I’m kinda the same, except my school has this thing called rewind which has our center tenor do a solo, that he is garbage at, and a good amount of people call for it at our football games, so it’s kinda like jig 2

Never done I&E, but when I was in middle-school I'd do all kinds of state and county solo performances, so here's a list of stuff I was entirely guilty of: 1: The Guy Who Didn't Know You Needed To Provide Your Own Snare Drum 2: The Guy Who Lost 1 Of 2 Marimba Mallets Right Before He Performed 3: The Guy Who's Private Teacher Was Probably Also A Judge
There was one year where someone in my line was "the guy that didn't show up." The funniest thing was that he came back to see his girlfriend in the same competition.
I'm just gonna put this out there. In the RUclips Universe... A Comedian USMC Drummer guy as far as I can tell is 100% original and funny as hell. Glad I'm watching these!!!
The storyteller almost perfectly explained an a experience I had on the way to UIL. Luckily, it was the one time they actually had charter buses take us there instead of school buses.
The percussion area on my band is so lit. Especially when they do their groove in our school fight song it just- THEYRE THE ONLY SECTION THAT ME AND THE OTHER FLUTES SMILE AT
I remember I & E back in the late 70's and early 80's. The participant walked to the staging area, turned around and warmed up and then faced front awaiting the judge's signal to start. No talking. There was no need for introductions or explanations. Uniforms were worn so you knew where they marched. Names were on a sheet given to the judges and you had to start by breaking down the long roll followed by your solo. Man how things have changed. And there were reps from every corps and not one or two from a couple of top 12 corps and a few from class "B" corps. It was truly a contest and not like today where it seems as if the event is an exhibition. Not to take away anything from the guys and girls who actually put in the time, but it's just not as competitive as it once was.
you forgot “plays the cadence too slow because there’s no snare to lead them because they don’t know how to lead themself” could also go with the metronome one tho
This video is how I discovered this channel, and I don't think I could have asked for a better video to introduce me to it! It's incredible how distinct every single one of his personas are... Edit: I don't play in drumline, but I like to think that I'd probably be #9. I love me a good groove.
I love watching you because you make these videos hilarious while simultaneously being so good. I don’t know how you do it. Props to you and keep up the good work👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I ended up playing my 2016 DCA I&E tenor solo "Libido Popsicle" for my university's percussion concert last year. Little did I know a bunch of K-8 children came to watch and my introduction was definitely a little too pg13. The middle school teachers were staring daggers 🤣 Ya live ya learn.
Eric have you ever seen or heard of a band from Kyoto, Japan Called Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Band? A Marching Dance Band and Orchestra. They perform all over the world and 2018 marched and performed 5 1/2 miles in the Tournament Of Roses Pasadena Ca. With a flute player with a Prosthetic leg doing a lot of dance moves. They were and are very different and inspiring as a Marching dance band.

For the "Forgets sticks" solo, you forgot the part where he drives to get his sticks then gets hit by a truck at an intersection.
DR Hall hehe i get that reference
It's obviously because he wasn't driving the right tempo
DR Hall I thought it was cause the binder disappeared not sticks
