On my open thermostat sr20 240 running on e85, with a water cooled turbo. The car would basically run at 110 degrees in winter time. In az. About 160 in 110 weather. Maybe 170-180 if I really reaaally tried.

purpose of the coolant line on ball bearing turbo is for after shutdown. as long as you have the incoming water at about 7 or 8 o'clock, and the exiting water at an angle upward, it will use thermal siphoning to pull water through the turbo and cool it during shutdown. Garrett says it prevents oil coking after running the car hard. I only hooked it up because I had the fittings and I plan to autocross in the future, lmao. I tapped into my radiator drain plug and iacv for the water source. much love Hunter! thanks for another video

T7 Design sell a timing chain cover turbo oil drain for the K and don't recommend it for sidewinders, I think because of the distance it has to go. I've no personal experience either way, but thought it worth mentioning.

Run coolant in your turbo. If they’re designed to be water cooled. I’d also run a bigger radiator and lower temp thermostat. Hunter tuned can get away with stuff we simply can’t because he doesn’t get 115+ weather like we do. His one fan s2000 would over heat in summer time if he tried that here.
