Just an additional information on this tutorial. You must make sure you desarm the battery to avoid any damage on the memory or motherboard. There is a very small hole to do it. Check the hardware documentation to found out about this procedure.

i think samsung provided all the driver in their website. just go through it one by one. i did download them all for 64bit. but not yet have the time to installed. OR u can just make your life easier by creating the recovery CD image with your stock HDD (pre-install HDD). just press F4 at BIOS boot page while booting up. hope that help.
I just replaced the 500GB HDD of my GF's NP535U3C with a Samsung Evo 850 250GB using the Samsung Data Migration Software. Everything went flawless. The laptop did not even sense it got a surgery when I booted up with the SSD. Anyhow, I want to maximize also the RAM. It came from the factory with 2GB. I have an extra 2GB which I easily put on the empty RAM slot for a total now of 4GB. I also tried putting my extra 8GB RAM from my other laptop and it worked also for a Total of 10 GB when i tested it. When I ran the SSD and RAM compatibility scanner from Crucial.com, it says the maximum I can get is 8 GB as 2 x 4GB. The problem is just like many of us, has anyone actually seen if the initial/default RAM chip that is with the motherboard removable? Based on the Crucial Scan, I can put 2 x 4GB to max it out. But im not willing to go to the extent of disassemblying the entire back to see the original RAM. thank you.
just bought one yesterday. that was not a 7mm HDD. 6mm actually. super slim. n i bought 7mm corsair force GS altogether online. just a 1mm height problem so hardly to fit in. aluminium plated is 1mm. n there is a grounding plate at the skrew. don't dare not to use the HDD base plate. so. in the end i placed the SSD without the skrew. getting a driller next time.
Warning: Without using a paper clip (or similar sized object) to press the button in the "Emergency Hole" to cut the battery power you can fry your motherboard by doing what this guy does. Please refer to your Samsung manual for more info.
I recently upgraded my RAM for my Samsung Ultrabook, however, it's running at a snails pace now. Are there changes I need to make to my settings to accommodate my 8gb of RAM? Thanks!
what screw driver did you use to take off the back plate it looks like a precision screw driver. I tried to take it off with great difficulty, I'm thinking because the screw is small it needs a precision screw driver is this correct.
Ismael Ribeiro any laptop ram will work. lol this is a year after you commented so id assume that you had already pulled the trigger. or else i would find the box of the 4gb stick i put in my series 5
can just build stock OS image file on external storage too. i am waiting to get any home premium OEM cd so i can just install and activate it with the product key at the laptop's back. n of cos along with the drivers. Good Luck
thanks man, i just put a 7 mm in and right now its OK. Did you already have windows preinstalled on the other? Also, I lost the ability to use the the F2 an F3 brightness and the graphic that would come up on screen for capslock and others. Any chance you know how to get it back?

Hello, It happens that I just bought one and also added 4Gb of memory to the existing OB memory. The problem is that with the 8Gb, every time I try to wake the laptop from sleep, it irremediably shutdowns and restarts. - If I remove the expansion it works. Did you see any similar behavior and if so how did you solve it..! Thanks in advance, Pedro
Help please, and after replacing the faulty HDD how do you make Windows boot again on the SSD is there a way to replace a faulty HDD with a new one or an SSD and then reinstall Win 8 preintalled version......This is BS Samsung and Microsoft make it imposible
can someone plz tell me if i can replace the WiFi card on the Samsung series 5 specifically NP530U4C-S01AU ?? Will it be from the same slot or would i have to disassemble the whole thing, and when i do is it even replaceable or integrated/soldered ?
EVERYBODY!! is it possible to change the CPU on samsung series 5 ultra ? i have the amd a4 and i want to install a6 or a8 with the same type of socket (fp2) is it possible ?
I don't recommend Samsung computer to anyone. I have experience and there is issues with the hard disk, cooler and it gets too hot. I have changed the hard disk and the cooler twice, but with no success.
Eh? Here is a LENGTHY response, should you be bothered to read multi experine based comments that are constructed with more than a bad run with one Laptop that frankly should have been sent to Samsung for replacement, who would have done so quickly without any real effort needed. Should have pressed the emergency hole button with a paper clip to cut battery power first and also fully shut down before attempting to upgrade it.
Thiago, ao que li no site da Samsung, é de 1600.
Eu instalei um Corsair adicionar de 1600, e funciona que é uma beleza. :)
Warning: Without using a paper clip (or similar sized object) to press the button in the "Emergency Hole" to cut the battery power you can fry your motherboard by doing what this guy does. Please refer to your Samsung manual for more info.
Nice, have you ordered it yet? there's something I'd like to have someone check out.
Nice Man!! DDR 3 1600 it's TOP one, so what about the GB capacity, it's 8GB or above?
