all the positive buzz and reviews around the game has been super heartwarming for me as someone who this series means the world to haha. very glad people are enjoying the game and I hope more people keep trying it. long live Star Ocean and maybe we'll get a SO3 remaster/remake for its 20th anniversary next year 🙂

Was not expecting HYDE to show up in this game but I love it nontheless. Gave me the exact same feeling I had when I first played First Departure on PSP all those years ago. Really looking forward to this one

Star Ocean 3 has an HD port available on PS4 already, but its not exactly a remaster. I do agree about SO Second Evolution though.

I searched ps store before for star ocean and it didn't pop up and it's not at top of wiki page so didn't realize that's awesome. Now if only second evolution would come west and not be stuck in Japan. It already has English so it's dumb

Very nice! I’m super excited for next week when the game finally releases! I’m a longtime Star Ocean fan, and The Divine Force definitely looks great to me based on all the trailers and the demo!
I started liking star ocean from a streamer's playthrough of "the last hope" few years ago, the series seems so cool!

Is an JRPG really a JRPG without the badass opening. I was hyped with Tales of Arise's songs. Didn't think I'd get a high again. This game proved me wrong. Gotta listen to it, each time I play the game.
Was a pain getting the platinum trophy but this intro was always a nice perk up.
Song sounds awesome, movie is great, BUT the two don't really mesh well together.
Looking forward to this game! So happy there's only about a week left until release~

I can't say the vocals are my favorite, but I like parts of this intro. This has been my introduction to the Star Ocean series and I'm curious to follow how it evolved. Currently working through the remake of the first one now. Really feels like they were inspired by Tales Of and Xenoblade for the gameplay of this one.
Tri-ace, the studio behind Star Ocean, was originally formed by a group of devs that split off from Tales of Phantasia's dev team. So the resemblance is actually very intentional - the first Star Ocean was made with the idea of taking Tales gameplay and adding more complex elements to it.
Time to hit that pre order.
Long time Star Ocean fan (I jumped on the wagon on the release of Second Story back on the original Playstation) and I'm pretty hyped about this release. I'm glad more JRPG's have been coming to PC because I haven't been a fan of Sony in the last several years. Already pre-ordered my copy so just waiting for release!

I have always loved this intro song ever since I first played through Star Ocean 6 fall 2022. I had already preordered on Amazon for Xbox One, but playing completely through the demo only made me even happier about my purchase and I later double dipped and purchased the game on Steam January 2023. Although an extremely unorthodox and unpopular opinion to many, after finishing this game last year Star Ocean 6 has become my favorite video game of all time.

This title trailer threw me off at first but after playing the game it’s so fitting with how frantic and high paced the action is. I’m also a metal head so this is a big win to me, love this trailer and tune. Makes me hype to log back on!

Same here! I don’t care what the haters or those who criticize things like the art style or the graphics say. At the end of the day, I love what I’ve seen of this game from all the trailers and from the demo. Yeah, it’s far from perfect, and yeah, there were some frame rate dips in the demo, but honestly I feel like there’s much more important things than just the graphics or running at 60fps all the time. And from what I’ve seen, I feel like the pros far outweigh the cons thus far.
People are welcome to have their opinions and they’re welcome to criticize if that’s what they want to spend their time doing. Hopefully their concerns will be addressed, but I’m also not one to immediately dismiss a game just because of the facial animations being designed more for the Japanese voice over, or because the demo for the game had some frame rate dips in a couple areas. Personally, I’m just thankful that we’re getting a new Star Ocean at all. While I also hope that things like the frame rate dips are addressed better in the full game, I’m personally not going to let that ruin it for me either. I’m here for the gameplay, the characters, the combat, and all the other things that the Star Ocean series has generally done incredibly well with. From what they’ve shown, this is very exciting to me and I’m eagerly looking forward to next week when the game launches!

@@Introversion399 That’s only partially true. Yes, it is true that many people care about the series and want the best for it by giving their criticisms. In that sense, criticism can come from a place of care and wanting things to be better in the future. I believe that kind of criticism is good and can lead to a better future.
But it is absolutely not the case all the time. There’s literally dozens of cookie cutter comments I’ve seen from a bunch of people trolling on the game too. People saying things like, “this looks like garbage” or only being sarcastic in their responses. The reason I call them cookie cutter comments is because they literally all say the same thing without anything new to bring to the table, all while really just being here to troll and bring the game and others down. Those types of criticisms are absolutely coming from a place of hate and toxicity.
Just to be clear, I don’t think the game looks perfect, or even close to perfect. It’s got some flaws. I also hope the frame rate drops are fixed. I’m not trying to be harsh or rude, and I’m sorry if it came across that way. I just wanted to clarify that yes, criticism certainly can be constructive and positive, but sometimes it’s also just out of hate and toxicity. While I can’t speak for the original poster of this comment we’re replying to, I personally don’t think they meant that those who offer constructive criticism are the same as haters. I think they were referring to the trolls and toxic comments, which are unfortunately very abundant.

The song is good but not for the opening it fits the overall theme of the entire game and should be part of the sound track but not the opening and that opening movie is just a collage of scenes thrown together with no thought no reason for the scene be picked for the trailor

this music is so out of place with whats actually happen on the video
My gripe with this game was that it didn't allow me to use rtx 3050 gpu so I was stuck with integrated graphics. It was stuttering a lot.
I have a 3060 and worked fine for me. Have you tried updating the drivers?

I was originally joking that this game made Star Ocean 3 non canon. But now i'm now genuinely convinced that Square Enix is just looking for an excuse to reboot Star Ocean period. Considering that this game just feels like a rehash of part 2.

@@pjsniper436 ALL of the male leads fall under the archetype. Roddick and Fidel are Luke Skywalker. Edge and Claude are Captain Kirk. Fayt is the oddball since he is more in line with an anime mecha pilot. And the captain from Amanesis is Captain Picard thrust into Janeway's life. The franchise even has a Q in Welch.

SE Hasn't been able to make a decent game for years.
They have bankrupted multiple studios (FF12 The fortress, FF15 and so on) not to mention they lost over 200 million recently with their avengers game.
So don't expect anything good from their projects.
If it's someone else making the game completely on their own then it's different.

Even in this trailer the framerate fluctuates between 30 and 60 fps. This is unacceptable quality for such a high-prestige game as Star Ocean.
