Nothing I hate more is when you say your favorite song by an artist is their most popular song or your favorite album is their most popular album then you're not a "real" fan
I dunno dude, because if an artist has a particular sound and happens to have a hit single by experimenting with a different sound or a collab (which is usually how "underground" rappers have big hits), then it kinda seems like you don't know or like that artist's usual output and don't really know them indepth to really know what they are about. Obviously you could also just like that song but in my experience it's rarely the case.

One thing I HATE is when people act like a popular song by an artist isn't as good as their lesser-known songs just because it's a "radio hit". I literally made a TikTok about how 6 Foot 7 Foot deserves more respect, and a couple of people in the comments were like, "Oh, it's not that great. It's a song made for the radio. Go listen to _____ from the mixtape ______." Or "Song _______ should have been a hit instead of 6'7". Just because it was on the radio doesn't mean that it's mid. I hate that mentality so much.
One of the things that annoys me about rap fans is when they gatekeep what a rap fan is,like you could have one dissenting opinion other than theirs',and they'll say shit like "you aren't a true rap fan",or some dumb shit like that. It's not up to them to decide if YOU like rap music or not.

Sometimes its also just the fans giving credit to a rapper for creating something, than when you display proof to thise fans they did not pooneer a style they do mental gymnastics to prove nothing.

I think another big problem with the whole top 5 conversation is nobody ever specifies what kind of top 5 they’re asking for. People will ask your top 5 but won’t say whether they wanna know your 5 favorite rappers, who you think the 5 greatest rappers are, the five rappers you think are technically the best at rapping, etc. Personally, I would have a totally different top 5 for all three of those questions.
