    In this video I will demonstrate the Sire T7 and ask "Why Can't Fender Make This Tele?" The Sire T7 comes in at $641 and is loaded with great features like a roasted maple neck, locking tuners and compensated brass saddles.

    Hej Corey, I'm 80 years old, I live off my rather small pension so I bought a T3 Larry Carlton Tele instead of a T7 . No roasted neck, no locking tuners but what a Terrific guitar. I 've got some of your courses from True fire and watch you on RUclips sometimes. You seem like a good guy, have a great day.

    Corey, - as I look and listen to the numerous videos on guitar/bass reviews, I can tell U that the instruments that sound good and decent are played by superior musicians like yourself. I just got thru listening to a similarly talented colleague of yours comparing the cheapest Tele right up to a relic'd Custom Shop model. And they all sounded good! I've been playing and gigging for over 50 years and to me, it always be the player that "makes" the instrument. And U know what? I can guarantee U that if any guitar or bass is decently and properly set up, the audience won't care or know what it was made of and by who. That being said, your presentation was well done and I appreciate the gesture towards your dad. Best of luck in all your future endeavors.

    The Fender Player Plus is an amazing Telecaster: locking tuners, rolled fret edges, push'/pull switch to play both pickups in series, raised string tree. The bridge plate isn't ash tray and the bridge is flat, not the brass compensated which is great is you like to sweep pick. I've seen people say it's the Mexican version of an American Ultra - Fender's "modern" takw on their guitar - and with noiseless pickups as well, I'd have to agre.

      Yeah I'd agree. The Tele is great and exactly as you say, like a Mexican Ultra. I have the Player Plus Strat as well and it's a nice guitar. Having said that... Player Plus is even more expensive than just the Player, so competes even worse with the Sire S7 and T7 in my opinion.

    For the past few years anything I’ve purchased has been in the “grand-ish or less” category. So far nothing has been a disappointment. (Open case deal on a Bonamassa SG from GC, copped a DGT SE off reverb and most recently, and by far the cheapest, a Squire Paranormal Nashville strat. They all needed some truss rod and intonation tweaking, which of course is normal but, I wouldn’t hesitate to take any of them to gig. ) Also, the stress compared to say hauling a vintage piece or some high dollar R8 out to a bar is WAY less.
    As always, great playing and solid data Corey! Thanks.

    • @Robstafarian
      @Robstafarian 9 месяцев назад +1

      We have the SE DGT and the Nashville Strat in common; though the SE DGT's pickup wiring does not support wiring mods (because each pickup's shield is not separate from its ground and there is only a tap wire for three total wires per pickup), the Nashville Strat is a great candidate for a Free Way 5B5-01 ten-position blade switch. I plan to install one along with rewiring its push-pull pot to switch position six's function (switching from Scheme No. B002 to Scheme No. B004) for eight additional tonal options; of course, the neck pickup's cover will need to be wired separately from its ground if it is not wired that way stock.

    After watching this, I did what suffices as due-diligence on the T7. All signs were good. Narrowed down my color choice and checked SW... not available. Talked to my SE, estimated August before getting them in. Checked Sire's site, found one I liked and ordered it. Received it last Friday and no disappointment noted. It was even in tune when I got it!

    Got this exact guitar from Thomann for about $500 + shipping. Absolutely phenomenal value. Plays like a dream, no setup required. I've got smaller hands, so the rolled edges were a big selling point. The neck profile is extremely comfortable. The pickups sound fantastic, but I'm more into blues and rock. Stays in tune forever. And, yeah, looks sexy AF.

  • @wesboundmusic
    @wesboundmusic 9 месяцев назад +3

    It's simply a joy to watch you play and listen to! Regardless, what "axe" you pick up, they sound good in your hands and through those amps you play.. Amazing to see how snappy that little modelling thing responded to the Tele. and not muddy its typical twang. That speaks highly of its engineers in that they must've focussed on impulse response, especially with that very convincing break up that had zero shred of "sterility" to it. Maybe do a video dedicated to that little box, too?
    And great going from the Sweetwater people. It helped to mitigate some of the far less positive experiences other customers report about them. Thanks a bunch!

    Hey bRos, i have a Sire LC S7 in flamed maple blue lacquer n let me tell ya! it is the best guitar i have played thru in 3 decades
    i have way more expensive guitars such as Ibanez Prestige Sabre, but this one has all the tones i ever dreamed of ...not looking anymore to other guitars so far 🤓to fix out the glossy maple fretboard (that i was not happy with at first) i stepped in sanding with 000 steelwool + a special polishing pad ...now it's now a true 💎 it was a good decision 🎖(i was a bit afraid) i have also upgraded the tuners for the same type of locking tuners but in Black Chrome from Gotoh + the Trem with a Gotoh Wilkinson licensed one in Honed Black (looks more modern n classy) ...the guitar has so much improved n looks 🔥💣🔥 i have setup as well a treble bleed with a very particular Caps value that gives me a very stylish tone when slightly rolled back, N last but not least, i have installed a 3 strings retainer (nickel finish) on the head (from StewMac) n upgraded both Tone Caps with Cornell/Dubier polyfilm ones, in 0.33µNf for Neck PU to get a less dark tone with a lil' more top-end & 0.47µNf on the bridge PU (same that stock one) i have also apply some amazing Carnauba wax on the back of the neck n a lil' bit on the back n top to enhance the color n the overall feeling ........it's a dream i feel like i get a +3/4K$ guitar from Suhr 🤩 N i got for this beauty a yellow/brown Tweed finish hardcase for Strat all this for ~840 bucks //// to me the best part of this guitar is the raosted maple neck that has a shape that feels unique under the fingers + a very resonant tone

      I don't think it does. While I perfer the ASAT over a tele (at least in the neck position) it doesn't quite sound like a tele at all. The Sire has that "tele" sound. The ASAT sounds like it's own thing. A lot more bite, a like more spank, and the hum on it is the loudest of any guitar I've ever played. But even with that hum it's the best guitar I've ever owned and I've owned about 20ish. I don't even recall how many I've played over the years.

    Theres some really good mid priced T style guitars around nowadays. I hemmed and hawed for over a year before settling on my first LTD. Payed $889 for an '87 Eclipse NT in pearl white.
    When the TE1000 Black Blast hit the market, I was primed to get my first classic construction tele. Now I'm spoiled and rarely even look at other T styled objects. Did some mods to them like the aforementioned treble bleed curcuits, and upgraded the pots and tone caps. Certainly not your fathers Tele's. Mine are more metal machines with options.

    I bought one a year ago, it's a great guitar for the price, the only problem is that the nut is too high, you need to work or change it.

    I'm not a pro, snd I already have enough guitars, like, maybe 9. I don't have room for more. But one in, one or two out, that's my philosophy. Sire S3 is on my list, the most affordable of the Sire guitars. I prefer the SSS setup.

    I think I’d have to de-gloss that fretboard, but it’s a good looking, great sounding guitar.
