    Looking forward to seeing what the quick sear looks like and how it performs. I recently installed a Galloway stainless striker guide on a CW9 along with a Wolff reduced power spring. They work great. I also removed the magazine disconnect safety from a new P380-CA, but immediately began to experience weird behavior where the trigger bar does not always engage the cocking cam (aka, Sear) and so it does’t fire sometimes. My guess is that the angle on the trigger bar must be adjusted to compensate for the newly created space on the sear pivot pin after removing the mag disconnect that was riding on the sear pivot pin. I didn’t know how to remove the pivot pin, and so I forced the polymer frame to stretch in order to slip the mag safety piece. I think this caused undue stress, but the frame is still intact. I would appreciate any suggestion from Galloway on dealing with the occasional loss of trigger reset causing failure to fire.

      Yeah unfortunately in those models you have to leave the mag disconnect for the exact reason you say.

    Can you say when this sear will be available. I see a few months back you said a few weeks so wondering if we are getting close. Looked on your site and see the trigger but not the sear.
    I have a Kahr CM40 (think internals are the same) and i absolutely hate the trigger. So much that if i cant get the pull shortened by quite a bit its gonna be sold. Seeing this gives me hope that i may not have to sell. Thanks for the great products.

    Will you guys be doing this for the kahr 45 models as well?

    • @GallowayPrecision
      @GallowayPrecision  4 года назад +2

      Yes, but we are dumping the sear and going to a trigger bar setup instead so we can cover all generations. Working with Kahr now to get a .380 and .45 new production pistol to start the trigger bars for them.

  • @royd7984

    Is your intention to make this a permanent change for all Kahr pistols or will it only be a mod available to order from Galloway Precision? Looks like a winner to me.

      Well we aren't Kahr, so it's something only we sell.

      We mill the Kahr pistols for the Shield Sight RMS series and the JPoint. They are the only optics that fit the slide correctly and allow us to mill deep enough to co witness the stock irons. Email me at tech@gallowayprecision.com for the full details.

    The Kahr could have been designed more simply to have a seven pound single-action trigger, and then the movement would have been shorter still, but wouldn't it then need a manual thumb-safety (or at least a front-strap safety like on the H&K P7)? I thought the whole point of having a long, double-action trigger was to make the manual safety unnecessary.
    The Kahr trigger is already shorter and lighter than a revolver's double-action trigger (the standard of comparison), even easier than that of a revolver well-tuned for competition that can bust only soft primers.
    But you're bringing it yet closer to the feel of a seven-pound single-action trigger with smooth creep. Is this for competition?

    • @GallowayPrecision
      @GallowayPrecision  Год назад

      The system is a DA like a revolver yes. The new trigger removes the excess slop after break that is already there just empty travel stock. The flat face is staged different and is in general a little more forgiving of the finger placement for pull. Makes the trigger pull easier is the purpose of the trigger.
