Cindy Lauper was really like a big kid with a great voice. I saw her about 8 years ago and she still has that “fun child like vibe”. She does now more blues and I could see in her performance that’s her true passion. She is such a fun person to listen to. She told some fun stories in between the concert. There was lots of laughter and fun in the audience
This was my Dad's favorite album. That summer was cut short and he was forced to send me and my siblings back home. I forgot a suitcase in the apartment and made the driver turn around. When I opened the door, Dad was listening to "Time After Time" weeping like I have never seen a man weep like that before or since. He saw me and squeezed me, sobbing uncontrollably - repeating "thank you. I love you. thank you" He escorted me back to the truck and waved goodbye, not hiding the tears. That was the last time I saw him alive. He was taken from us in a work related accident that summer. Passed away suddenly and painlessly. To this day, I see him in immense grief when I hear this song
She co-wrote this song with Rob Hyman, who had his own band The Hooters. Rob is the guy you hear singing with Cindi on “Time After Time .”The Hooters had some pretty good hits of their own back then like “All You Zombies” and “And We Danced”
Go watch "Cyndi Lauper - "If I Could Turn Back Time" (Cher Tribute) | 2018 Kennedy Center Honors" - she still has it! :) She was 29-30 when she made "Time After Time". She is 68 now! And 64 in the Cher Tribute but you'd probably never have guess! Beauty!
One of the greatest stars of the 80s: Girls Just Want to Have Fun is her biggest smash, but I also suggest the live video of Money Changes Everything, She Bop, All Through the Night, When You Were Mine, I Drove All Night. Had one of the biggest and best debut albums in pop history. Does tons of work for the LGBT+ community, just a great human. Also worth seeing her interviews on David Letterman.
My doppelgänger!😂Was always told I looked SO like Cyndi…maybe the baby cheeks😂I LOVE her, loved her from the 80’s as a teenager and still love her🥰very unique..like myself😜Great reaction as always😎👌🏼♥️
Cyndi's debut solo album was a huge hit with several big singles. She was as popular as Madonna then, but the height of her popularity didn't last as long as Madonna's. I like all of Cyndi's biggest hits, but a few favorites from her discography are: 1. True Colors 2. I Drove All Night 3. You Don't Know 4. Into The Nightlife
Glad you reacted too her! this song is a great one for a prom slow dance! It’s been used in a lot of movies and tv shows for that too, Cyndi has a lot of good videos and songs to check out, my favs of hers are 1.girls just wanna have fun 2.All through the night, 3.Hole in my heart, 4.she bop, also hole in my heart has a really fun video. Great reaction! :)
I love Cyndi!!!!!! Her quirk has always been what I love! Fun fact: she sang the title track for The Goonies!!!! My favorite childhood movie! On the special features there's a full music video of it with the kids & some WWF superstars like Rowdy Roddy Piper & The Iron Shiek (it was still WWF at the time) It's so perfectly "80's" lol!
lol, oh that Cyndi Looper. Cyndi was the greatest actual female vocalist to come out of that era. She was a bit "silly" and between the hair, costuming, and involvement with wrestling, people didn't take her nearly as seriously as she deserved. If you check more of her out, react to some of her live stuff (ideally from her "Live at Last" concert) - that's where you really get how unreal her voice is (think twice the power and range of Celine Dion). I Drove All Night, At Last, and especially Money Changes Everything would be good starting places.
Cyndi Lauper (pronounced "lopper") is an awesome singer and musician. I saw her in concert several years ago. She not only went out into the audience while singing, she also played this song on a dulcimer. She doesn't get near the credit she deserves.
Cyndi Lauper is such a gem! I’ve met her quite a few times and she’s a doll, and that VOICE! She has such a huge range, vocally and is a powerhouse! I really encourage you to listen to her greatest hits! She never disappoints. ❤️
I get what you're saying. I love when u dissect a song and how it resonates with your life but I understand that not every song will get that type of reaction.
I like this song a lot, but not this version because it's a bit faster, live versions and even the version with Sarah McLachlan are slower so the song makes more sense
I was not a big fan and like others said, she started at the same time as Madonna but Madonna was more provocative and Cindy Lauper did a bad move when she decided to starts to appear in the WWF. She lost a lot of credibility because she is underrated. Just before her association with the wrestling world, she had a success with true color and you can hear the power of her voice in the song Stone. In France there was a rock opera who had a great success it was a France-Québec production and Cindy Lauper was singing Stone (you can find it on her page) and was suppose to be one character of the English version. But the mistake they did is presenting it in London instead of New-York and it was the end of the project.

Its Cyndi [LAW - PURR]😂😂😂
1984 was one of the best years in music, in my opinion...so many gigantic hits came that year.
So glad you did this Cindy in my humble opinion was seriously UNDERRATED a trailblazer of the 80s
Fun fact, her mother (who passed away in June this year) and brother appear in the video.

Her cover of girls just wanna have fun was so timeless most people don't even know it is a cover! Such a beautiful soul she is.
You should check out her song "True Colors"
She co-wrote this song with Rob Hyman, who had his own band The Hooters. Rob is the guy you hear singing with Cindi on “Time After Time .”The Hooters had some pretty good hits of their own back then like “All You Zombies” and “And We Danced”
One of the best ballads from the 80s❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
she was 31, turning 32 in June of 1984 - when this song hit #1. how's that for a bday present!
Well.she was born in 1953,so she was 30,and turning 31 in the summer of 1984,but yeah...
Love her❤️

Don't forget "True Colors" and the True Colors Fund she co-founded😁
I Drove all Night
True Colors
My doppelgänger!😂Was always told I looked SO like Cyndi…maybe the baby cheeks😂I LOVE her, loved her from the 80’s as a teenager and still love her🥰very unique..like myself😜Great reaction as always😎👌🏼♥️
True colors😍❤🌈
Cyndi Laa-Per
And her name is pronounced LAW-PER. And she’s still working. She was one of the composers/playwrights of the Broadway smash hit, “KINKY BOOTS”!
Cindy won a Tony Award for best music in a musical on Broadway, for writing the songs for the musical Kinky Boots.
She was 30 with this came out. :D
Don’t cry baby;)

The cover version from Eva Cassidy is sooo beautiful! 💜
Since you love Rob Thomas, he sang Time after time live..check it out..

It's pronounced Law-per😘 She has had many hits "True Colors" is one of her biggest and best😍🔥👌
This is one of the better pop songs that came out of the 80s, IMO.
please listen to I"m gonna be strong, or The world is stone, or At last
I love Cyndi!!!!!! Her quirk has always been what I love! Fun fact: she sang the title track for The Goonies!!!! My favorite childhood movie! The 80's had "friendly Rivalry" Male artists Michael Jackson vs. Prince. Female artists Madonna vs. Cyndi Lauper.
lol, oh that Cyndi Looper.

Was her mum in the video?
Yes, that's her Mom in the Video and her Reallife Boyfriend at the Time.
She had a lot of great songs. Girls Just Want to Have Fun, True Colors and I Drove All Night.
This is my favorite Cindy Lauper’s song, such talented and she was sorta of punk in this video
The guitar's solo brings me a strange feeling of nostalgia. I think it's because of the "time vibe" that it transmits.
❤❤
Like the way Anton says Lauper (Looper). 😁
Time After Time is an amazing song. Songs become more enjoyable as you and the song age.

Still waiting for Mariah Carey reaction Without You(Live Video Version)
please please please!! ❤️
If you react to "The world is stone" by her, you'd be the first one to do it! Great song!
Cyndi Lauper is such a gem! I’ve met her quite a few times and she’s a doll, and that VOICE! She has such a huge range, vocally and is a powerhouse! I really encourage you to listen to her greatest hits! She never disappoints. ❤️
I can't believe people are stupid enough to believe this is "the first time" he's heard this song.
I get what you're saying. I love when u dissect a song and how it resonates with your life but I understand that not every song will get that type of reaction.

Cindy Louper, how old do you have to be to know her name?
It's "LOP-her"...
It is pronounced Lawper
Marie Fredriksson, from Roxette, did a cover of this song: ruclips.net/video/lq_KqfXYGdA/видео.html
Sam Smith does a great cover

This video is running slow, I think. Something is off with it.
Cindi Looper lol
