My First Double Salchow on Inline Skates!!

  • It's probably a little early for me to be attempting doubles when my single salchow isn't perfect, but my form is improving daily on my salchows. I got eager and wanted to start on doubles. I think that if I can get this landing down, it will help a lot with my single axel too. I am going to take a break from loop jumps. Something about them doesn't seem right, maybe they aren't suitable on my frames, but it's proving extremely difficult for me to learn them without hurting my jumping leg.
    I'm going to continue to learn new jumps and perfect the ones I have down everyday. Expect great things!

    Very good jump!! As a figure skater I’ll tell you that you’ll probably get a carrot on that jump! A carrot means that it’ll count just - GOE. My piece of advice for double sal, ofc on ice is diff than inline skates, but my advice for on ice if u wanna do it there you gotta wait on your entrance a bit. When you do it try and keep your right arm upwards. Sometimes when jump with your arm scooping down you’ll reach the ice with that arm. Something I do with doubles is I hold my hands together. I land with holding my hands and it helps with me not falling.

    • @SolidSkates
      @SolidSkates  3 месяца назад

      Thank you for the advice! I’m gonna try holding my hands, do you mean holding my hands sort of making a hoop with my arms?

    • @yannah81851
      @yannah81851 3 месяца назад +1

      @@SolidSkates When you hold ur hands hold them as they’re tucked onto your chest like you are in your title image. Sometimes people will make fists and put them side by side, in the middle of their chest. What helps me a lot since im prone to just put my hands down is holding them together and pressing them up to my chest until my foot hits the ice and then I put my arms straight out.

    you are an amazing skater mate! I just bought my inline skates 3 days ago and the only problem I got is how to do the T-stop..... I got good at controlling my speed and everything else!

    • @SolidSkates
      @SolidSkates  3 месяца назад

      @@rubytroublemaker thank you! When you are t stopping does it start to turn your whole body? That was my friends issue when trying to learn it, and he fixed it by moving around his dragging foot. He was also putting most of the pressure on the front wheel instead of evenly distributed.

      just one more question...
      Did you ever break or fracture your bone while roller

      @@rubytroublemaker oh no!! I’m so sorry that’s horrible. I hope you heal quicker than the 6 weeks.
      I haven’t had any serious injuries through skating, but I’ve broken a few bones playing sports growing up. Now I do a ton of stretching and knee/ankle strengthening exercises to try and prevent injuries as much as possible.

    • @SolidSkates
      @SolidSkates  9 дней назад +1

      Honestly I haven’t tried many different skates either, but any skate that is made for Slalom is going to have a lot of boot control, and the rocker on the frame will give a much better figure skating blade feel because the skate will turn much easier. Love to hear more people trying jumps on in-line skates! Let me know how it goes
