Thank you for testing it properly with bacteria cultures. It's very easy to assume this stuff works even if you're buying a placebo.
You are welcome! Thank you so much for watching!
This is very impressive! I would be curious to see if it’s effectiveness changes as the product gets older, for example fresh made, 1 week old and right before it expires around 2 weeks 😁
I was reading some reviews on Amazon and a person noted that if you read up on hypochlorous acid, it degrades in light so using the clear bottle they provide makes sense you'd only get 2 weeks. Apparently hypochlorous acid sold in an opaque or dark bottle lasts much longer, up to a year. I didn't look it up because I always use amber glass spray bottles for all my diy cleaning solutions anyway so I'd just use one of those even if I got this kit. I haven't decided to buy it but fyi, it's cheaper on the official site. Amazon is more expensive.
YES YES YES! My sister asked me to test the same thing. I meant to, but I used it all within a week.... I will most certainly put that on my list because I am super curious! My list is soooooooooooooooooooo long!! There is so much to test!
ah-ha! Interesting!!! Thank you for brining that up!
@@FieldOfFocus hi I was wondering if you you ever got round to doing the time v effectiveness test? I'm extremely interested in that as I can't find anything else about electrolyzed water and that particular question anywhere
@@FieldOfFocus I'm wondering as well what the results look like with different ages of the solution. Especially if that can be contrasted between a clear and opaque bottle
Ooo! Another good video would be to use a beauty blender sponge for a week or two and see which method of cleaning has less bacteria ( soap + water) or ( soap + water + microwave) ☺
oooh interesting.. another good add to the list! Thank you!
Just the video I was looking for! Thank you!
I hope you found it helpful! Thanks for watching!
Yes! I knew you’d come through with an honest review!
Thank you! I really do enjoy testing products, this is a favorite of mine!!! I love testing products and seeing the real world results!
Wow, that's amaxzing. This was a greate review and I'm glad you did one on this product. I've been hearing about it but it wasn't until today that I understood what it was. Finally something simple that holds up to their claims. Love these videos you do. Thank you so much!
Thank you for the kind words! I really wanted to test this product for a long time and I am so glad that I did! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Good to know we made a great choice in purchasing this! Thank you for reviewing it! I recommend buying a continuous mist spray bottle to put the solution in. This way you can treat the solution like a spray on disinfectant like Lysol as well.
Great idea, a continuous mist bottle would be fantastic! Thank you for watching and commenting!
The Force of Nature spray bottles I've had always failed. I've since gone through two continuous mist sprayers that also both failed!
@@stevenmeyers5088I’d use a zep pro bottle, they’re like $7 but they’re rated for the gnarliest chemicals and the materials will hold up even if you leave 100% bleach in it for weeks where a normal bottle that bleach will destroy the grommets or whatever plastic the sprayer uses.
That's pretty amazing!! Great work!
I agree! I am really impressed with Force of Nature! Thanks for watching!
@Field of Focus the one downside is the prep prior and the 10 minute wait. Small price for yhr performance but I have to calculate the likelihood of me using it in quick clean up situations.
Agreed. I am testing a product now with a one minute sit time that is so far looking good! Stay tuned!
I am certainly going to look into purchasing this product! Your test case doesn’t lie. And neither does your enthusiasm!
I am glad this video helped you! I am really impressed with Force of Nature! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wanted to make sure this stuff actually works before purchasing. Thank you!!! Great video
You are welcome! I made an updated more comprehensive review here:
Force of Nature Review- Extensive Bacteria Testing and More! ruclips.net/video/2g6SQrouBqM/видео.html
Wow, these are impressive results. I only just learned about Force of Nature the other day when I was watching another RUclipsr spray something on her fruit to wash it and she said it was Force of Nature. I did a quick search to see what it was but didn't look into it past the price tag. I will have to go give it another look after seeing how well this worked. Thanks for testing this!
You are welcome! I was pleasantly surprised with these results! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I’m so glad to see you do this review because I made this purchase about 14 months ago and I’ve used it for everything since im a huge germaphobe.
I am glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much!
You are very welcome! It was great to see how well Force of Nature works!
I'm using hypochlorous acid on an incision that's opened up after surgery. It's not Force of Nature, of course, but it is the same chemical. You have really relieved my mind that I really may be doing some good with this and might be treating my wound properly. Thank you.
Glad to hear this video helped!! Thanks for watching!
I’ve been waiting for a review with samples like this! Thank you! We love our FON and use it EVERY SINGLE DAY. We go through a bottle every 2 weeks, but I’m curious about what someone mentioned about an amber bottle. That would be interesting to see if it was still effective after 3+ weeks. Another thing I’d be interested in, is effectiveness to just clean VS disinfect. I feel it would still do a decent job if you didn’t leave it for the full 10 min. Love it. It’s great for deodorizing as well.
I have really enjoyed Force of Nature! I will add the amber bottle and more times to my viewer suggestion list as I am curious as well! So testing clean vs disinfect... I tested bacteria so that is considered sanitizing. I can't test disinfection because that means removal of viruses and I cannot test that. What is a Cleaner vs Sanitizer vs Disinfectant? & How I Test Some Products Against These Claims! ruclips.net/video/lFskKqia5nA/видео.html
Hypochlorous acid is not stable and breaks down over time, especially when exposed to light, air, or heat. The breakdown rate can vary depending on the specific conditions such as pH, temperature, and presence of contaminants. Amber glass can protect light sensitive solutions better than clear glass or plastic bottles as it prevents more UVA light from passing through. The color in amber glass helps filter damaging rays and will help keep the hypochlorous acid solution fresher for a bit longer.
It's best to follow manufacturer recommendations and create a brand new batch of hypochlorous acid solution when you're ready to use, but if you want to store some in a bottle for use over a period of time, keep some chlorine and pH testing strips around so you can test your solution prior to use if it's been a few days to make sure its still effective. You'll want to aim for a pH of slightly acidic, between 5.5 - 6.5. At a neutral pH of 7, the solution is about 76% hypochlorous acid and 24% sodium hypochlorite. And chlorine levels should be between 100-200ppm.
I’d love to see a comparison of how it worked just after spraying and wiping immediately on some of the surfaces like kitchen counter, dining room table, cell phone, door knob, bathroom counter because I feel like sometimes it’s difficult to let the product sit.
I will add that to my viewer suggestion list. Thank you for watching!
please try blueland products! they’re plastic-free and i’d love to know if their multi-surface and bathroom cleaners actually remove bacteria
Hi there! I recently purchased some Blueland products, right now I have 4 products mailed to me by viewers so those gets tested first.. hoping to get to Blueland in August!
Thank you for doing this video! I love using force of nature! One thing people might not know is leaving it plugged in after making it and pouring it into the bottle keeps the light timer going..after about a week, the light turns yellow. Once your two weeks is up, the light turns red. This helps keep track of the life of the product!
YES!! I forgot about that. I never leave mine plugged in... but if I did that would be a fantastic reminder! Thank you very much for mentioning this!
Your welcome! I just have to be careful not to get the area wet if I leave it plugged in. Looking forward to more videos ☺️
Yes, some really positive news! Thank you a lot for testing this, confirms it does work in the real world.
What is the ppm count for Force of Nature? I buy ready made electrolyzed water at 500ppm, with a recommended application time of at least one minute. Some studies show effectivity (depending on formulation) with many pathogens in even less than that, in certain cases down to seconds. You’ll have to fact check, but if I remember correctly there are only a few pathogens that needed minutes (again, formulation dependent). Would be interesting to test with different dwell times, say 5s, 10s, 30s, 1min and more, to see the difference on a set of household germs. In some cases maybe a serious reduction in pathogen count is enough, if not killing absolutely all of the most resistant ones.
Another test I would be eager to see is using a wet (near dripping) paper towel with electrolyzed water, instead of spraying. Powerful spray directly on a dirty surface can ‘bounce’/splatter onto surroundings. I’ve asked a manufacturer about this but didn’t get an answer. Perhaps a two sided question, could a clean surface get pathogens from spraying a dirty adjacent surface (do splash drops carry pathogens and dry out too soon to be fully effective), or is it better to use a wet paper towel or cloth for these scenarios? For my one minute dwell time it seems reasonable to go over a surface without too much effort this way, though water tends not to form a uniform film.
On a separate note, would microfiber with plain water remove bacteria close to this same performance? Some cloths claim over 99% reduction.
Maybe too many ideas here, but I am set on removing harsh chemicals from my life and putting it all together, some cloths, cleaning soap and electrolyzed water seem to be enough to take care of all home cleaning. Looking forward to more on electrolyzed water!
Per force of Nature’s site: Hypochlorous Acid Solution 220 ppm Available Chlorine. I agree that dwell time varies and reading many product bottles the large majority of pathogens are eliminated under a minute, but there are some sticklers that need more time. As you know it depends on the concentration of the product in addition to the pathogen. Wetting a paper towel would be an interesting test, as well as testing various dwell times. I have tested one brand microfiber cloth ruclips.net/video/80QsK_EXvmM/видео.html
I plan on testing other microfiber cloths, it is on my list!! Thank you for the thoughtful comment, as you can see there are many areas to test! I will be busy for quite a while!!
I am curious, what is the expiration on your 550ppm electrolyzed water?
@@FieldOfFocus thank you, couldn’t find it on their site for some reason. Will watch the microfiber vid :)
Paper towel effectivity would be wonderful to confirm one can ditch harsh chemicals.
The 500ppm I buy has a shelf life of one year and they are working on an improved bottle to increase to two years. I do tend to go through quite a bit weekly and even with refill bottles waste adds up. Thinking of finding a home device instead, I hear new regulations on HOCl will be enforced around summer time in EU. Hoping for a great product afterwards. Really looking forward to more vids on all things HOCl (maybe also as laundry disinfectant on softener cycle). Thank you again for your videos!
Without watching the video I feel like I’m at a y2k underground rave. Gets ya in the mood to scrub the kitchen
🤣😂🤣😂 I think that is a good thing!!! thanks for watching!
That’s awesome!!! Do you have a request to test antibacterial hand soap? I will send you some!!
Hi there! Yes that is on my viewer suggestion list. I haven’t done it yet because I focus on surface cleaners and not hand washing.
New subbie I love the content. Can you check the use on the toilet again but with force of nature being used after soap based cleanser like sals suds or castille soap ? HA is used in medical settings to disinfect when they can’t use chemical cleaners or disinfectants Maybe you could test other premade brands of HA that have higher ppm? It’s a disinfectant not a cleanser cleaner really so it warily have to be used after a cleanser. Thanks
Hello! I will probably do some more experiments with FON and other HAs.. I added your suggestion to my viewer suggestion list. I do have over 250 suggestions, but will do my best to get to it!! For this test and all my tests I don't "pre-clean" so we can see how well the product alone works. Occasionally I will pre-clean with just water prior to a test if there is sticky stuff on the kitchen counter etc. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Thank you! Interesting video 😃
I was wondering if you could do a video on Borax? On the back of the box there is a recipe for a homemade spray cleaner dissolving it in water 💧
I will most certainly add it to my viewer suggestion list!! Thank you!
Thank you! Please test the spray and wipe method. I’m sick now bc I have been spraying and wiping for a while. Clearly I didn’t read the part where it said wait 10 minutes. LOL. Cheers!
I will add that to my suggestion list. I think most people spray and wipe all cleaners. I really didn't even pay attending to the sit times until I started making these videos. I was shocked to see that some products are 10 mins while others 15 seconds!!! Thanks for watching!
Great song for my adhd and concentration background music! Lol totally adding to my playlist. Thanks! Also, what happens if you wiped it - or it dries before - the 10 mins?
Sometimes I have a hard time picking songs for videos, glad you liked this one! Force of Nature does not have any drying agents in it, so I have not had it evaporate before the 10 min. I did an update video where I tested it at 1 minute if you are interested in a shorter wait time!

@@FieldOfFocus thanks! I’ll check it out!
Thank you for this review! New subscriber! Bought my machine. Do you think if you repeat the process for the toilet and rim it will clear the rest of the bacteria? About to watch your alcohol one now!
I do think using it again will clear the residual bacteria. Thank you for watching and for your support!
Wouldn't any hypochlorous acid solution do this? Not just one made with Force of Nature?
This is the only brand of hypochlorous acid that I have tested so it is the only one I can speak of for results. Thanks for watching!
Yes… I’ve been using eco-one for 5 or 6 years now. Still use it daily.
Wow! Great results! I have a device like yours but it isn't by Force of Nature. Mine, I just add water and plain salt, turn it on for 10 minutes, then unplug. I like saving money using the device but end up buying cleaning products because you can tell if it's really working. I do however smell a light chlorine bleach smell but after a few days the smell is gone. Thanks for doing this test!
Interesting, so yours doesn't use vinegar and salt water, just salt water? What brand is it? I love doing these tests!! I learn so much! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Could you maybe test Effective Microorganisms? They are often sold as “probiotic” cleansers and seem to be popular among eco-conscious people in Japan and Korea. I’m wondering if they are just basically expensive vinegar. You can purchase the EM where people get Bokashi supplies.
Very interesting suggestion. I will add this to my viewer suggestion list and research this a bit more. This will probably be a winter video for me.. Very interesting. Thank you for watching and for this interesting suggestion!
@@FieldOfFocusThanks for taking it up! What I'm particularly interested in is the claim: the surface has reduced bacteria over a period of 48-72h. Or that the amount of bacteria is lower than "other disinfectants".
This may be more difficult for you to prove, though, because the spray uses bacteria (like lactobacillus). I have no idea how you might control that without specialized equipment.
I always wonder when they say "leave wet for 10 minutes" because naturally some starts to evaporate and dry over that time...if it does that before 10 minutes is up, are we supposed to rewet it again?!
Force of Nature does not have any drying agents in it, so it is unlikely to dry within the 10 minutes. It could absorb, depending on the surface you are spraying. However yes, if you are using a product and it says 5 min or 10 min or 20 second wet/sit time, then you can reapply if it dries before the allotted time. Thanks for watching.
I do have an updated FON video where I test much shorted sit times: Force of Nature Review- Extensive Bacteria Testing and More! ruclips.net/video/2g6SQrouBqM/видео.html
Have you tried Attitude or truly free, or blueland?
I have not tried those but will add to my viewer suggestion list! Thank you!
Did you try it in comparison against traditional cleaning products that most people would use?
My channel is dedicated to testing products, so see if a product you are interested in has been tested. Thanks for watching.
The directions say to pre-clean all areas before spraying to disinfect but aside from your test process, do you do the same and what do you use?
Hi there! On my channel I test 1 product at a time, so even if they say pre-clean with a soap or cleaner, I do not. I only tested the Force of Nature no other product. In my home, I will sometimes pre-clean with Dr Bronners or dish soap before using a disinfectant. Thanks for watching! Here is an updated Forece of Nature video you might be interested in: Force of Nature Review- Extensive Bacteria Testing and More! ruclips.net/video/2g6SQrouBqM/видео.html
@@FieldOfFocus ok thank you!
Wow! That’s amazing result. I wonder how it does on fabric, like chairs and sofas and dog beds?
You are in luck! I am testing my couch right now with Lysol, Odoban, Force of Nature and Purell Professional Disinfectant Spray! So hang on to see how it works on fabric! Thanks for watching!!!
@@FieldOfFocus Awesome! Will you be testing 70% alcohol on the couch as well? I'm so curious to see how that does. I've spraying 70% rubbing alcohol everywhere through our house since 2020. Thank you so much! I'm hooked on our channel!
For this round I tested Lysol, Odoban, Force of Nature and Purell Professional Disinfectant Spray (which is alcohol)... I will do more fabric/sofa testing in the future! Thank you so much for your support!
I believe HOCl below 500ppm does not damage colors or fabrics but I have never tested it on silk or wool
Hi sister. I am writing from Nairobi, Kenya. I am a nurse. We use hypochlorous acid, hydrogen peroxide, and Iodine to treat infections. Which one is best you think
Thank you
Hello! I think all 3 are fantastic. I have not conducted skin testing however from my results I think hypochlorous acid is best for surfaces. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
@@FieldOfFocus thank you very much sister abd may God bless you.
Wow thanks! I have been using it for years but I wasn’t sure it was doing anything (but I did have confidence!). I felt comfortable using it when a family member was on hospice (and this was during Covid). I’m so happy to see your visible proof!
Well, dang. Now I can't call this BS lol. How does it work in terms of cleaning without soaking for 10 minutes? I traditionally never soak surfaces more than 30 seconds unless I forget to wipe the area. I like to spray, and wipe, then move on. Also, I read it works well for windows to replace Windex, as in it's streak free? Also for kitchens, such as alternative for stove (grease) cleaning? Also wondering if the minute amount of vinegar somehow makes it work as a lime-away replacement for hardwater buildup/scale. I know these are all big asks.
So for each product I test, I use the manufacturers guidelines, for Force of Nature it is a 10 minute wait time. For most products to remove bacteria there is a 1-5 minute wait time, each one will have their specifications on the label. I am curious how well FON would do at a shorter wait time to, so I have added it to my viewer suggestion list. I haven't tried out FON on windows yet or my stove.. but I will! Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
@@FieldOfFocus It does make sense. Similar to how we wash our hands wrong and don't have contact with hand soap long enough to kill the bacteria. I'm definitely going to purchase something like FoN, just haven't decided the most value oriented one. The vinegar and dish soap video makes me lean towards that but I don't care for that strong of vinegar smell all the time so this seems the best alternative to being still holistic in a sense compared to chemicals.
YES! Very true. I really like FON, I also liked the results from my Vinegar video, but I can't have that smell around all the time. I also like Dr Bronner's Unscented Castille Soap for cleaning and then FON for disinfection after. Lots of products to test and see what works best for you!
I'd be curious to see how well it works by just wiping and letting the surface air dry. No way my kids will let this sit for 10 minutes on a counter.
I know... That is on my list because I am curious too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for watching!
I would love to see results after only 1 minute wait time compared to 10, please 🙏 thank you!
Maybe a spray and wipe up right away too, this is what I usually do - how effective is that? Eeek
Hi there! For now, I am just testing products according to their manufacturer's guidelines. But I do have some curiosity as well if that 10 minute wait time can be decreased. I will add it to my suggestion list! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@FieldOfFocus Thanks for responding :) I also want to use it as a vegetable wash, they suggest: “Our Force of Nature cleaner makes a great wash for produce: just spray, wait 30 seconds and give it a quick rinse.” Please consider doing an episode where you test out vegetable washes, how well they remove germs from vegetables and fruit. Thank you!!!
Interesting idea about vegetable rinse!!!!
Yes! This is exactly what I want to see too!
Could I spay this on a toilet brush to kill bacteria instead of soaking the brush in bleach?
I think so.. I will add that to my testing list to see how effective it is!
Why can’t we just use hydrogen peroxide to do the same thing ?????????
Hydrogen Peroxide and Hypochlorous Acid (force of nature) are two different chemicals. I do have a few videos about Hydrogen Peroxide if that interests you.

Why did you choose 10 minutes? No one waits 10 minutes to wipe.
When I test products for my channel I follow the manufacturer guidelines. Thanks for watching!
You aren’t supposed to disinfect every time you clean- it’s not needed and can create super bugs and other issues.
This is a RUclips channel that tests products to see if product claims match real world results.
