I wouldn't be surprised if like 3 of them didn't do a Cypher or freestyle (Cochise, SoFaygo and KayCyy)

If there's one person that got "left off" the list that would have been on there under better circumstances, it's Kay Flock. He definitely had shit turned up and if he wasn't locked up, he would have been a surefire pick.

Saucy Santana has been in the music industry for a couple of years now. He’s one of Yung Miami’s writers. That’s why all his music give city girl vibes.

nah faygo is extremely versatile and has been doing this for years fr. ofc only listening to his most popular songs would give u a different kind of take than a person who has listened to nearly his entire discography tho

So funny story bout Big30. First time I ever heard him was on Juicy J and Wiz Khalifa’s joint project together. On the song Weak, Big30 is featured, but when the album first came out, it showed no features. I got so hype hearing it, like “goddamn, Pooh is going crazy” and then I looked up to see what he was saying and saw Big30 and was like “why do I need one if I got the other” 💀

I think the reason people are confused with Saucy Santana being on the list is because the type of music he makes and where he’s been buzzing recently isn’t really with the “hip-hop community”. Most people on ig and stuff act like he’s whack, while I feel that lot of people outside of the space are the ones who are rocking with his music
I respect that you say a disclaimer at the start saying you only listened to a few songs from these artists, because that REALLY goes to show on the cochise & mostly sofaygo section.

Great video as usual, a few notes on my end:
- Kali & KenTheMan kinda fall in the Erica Banks category. Not compelling musically and will ultimately be chasing hit songs their whole career.
- Babyface Ray has songs that fit his style better (Dancing With The Devil with Pusha T and Landstrip Chip is one example). We shall see if he utilizes that advantage or will he continue to be placed on beats that don't fit him at all.
- Saucy Santana is a question mark to me, I like his ambition, but it seems that he will be a guilty pleasure kind of artist. Maybe lean more into hitmaking if more people start to vibe with the campaign (which is still up in the air)
- Doechii has good upside, she is diverse and passes the 3-syllable rhyme test to me (I'll explain when I get to Tron). I know Amiri was joking, but these big companies do be needing those JCpenny/OldNavy types of music lmao
- Cochise and Sofaygo will have parallel talent. Very Production heavy and lack much lyricism. Sofaygo will more than likely have a more fruitful career because of his ties with CactusJack Records. The production really has to be behind these guys, but if it does (Like the feature SoFaygo did on Don Toliver's Smoke), they can rock shows their whole career.
- Nardo Wick is a prime example of less is more. The cosigns from 21, Herbo, Durk, Future, and Baby already stamped him. The production on his last project went crazy. He just has to stay out of trouble and he'll have a fruitful career. He says enough clever things in his raps that just make him tolerable.
- KayCyy could become a feature machine if he gets the battery in his back to be great. He seems too aloof for his talent. Gotta want it.
- Big 30 and Big Scarr are respected in the south but that's about it. They fit in my theory of Memphis is the best music marketing city in the country. They really get behind their artists and it'll have you believe that everyone from there is the next big thing (After Gotti and Dolph, the only ones that have proven valid are MoneyBagg, Key Glock, and maybe NLE Choppa). XXL could have easily put Big Yavo from Alabama on this list who actually raps instead. The low ceiling for these guys.
- I actually just check out Babytron's music with this video and he's dope. Definitely can see why he was voted in. He has the highest upside to me. 3+ syllable bars in rap lend credence to being sustainable in rap music. You can't "cat" and "hat" or "cricket" and "ticket" your way forever unless you are truly a unique rapper (Waka Flocka, Jeezy, Juicy J, Too Short etc). Everybody can rhyme 1-2 syllables, 3+ while making sense, and having clever bars is what good lyricists do.
Long winded af lol, but overall we shall see who does what.

Yeah bro I can't lie I do agree that Sofaygo and Cochise do have some similarities when it comes to one another like the beat selections and adlibs, even though they my two favorites they do have something alike.
They have pretty noticeable differences though. Sofaygo is much more a singer than Cochise and I also think he’s a little more versatile. Cochise is literally a Carti clone and all his music has pretty similar vibes (which I enjoy). Sofaygo has a few more flows and types of songs

Kaycyy is going to blow soon. He is a Kanye protege and was featured on Donda and has other writing credits for Kanye. Dude is insanely talented he just needs to find his style. Also Okay is definitely in the experimental lane kinda like Yeezus or someone like Jpegmafia so I personally loved it but it makes sense if you don’t. Kaycyy def deserves a discog dive because his music has a ton of variety and it doesn’t all sound the same which makes it interesting to listen to.

I'm weak w/ the female rappers part lol Doechii definitely gives me "Lack identity" vibes bc she comes off as taking someone elses style and trying to make it like she's versatile but in fact it comes off as biting. IDK lol the songs I've heard from her do seem like diff variants of another well known female rapper so maybe one day she will get her self of identity and what her persona will be.
