyone uses FaceTime and iMessage
@@TescoRoadman usage of a feature cannot determine if a feature is good or not...... if I alone am using a feature and it's working well and making life a little easier, it's a good feature.
They just have enough important widgets and o
Os factors that make it inferior to Samsung like no file manager.
You're just in a different echo system with perceived freedom, because there is a larger choice of hardware.
im sure you can install a custom rom to still get security updates.
@@ChetTailor I think by freedom he doesn't mean that his data are not collected. He means that you can do literally what you want with an Android phone. You can customize it as much as you want. You are not limited by how Google or the constructor wants you to use the phone

My primary reasons for choosing Android is there are more lower price options available with great hardware options, and the ability to customize is better on the android. In the hands of the right user android is secure enough where as apple builds their products on the premise that all their users are novices and that is putting it politely.

Display:
iPhone vs... Sony? Samsung? Oppo? Vivo? Xiaomi? Asus? Is there a comparison really? For anything, 4 of these are market leaders and all these are better for "Smoothness" or "Sharpness" and a few other stuff... Like no real match.
Performance:
Yes. iPhone. Also Redmagic and ROG mainly for winning this category over, but still, vs All Android, and not taking niche market shares of both of these, iPhone wins.
Battery:
Again. Only few like Sony or Asus beat it and maybe even Moto at times, and they are not Major players. So all in all IPhone takes the win.
Camera:
Google, Xiaomi, Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, Sony, yes yes, can you say iPhone wins?
Eco-Concious:
Fairphone. Nokia. Ya. He did mention still took the point. And anyway, many others are doing now as well...
Reliability:
Tie. Ya.
Featutes:
Android. And no one cares about Airdrop and IMessage and FaceTime here, it depends on the country and very selected countries need to have an iPhone, rest, without compitition, Android wins.
Assistant:
Google. Siri doesn't know languages and messes up most of the times, not even a need to explain how better Google is here.
Support:
Google promised 7 years now... So that is there and Fairphone already offers too much. Still iPhone being iPhone, I guess a Tie.
Price:
Sure shot Android, I just can't believe iPhone SE exists in 2024, it feels and works like something from 2015 or something. Just trash. Wierd how he still praised it.
