@@820hurleyj I got a T7 FM trans blue just like the one in the video in stock at Sweetwater last month. Then a week later I scored a demo S7 vintage that's virtually mint condition (one ding on the underside of the neck joint I need a flashlight to even find) from them at $100 off.
They are out there, you just have to keep looking and checking different sellers. They do sell faster than Sire can build them, that's always been true.

The Sire T7, in my opinion, is better outfitted for your money than a Squier will be. It has modern tapered neck joint for easier access to the higher frets and the frets themselves have been better dressed. All the T7s that have come through the shop lately have had satin finished necks. If I had to pick a weakness for Sire it would be that their pickups are not the greatest and their QC has shown to be hit or miss. That said the playability of their necks are consistent, and their locking tuners are very good in my experience. I would not hesitate to purchase one as a mod platform. I would change the bridge out for a Wilkinson or something like that and then give it an Iron Gear pickup makeover. I would most likely use a single and a hotrail for the standard style T7 and for the FMT model a Dirty Torque in the bridge and a Blues Engine in the neck. For the FMT I would also change the 5way out for a Freeway 5+5 and run a set of stacked 500k pots giving individual tone and volume controls to each pickup and run a Kinman treble bleed circuit on each volume pot. That FMT has tons of potential.
I have zero experience with FGN so I cannot say whether it would be better than the Sire. However, given it is crafted in Japan, I would gave to find a way to give one a rip because IMO the best Fender branded guitar for your money right now is without a doubt the Fender Japan Aerodyne series. The HSS Aerodyne is going for 999.99 USD right now and plays better and sounds better than a $1200 MIM Player Plus in the same configuration.
I have always liked Japanese made guitars and have a 1996 Vista series Jagmaster that has been my daily driver since new in 96. It was Japanese made and everyone who has played it has remarked on how effortless the neck is to navigate. It is getting an electronics overhaul and some under the hood wizardry to breath new life into its voice. I played a china made reissue a couple years back and was disgusted by how inferior it was to mine. The humbuckers were weak, the neck was terrible with sharp fret ends and the shape seemed more retro Jazzmaster than modern rocker like mine with much smaller fret wire as well. I think the best Tele that I have played recently was a Ritchie Kotzen model from Japan, it is a super slick setup with phenomenal pickups and a very unique control arrangement. If you are looking for an already built badass of a Tele the RK made in Japan is my vote, but it is going to set you back over 1k.

Thank you for the detailed comment. Do you have any thoughts on putting Suhr pickups the T7-FM? I think they stock ones are medium to low output right? So it gives your tone room to breathe instead of high gain stuff. If I'm right & you think Suhr pups are a good option, what Suhr pickups would you suggest?
      Thank you. 🙏🏼

Fender fan here. I have to say what Fender are doing these days dosent excite me anymore when news breaks that they are bringing out some new guitars. I automatically think how much are these going to cost or more like how much are we going to get robbed. The big brands aren't giving you value for money. I get more excited by brands like like Sire and even Harley benton as you are getting a amazing bang for your buck, a lot of value for money and better quality, especially on the neck, a lot more time and care gets spent on the guitars giving you a more enjoyable playing experience. What Sire are doing for £500 fender would probably charge you £2000 for and Gibson £3000. Its like the big brands are being arrogant, its a fender/Gibson they will pay it. Living off there history and dont get me wrong its an amazing proud history with the most iconic players. The difference between a player series strat and pro 2 is £1000 pound but heres the thing you can spend £550 on a player series, £220 on a Fender American loaded pickguard, £40 for fender American tuners, £80 for an American trem, £8 on a bone nut and pay a luthier £100 to install it all and give your guitar a full set up thats £998 spent on a strat and it will have the same hardware, electronics and your choice of American pups and the same set up as an american pro 2 and leave you with £602 change. If you bought everything 2nd hand off of ebay you could do it all for £700-£800 leaving you £900-£800 change. You may not have the word American on your guitar but that actually dosent matter. I'd be more inclined now to do a strat build/upgrade, that way you could pick your guitar colour, what pickguard colour, colour of nobs and pickup surround colour, style of tuners, have your choice of pickups. That to me is a better choice than paying for a pro 2. If i only had £600 I'd go for a sire over a player series if i was a guitar newbie. If i knew now what i didnt back then about guitars i most definitely wouldn't have spent the small fortune i have on fenders 😔
Defo going to acquire a Sire though!

It’s what I would call slightly chunky. I had a Squier and I hated it, the neck was so thin it was painful. And not keen on the thin tall frets. The Fgn is silky smooth almost like plain sanded wood and ultra comfortable especially with the compound fretboard. I even like the Shijie TLV Classic telecasters more than the Fender "Pro II" and "Vintage II" which cost twice as much. Problem is you have to roll the dice and buy one new, because very few ever hit the used market, and they aren't stocked by dealers so you can try them first. Suffice to say it will be one of the best guitar purchases you ever made, and if you don't like it - I'll buy it from you for a small discount........?
