I recently learned that the Y8 has one curved and one straight intake runner ports to promote swirling which as we all know is for fuel efficiency, not power. The D16Z6 has two perfectly straight intake runner ports and it's said that makes the air tumble into the cylinder which is great for power. Not sure how the Y7 intake ports are shaped. Curious now... Also learned VTEC is only on the intake side w/ SOHC engines. Always thought it was both intake and exhaust.
That clean civic looks awesome. I wonder if it rides ok though. I probably would put softer struts on it or air ride so I could daily it and not get banged around constantly though.
If you don’t have a programmable ecu how do you go from a maf to a map sensor? Or do you just continue to use the maf? Just looking to add 3-5lbs of boost max. I’ve got a tiny t-25 turbo but just need a little more when towing. A/F is controlled by a piggy back APE unit so it can run E. I’ve run it on E-85 just fine but want a bit of boost. Love these eBay builds and your explanation/teaching videos.
Assuming you already have a visible AFR guage you can monitor, just put a manual boost controller on the thing and do like what they did in the video. Turn it up one full turn at a time and monitor the boost and AFR levels under WOT. Keep it under 12.0 AFR....preferably 11.5 or so just to make sure it's safe.
My car smokes bad and my tunner said I need to put 3an oil feed line, ive got 4an now. I cant find the fittings I need for the 3an line except two oil restricters one at each end , will that work??

I don’t know why you keep on putting these motors in your car when you should’ve just bought a JDM type R motor to get all you can out of it. They’re cheap nowadays custom turbo you’ll have 550 that’s enough.
Thes3 are the engines the car comes with not put in.They are not cheap even a non type r b series are fetching over 1k for a high milage b16a2 eng8ne a type r will start at 4k and will cost more to make 500hp as the dseries has been proven to be good for 500hp with studs, rods,pistons and good control over the fuel and ecu. Unless you are talking a jdm k series there is no way a stock b series especially a type r unit will hold 500hp.
And it’s crazy is that more and more junkyards are getting good shit I see so much shit. I go get from the junkyards and build new shit all the time or put my shit back together if I blow it up. People cannot drive us better on us. Shit is going cheaper if we can find it.

Y7 cam lobes are larger than the y8 ones. Just no vtec tall lobe So makes a lot of sense
