Disclaimer: Most of the weathering products I use in my videos such as Ammo by Mig Jimenez, AK-Interactive, Wilder and VMS were sent to me for free, but with no obligations to promote them. I received a lot of them a long time ago, even before I started this channel. VMS is also one of my Patreon supporters. Being independent from big and exclusive sponsorship deals and showing you a wide variety of different brands and products was one of the founding ideas of this channel and I will always stand by this.

Just realized that night shift made this video for himself in case he forgets where something is, he can just re-watch the video and find it easily.
genius idea night shift!
It wouldn't be the first time I went back to my older vids to check for something :)
Big Brain time
Great setup. Where's the area you break down in tears while trying to clean individual track links??
That's the shed out back
At least he doesn't need to make tracks from scratch
hey cleaning tracks is fun, I do that in my hidden pleasure room
@@NightShiftScaleModels I'm not here to kink shame.
Ummmm what kind of “pleasure room” you said?
"I didn't even know I had those..." The cry of every hobbyist. Thanks for the tour Uncle Night Shift, we'll see you in the next video.
That, and "Why do I have six of these??"
*varnish falls off*
Night Shift: (bird noises)
12:34
Indeed. Martin just chirped.
Uncle, thank you for inviting us into your home, much appreciated. If I could ask, maybe a tour of your display case? This could be used as a future short video to "fill a gap" while on a long break while your out biking!? Oh and thank you, I had imagined that you had no junk drawers...YOU ARE HUMAN!!
I'll show my entire collection in another video :)
The way it works: once you get rid of it, you will need it
+10 upvotes.
The story of my life🤣
Yep, that's the rule. ;)
always lol
From the standard of your work, I guess I expected a huge room full of magical, mysticaL stuff. Amazed and impressed to see such incredible work from a fairly tiny space. Love it! Thanks Uncle
Definitely felt encouraged seeing that it wasn't anything crazy.
7:12 that is perfect for realistic battle damage!
that's how we fix stuff here
i should do a workbench tour...
So we got our paintbrushes in a 7-11 Slurpee cup.
Paints in a small toolbox made in metal shop class.
panel liner, pigments, glue, thinners in a metal tin.
Knives and cutters, just lying around ready to misplaced.
Painting and building in a Cardboard box.
thank you for coming to my workbench tour
My modeling supply/tools storage is a 20x14inch plastic bin and a kids pencil box. My 'workbench' is the spare computer desk that used for lots of hobbies/tasks.

nice
is this a personal attack or somethin
"Quarantine haircut here"
Boy if that ain't a mood right there
I thought you were about to say the tan was from wearing rubber gloves lol
lol, and I've gotten it from those studio softboxes, right? :)
"Heavy Duty Paint Mixer" Brilliant!!! I had one of those and didn't even know it.
Organized enough to actually find what you're looking for in a snap, yet "chaotic" enough to see that it's actually being used.
Very nice, thank you.
right.. i spend 70% of my time looking for what I need to do whatever task i'm doing on model at that session. i need to organize..
Glad my modeling area isn't the only one that is essentially organized chaos. 😁
what is this organized you speak off i know not of this word lol
That "AH!" When the AK real color pot drops at 12:35 killed me lmao
GEEZ! No wonder your models are so good you literally have enough materials to make models from scratch on your desk! 😂👍🏻
Thanks for the tour! I've been learning a lot from your channel over the past year, and I really appreciate your good humor and attention to detail.
I like that "custom" paint shaker lol...pretty sweet idea....That whole distilled water vs regular old tap water to me depends on the water quality+ if you have one of those water softeners/purifiers installed in your place, for me distilled made no difference but others might have a massive different result..I just run my water through one of those Pur water filters for drinking to get the alkalines down (no hard water chalkyness when the water dries out) pus extra clean drinking water...2 birds 1 stone lol
Very true. I have a water softener and have to buy distilled water for thinning
Yeah I didn't notice any difference either because I have a carbon filter or something under my sink... but it was worth a try
Distilled water is great if you’re thinning or diluting paints or washes and then putting them into storage containers. Stops them going off. Also essential if you use a wet pallet - slows the growth of moss/fungus/gunk, since ordinary tap water is infested with all sorts of lifeforms.
Get me da Choppa !! HA!! I LOVE your paint mixer idea ! Brilliant.
Excellent! This definitely points me in the right direction when it comes to work space. Thanks, Uncle Nightshift!
Coolest thing "heavy duty paint mixer"!
I really like the tidiness you're able to keep. I wish I could keep my workbench in such an order, but I'm inspired now to get my modelling room looking more like yours.
As a lapsed model-maker it was so great to discover your other passion is MTB! Looking forward to the upcoming ‘Uncle Nightshift hits some big drops’ vid!
thanks for making my day a little bit better. 😊
Pretty nice work bench! Thanks for giving us opportunity to see it!
Sweet setup, love the paint rack! 🤙
I am glad I reached the heavy duty paint mixer part.
Got the debonder a few weeks ago. Great stuff, thanks for recommending it.
Awesome set Martin hope to see more videos like this keep up the excellent work
GOOD STUFF, THANKS FOR SHARING!
I love your vids there so relaxing and peaceful. Keep up the good work your videos helped me out a lot.👌🏾🎉
🤣🤣🤣Martin, you have the most hardcore paint mixer ever !
Awesome setup. I love your work and everything what u doing. Greetings from Czech republic 🇨🇿.
I would say the only thing to ad would be a well lit hobby paint booth. I made mine from heavy card board and computer fans intake and exhaust filters work well to keep airborne overspray manageable. Thanks for the very informative videos.
Great vid...love to see your workplace...Thank you .
Love the setup! Interesting that you two desks. One thing I am so happy I added to my desk is a hover! It's a small cheap one, maybe £20-30, with a foot start and the pipe goes up behind the desk.
Loving that paint mixer! :-D
AMAZING!!! So cool to see!!
Thank you very much for the workspace tour, great setup with two benches! Keep up the awesome work :)
Good idea for a paint mixer! I'll have to try it.
I wish I had half that stuff you said you don't use. LoL Thank you for showing us around the shop. Gave me some ideas for setting up my workbench. Especially with the paints, washes, textures and pigments. I made my own drawer system already.
Thank you , Uncle Martin
Lighters in the same wooden container as a bunch of super flammable glue. I like your style!
Wow. So clean!
fun tour. I have a small collection of vallejo model paints and it's about all that I use. I might pickup some Wilder stuff if they ever are back in stock.
Yes! I asked for this. Thank you. Mine looks 100 times worse
Great to see how much stuff you have that you don’t use. Got to say I’m jealous of the Wilder stuff. Can’t wait till they sell it again.
IM SO GLAD U POSTED I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS im busy with a grand slam bomber, from tamiya im done building just gonna paint tomorrow my fingers cramped after the wings but anyways keep uploading your doing great!
Love the video, reminds me of what I had before we moved.
This is a clip I’m waiting for! Cheers!
Awesome videos and modeling! As if that wasn't enough, finding out you're a mountain biker as well is even more awesomeness! Ride/model on, maaa friend!
Thanks for this - very interesting.
Tony
Nice Martin, I really enjoyed the tour!
The distilled water won't show an effect until a model has sat for quite a while. (years probably) the chemicals they add to your tap water would, over time, degrade the colors of the paint. It's a longevity hack more than anything. :) Thank you for the tour!
Oh yes. Completely forgot about the fluorides they put in tap water. I use distilled water for my wet pallet and for any paint mixtures I intend to store for more than a couple of days - tap water goes off within a weeks because of all the bugs and microbes in it.
Hey! great tour, loved it
The saw converted into a paint mixer is pretty clever i must say.👍
Best paint mixer I ve ever seen xD
Cool to see your work areas. All you really need are the basics, to produce great models.
This is true, not a lot of stuff and it doesnt need to be expensive. I use a chinee $25 airbrush, it works fine. Now if only kits and paint werent soo expensive.
You can buy these mesh covers for windows that you attach with magnets to a window. Really good and helps keep some of the bugs away.
I have them, but those bugs are so small they'll squeeze right through
fastest ive ever clicked on a video
The video i didnt know i needed
Hey Martin we have the same compressor ! I really enjoy the video thanks for sharing your space with us.
Half the world has the same compressor! I believe they’re all made in the same city in China.
Put lighters few centimeters away from glue. 🤔🤔
Sounds like a good idea!!😂😂
Just kidding, keep up the good work, watched all of your amazing videos✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻.
Dude seriously it’s just kinda cool to see what you look like. My family is from Prague. Cheers.
I JUST Purchased some of the "Aluminum Palettes" from Amazon and I can't WAIT to get them and start using them! :D
Very nice and clean set up there. LOL at your tan lines, several years ago I rode my motorcycle on a long trip and my gloves had round holes on the back and when I was done I had a kitty cat paw print on the back o f my hand.
Looks very interesting. Nice lighting kit. And rest of stuff also. ;)
yo martin, mad respect to you!
Wooow, I did not expect you to be q a mountainbiker.
Thats so cool because im a mountainbiker too and I also have tan lines.
I just got my first tank model because of you lol. Got a Tamyia M41 Walker Bulldog kit. We will see how it goes!
Great shop, be nice to see the rest of the room
Now we saw your workbench, we want to see your collection showroom!
Hi Martin real nice set up nice and tidy just like mine.thank you for sharing buddy. Cheers Gary from the 🇬🇧.
Maaaaaaaaaaan I'm jealous of your set up. I guess I know what one of my future projects will be.
If you want a good grab handle tool - Trumpy do a set of 6 crimpers for different handle sizes and thicknesses.Simply put some brass rod in the slot, crimp the tool together - like pressing a stapler, and you get instant perfectly bent handles for either surface mount [with feet] or drill-mount [with feet cut off].
Great vid! Amazing how much we have that we don't use.
I'm the same way with certain products, I have a bunch of it like the Mig's Pigments and washes but hardly ever use them. I often find their washes too thick. Also have a bunch of the Wilder Oil Paints but just can't seem to like them for some reason. When it comes to space, I use only the tools I need or use the most due to space. I have to share a workbench with my gaming PC stuff so...yeah. Maybe one day I can have a dedicated room for my armor stuff.
Máš to moc pěkně zařízené... Ta míchačka barev je super nápad 🙂
what we have all been waiting for
I was interested in seeing your workstation since i found your channel!
Great tour! I was curious how you shoot your videos because I really like your over the shoulder look. I built a rig that suspends from the back of my desk and shoots straight down which gives a nice top-down POV but it's not always best for showing off the final product so I have to remember to tilt the build so it can be seen. Thanks for the behind the scenes look. I feel a lot better about my "I don't use it anymore" stash. ;)
My wife has a custom paint shaker as well!😀 all do... i never see her near my bench late at night🤔
Excellent video, but please also take a tour of the showcase, we want to see all your works of art, thank you!!!.
Aaaaaa, great video my friend !!!
OMG! I made the same pant mixer! Just needed something better and figured that out.
your paintmixer is amazing
Would love see a video series of you making a new workbench!!
I'm so sad that you aren't modeling this week, but I'm so happy to chill with my boy Martin
Thank you very much. I no longer feel..alone..someone else out there...also has too much cool crap and wont let it go..might use it...
Yes finally !!!!
Plenty of space to build a warship on those benches.😉
I'll stop, I'm probably annoying you.
Or a 1/48 Ju-88 bomber...
*sounds of retching*
@@mirrorblue100 oh yeah.. i love the junkers.. I built one in my late teens and it's still a fav of mine. did a crashed dio in a desert setting. but i'd like to see nightshift do a ship or plane for sure.. especially with his eccentric style of building.
mirrorblue100 Or the nightfighter versions: G-1 and G-6
@@Entity282 That would be in order. I will be building the DML Ju-88G6 using a Quickboost FuG 240 resin nose replacement - hope to begin that project in September.
Nice video thanks.
*Messy and also organized and with the essential, well done NS! 👍*
Thanks for sharing
Blimey I thought I had a ton of stuff, but you certainly beat me .. good one 😎fred
My favourite uncle is back
Lol, the heavy duty paint shaker😂🤣😂
Absolutne super video 👍
Nice dojo you got there bro! Around the time you made that video, there was a shortage of TP here in the states. If the EU had a similar problem, I bet that TP was worth its weight in gold lol. Cheers!
I just came across your channel , & WOW at the detail you put into weathering . I can see why or how you would acquire all of the pigments & washes that you have on your shelves.
Which brings me to my question. What type of shelves do you have & are the home made or did you buy them , if so where did you get them?
Thank you for sharing your videos n plzzz keep up the great work
