I feel like Tron could have came WAYYYY harder but the fact that he coulda came way harder but still had top 3 freestyles speaks volumes about my guy

I never heard of Tron. He is been a little overhyped. Going in he was the only one I had high exceptions for. He did very well but (this is a compliment) I felt he has much more in his gas tank and didn’t give a 100 percent with this particular performance. His look, talent and subject matter is there IMO!!!

I appreciate the confidence that Faygo had to come up with lyrics on the spot, but his freestyle featured pretty much every issue with going that route, and really makes you understand the time and effort that goes into making the most clever lyrics. Also, crediting artists for being woman in general is kind of unfair and can make it harder for the artist to improve.
You know, one severely under appreciated thing I love about this whole video that I feel like I'll be the only person to appreciate it is that I love how you had Iggy Azalea's Treasure Island instrumental playing in the background as well as mentioning that song when talking about Doechii's flow. Despite what ppl say about her, I love that song a lot.
That being said, dope video. ✌🏿

this is probably the most mid group of freestyles a freshman class has ever offered. for the most part i agree with your ranking but i’ll offer mine completely unprovoked bc i feel like it. this is all based on how much i liked it, not technicality
1.) cochise (anime bars aren’t bad)
2.) kaycyy (this nigga cheated but i liked it)
3.) big30 (didn’t expect to like this verse as much as i did)
4.) santana (it’s tunnel vision)
5.) babytron (highly overrated, boring delivery, but still fun)

I liked Doechii's freestyle. Maybe it's just the multiple flow and voice tone changes, but I thought it was pretty nice. I like how different it is from everybody elses this year.
@@AmiriHipHop Yeah, true. But I still think there are enough good things about her freestyle to make me like it. Her rhyming was solid and I liked how she did a higher pitch on some of the rhymes. It's enough to keep me captivated and that's what I find most important.

When Doechii screamed, it was instantly my least favorite freestyle
I definitely agree with Cochise being up, though I was personally a fan of Doechii and KayCyy. At this point to me, it feels kinda tired to criticize rappers for sounding like other rappers cause like... So many rappers out there, including the ones in this class sound derivative to an extent. I don't mind artists doing similar styles. I liked Doechiis lyrics and appreciated that she had a really fun energy to her. I'm personally kinda tired of rappers sounding like they're too cool to try.

1. Cochise (this is his lane, whoever gave him advice on how to make music previously needs to be fired, this freestyle is where his creative direction needs to go from now on)
2. Babytron (I never heard of him, was overhyped, the talent, look, skill are all there. He did very good, I feel he had much more in the tank and I’m excited to hear when he goes off. I will check out his catalog).
3. Kaycyyy (loved him on Kanye’s “Keep my spirit alive”. I love his originality. He is a good rapper but his voice is amazing. Instead of trying to be the next Kendrick Lamar, he should try to be the next Keith Sweat or Teddy Riley)
4. Kentheman (impressed, let’s be in the game for a little longer before we throw out “top 10” lines, that line alone kept you out of my top 3)
5. Saucy Santana (not my cup of tea, I have never seen a male rapper, dress and act like a female and put it in songs. Even if it’s not my cup of tea, it’s creative new and fresh and Saucy is the first of a kind. I see the next big music star in 2023 and 2024 right here)
6. Big 30 (he is not my cup of tea but I was entertained, unlike Saucy Santana, there were others like Pooh Shesity who have rapped like this, I got to dock him points for originality)
7. Kali (she is very beautiful and has great flows. It is hard to pay attention to what you are saying when I can see 3/4 of your boobs in that dress. She can wear what she wants but I can’t take you saying “you are not a side piece” seriously when you wear outfits like that. With that said, I see her being a mainstream star like Saucy Santana. If she would have had SoFaygo messages with her creativity and flow, the performance would have been much better)
8. Doechii (good flow and talent, but sounds too much like 2009 Nicki Minaj, if her voice and tone were different, much much higher on my list)
9. SoFaygo (worst flow of the group but his words and messages were positive and good but needs a little more creativity. If SoFayo has Kali’s flow, the performance would have been much better)
10. Big Scar (it was wise he didn’t go on long. No a bad performance at all. For rappers who live and talk the street life, be cautious what you put out. If dude gets arrested for a crime the courts could use messages in past music to lock him up. I don’t agree with what the system does at all but be mindful of what is put out)
11. Nardo Wick (Decent music, freestyle fell flat IMO)
12. Baby face Ray (not amongst the worst ever but I felt he almost fell asleep in the middle of his verse, this verse was boring)
More than half of these artists I have never heard before. I’m going by what I see mostly in this one performance.
If Cochise rapped like that he’d have a fraction of his success. He makes lit turn up music that will garner a ton of streams….him showing that he actually can rap just makes me understand that the sound he has now is extremely calculated.
@@Nocappucino97 IMO you’re not wrong. The style he typically has may not be original but it’s popular and trendy and if it makes him more money and gives him more recognition and views than showing his actual skill, then he should keep doing what he is going until it goes out of style.
If you liked Cochise’s freestyle, listen to his older songs like “My Year”, “Let Me Know”, “Letsgetit” and “Stars” to name a few. He can spit, it’s just that baby voice making the real money so I’m guessing he switched to that lol
